Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD release date announced

Greetings, PlayStation Assassins! We’re very excited to announce that Assassins Creed Liberation HD will be coming to PS3 via PlayStation Store on 15th January 2014.

When we set out to do Liberation HD, our objective was simple: improve upon what worked on the Vita and adapt the gameplay and missions to be the most fun and enjoyable they could be. As a result, each mission has been reworked in order to improve its pacing, and the challenge it poses to the player.

Liberation is set in New Orleans between 1765 and 1780, in the period between the end of the French and Indian War, up to the middle of the American Revolution. Liberation tells the story of Aveline; a female Assassin of mixed French and African heritage. Brought up in a world of privilege and contrasts, Aveline becomes a strong-willed woman and an avid opponent of slavery.

Recruited to the Assassins by an escaped slave, Aveline joins the struggle against the Templars as they try to take control of New Orleans following France’s handover of the city to Spain. Striking hard and fast, she is instrumental in the Louisiana Rebellion that forces the Spanish and Templars out of the city for nearly two years before they return in force.

In addition to the HD upgrade, we also have new missions specific to Aveline’s Personas. Aveline is the first Assassin with such clearly different character types — Assassin, Lady, and Servant. Each persona has its own advantages and disadvantages when playing missions, and each generates a different reaction from the city life around Aveline. That’s a total of 15 missions delving deeper into Aveline’s story.

If you haven’t had a chance to play this chapter of Assassins Creed on Vita, or simply want to play Liberation on the big screen, we hope you’ll check out Assassins Creed Liberation HD on 15th January. It will be priced €19.99/£15,99, though pre-order today and save 25% (€14.99/£11.99).

See you on the Bayou.

Did you enjoy this?

I platinum this game. Lv15 multiplayer trophy is pain in the arse

Despite I myself already having played through the Vita game, (and loved!) I find myself asking… If you’re trying to target a different demographic, then why aren’t you putting the game on PS4? Surely the amount of people trading in a PS3 for a PS4 must have a big impact on your overall sales? Just wondering was all…

Two months after PS4 launch and it’s coming to PS3. :(

add remote play for vita via ps3 so us vita owners can play it on the handheld without all the bugs and glitches of the native version ;)

Why does everyone keep moaning about PS3 still being supported even though PS4 is on the way? I happen to know that their are COUNTLESS people NOT getting. Next gen console yet because they still have lots of PS3 games to play.

There are over 75 million people who have bought a PS3, do you seriously believe they will all go out and buy a PS4 immediately? You are so wrong if you think that. I myself AM getting a PS4 at launch but there are DOZENS of people on my friend list alone that aren’t. Yet.

It makes total sense that PS3 should continue to be supported for quite a while yet and for these companies it’s guaranteed income with such a gigantic install base compared to a brand new console.

Anyway, just give it a rest with the moaning and predicting nobody wants PS3 games anymore. I will still be playing games on PS3 for at least a couple more years, PS4 or not.

How about allowing those of us that already played it to get 50% off seeing we already bought it?

no discount for anyone who bought the vita version or maybe a promo code included in assassin’s creed IV? the discounted price (25%) is still more expensive than US price…

Store error on UK PSN website when trying to navigate to Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD to preorder it. Click on the title and the following error appears: ‘The page you have requested has failed to load. Please try again later.’

Hope this gets addressed before the preorder discount gets pulled.

No pre-order page of assassins creed libration hd in Dutch playstationstore(jet).
