Hello PlayStation Bloggers and Music Unlimited subscribers. Last month, we launched something new to the Music Unlimited web client: Featured Playlists. This is your one-stop for curated playlists from your favorite artists, music influencers and the Music Unlimited staff.

As you may be aware, last week saw the launch of a little-known release by Rockstar Games. With the fifth instalment of the Grand Theft Auto series, Music Unlimited has created exclusive playlists to celebrate the very best tracks from the game, including highlights from the Los Santos Rock, Non-Stop Pop and West Coast Classics stations. Re-live the soundtrack to some of your favourite GTA moments now by checking out the Playlists section of the service.

Pitchfork Media
The latest in our series from influential music site, Pitchfork, is a collection of 35 songs featured in their “Overlooked Records” lists from 2011 to 2013. These lists are compiled annually, halfway through the year, taking special note of albums that may not have been in the spotlight but deemed worthy of an extra push.

Many of these were highly rated by the website, with 2013’s honorees including a “soundtrack to a modern fairytale” from Laura Mvula, instrumental guitar aficionado William Tyler, rapper Kevin Gates (also featured on the Pitchfork Rap Singles 2010 – 2013 playlist) and Pitchfork Music Festival Paris performer, Jagwar Ma. Listen to these artists & more in the Pitchfork’s Overlooked Playlist!

The Black Angels
We caught up with Austin’s favourite psychedelic rockers The Black Angels. They talked us through the new record Indigo Meadow, the trials and tribulations of touring, and what they would have on their “desert island discs”. Check out the interview here or listen to the outstandingly selected playlist they made for us on the Music Unlimited service.

New releases
Album launches are now beginning the enormous ramp up towards Christmas, and this week is no exception. Hit filled blockbusters from the Kings of Leon (Mechanical Bull), Jason Derolo (Tattoos), The Pixies (EP1), Avicii (True) and MGMT (MGMT) have graced the Music Unlimited halls in the past 7 days, with many more to come in the next month including releases by new sensation Foxes, Justin Timberlake, Haim, Dizzee Rascal and Jack Johnson.
