Hello Gran Turismo fans
I am very happy to reveal news today that will be incredibly exciting for our Antipodean racing fans and hopefully equally thrilling for petrol heads the world over.
Australia’s Mount Panorama Circuit also known as Bathurst will be coming to Gran Turismo 6 very soon. The circuit is famous for being the showpiece race within the Australian V8 Supercar Championship.
Set over 6.2 kilometres it is a challenging, undulating circuit set to provide a stunning new addition to an already mouth-watering line up of new tracks and cars for GT6 when it launches in December.
Speaking of the new circuit, here’s what Kazunori Yamauchi, the Gran Turismo creator and President of Polyphony Digital Inc had to say.
“We are very pleased to be able to include Bathurst in our expanded selection of race tracks available in Gran Turismo 6. Since its inception 15 years ago, Gran Turismo has listened to fan feedback and added extra features so that we now offer 1200 cars and 33 circuits from all across the world. It seems only right that the legendary Mount Panorama circuit is included as fans will now have a chance to drive one of the toughest tracks out there. Described by some as Australia’s very own Nürburgring, this is a formidable track that will provide an exciting new challenge for PlayStation gamers.”
A new, rather hypnotically beautiful trailer gives a glimpse as to what we can expect from the Bathurst circuit when GT6 hits the shelves this winter
Gran Turismo 6 will be released 6 December and is available to pre-order now with a host of pre-order goodies depending on your retail destination of choice. More news on Bathurst can be found on gran-turismo.com and more GT6 news will be incoming very soon.
