Hotline Miami 2 kicking down doors on PS4, PS Vita

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is headed to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, but hopefully you’ve gathered that from the headline already.

Almost as fast as Dennaton Games and Devolver Digital could announce Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number we started getting questions on whether the game will be coming to PlayStation platforms. And again, if it hasn’t sunk in yet, the answer is yes. Please pay attention. So let’s move on a bit and talk more about why we’re bringing the neon brutality and blazing beats of the next Hotline Miami to PlayStation.

The original Hotline Miami launched on PlayStation 3 and Vita earlier this summer and the PlayStation community has been incredibly supportive of the game that Dennaton Games originally created and Abstraction Games rebuilt for the platform.

Heck, supportive doesn’t do it justice – the fans have gone crazy about Hotline Miami and it hasn’t gone unnoticed. Even when there was a little hiccup and some trophies weren’t unlocking properly, the community was understanding and helped us figure out what some of the issues were and made the patch process move faster than we could have done on our own. And when that patch hit, Twitter exploded with the cheers of Hotline Miami fans posting screenshots of their freshly-popped platinum trophy.

That feeling was incredible and we want it again.

While there is no set release date, the target for launch on all platforms is the first half of next year. In the meantime, Dennaton Games will be thinking on how best to take advantage of some of the wonderful features of the upcoming PlayStation 4 and also make better use of the PlayStation Vita all while seeing how both can be used together for a better experience.

Between all the social functions and the more tactile control options there are some really amazing opportunities for Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number and we’re all thrilled to be a part it.

Now, if you haven’t played the original go download Hotline Miami on PlayStation Network and see what all the fuss is about.

Did you enjoy this?

Hotline Miami is insanely good, and this looks like it’s going to be even better. Cannot wait.

im getting a ps4 so this question is not an issue i face.

the game will be on ps4 and vita why not ps3?
it would run on the ps3 so why cut off that side of your fanbase?

just curious

Love Hotline miami :) Play it hotseated with a friend on the Ps4 or alone on the Vita.

Its so much fun if you see someone else make a mistake or even panic when there is to much enemies coming.

Cant wait for HM2 :)

Any updates on Hotline Miami appearing on the NZ store? Nearly 2 months late & still no word

This was quite possibly my favourite announcement of Gamescom for me… I was one of those ever since hearing of the sequel absolutely praying that it’d be coming to Vita – and it is! WOOHOO! :)

Love the fact that we Vita users get this, though agree it would be nice to have PS3 as well- unless I bump a few relatives off I will not be affording PS4 for a while

Hotline Miami on the Vita is a real gem. The controls are tight and it’s just a blast to play. And that soundtrack!

One of the few indies that really stand out on the Vita.

I played Hotline Miami more than Bioshock Infinite and The Last of Us this year, and those are two games I’d class under “masterpiece”. It’s just completely addictive and fun. The Vita version was handled so well.

Awesome, I didn’t even know a sequel was announced. Day 1 purchase!

Cant wait. I guess you cant talk about it but it will be interesting to see if the touch pad can be used to pan the camera and click to lock on.
