For London Covent Garden, will it be via invite or a free for all? Are you able to go even if you’ve already pre-ordered? I imagine that place would fill up pretty quickly.

@fred

any chance of grabbing a few of those london goodie bags to give away on here.

got my ps4 coming from amazon but if there was an access event in glasgow like the past i would have been on it as i love the swag and atmosphere , still got tons of uncharted and resistance vinyls in my room along with lots of lbp keyrings and drake scarfe t-shirts(no idea why the girl at the desk gave me so many bags)

I’ve asked on twitter, but I’ll ask here to, when can we download the Firmware to USB stick, my community is waiting as Iam ??

ruirochaferreira 25 November, 2013 @ 1:30 pm   4

What about Portugal?

    Fred Dutton 25 November, 2013 @ 1:40 pm

I’m chasing the Portugal team now. As I said above, this list is not 100% comprehensive and I will add in further events when full details are confirmed.

Nothing in the Netherlands?

DenSchmerz 25 November, 2013 @ 1:37 pm   6

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, Moscow, Russia!!! PS4EVER!!! ^.^

Game-Sammich_Dan 25 November, 2013 @ 1:39 pm   7

Off topic slightly, but any word on the ridiculous PSN prices for PS4 games, especially with EA titles?
Any justification for games being £8 on PSN than on XB LIVE?
I would prefer to buy digital this coming generation but am being priced out of it.

Is Australia meant to be included in the post tags? I Know some JBHIFI & EBgames are doing midnight launches but nothing official on Sony’s side correct?

    Fred Dutton 25 November, 2013 @ 1:57 pm

I’m hoping to update the post with Australia and NZ event information in the next 24 hours. Just a few details to iron out.

Ishan_The_King 25 November, 2013 @ 1:54 pm   9

Good for you guys, meanwhile here in India (which also comes in the PAL region) we don’t even have a confirmed release date for PS4. I can’t even begin to describe the excitement for PS4 in the gaming fraternity here in my country – but so far no info from Sony.
Sony kindly bring the PS4 to India asap – preferably this year itself! Thanks.

Hey, what media apps will be available at launch in the UK? like Netflix etc?

    Fred Dutton 25 November, 2013 @ 1:58 pm

I’m hoping to confirm a list tomorrow. Forgive me if that turns into Wednesday though!

Like hayzink said, it would be good if there were goodie bags available across the countries, here or given to early adopters via retailers!

Always annoying to see most/all of these kind of events (i say from a UK perspective) always being in London. It’s not worth the 8 hour (each way) train journey for it from Aberdeen!

I would also like some information about the ludicrous pricing of digital downloads in the UK.
The pricing in the UK (for games also available on disc) was generally horrific on PS3, and looks like it will be even worse on PS4!

Why are some games over £60, when they are available in the US for $60? And why are EA charging more for games on PS4 than Xbox One?

I’ve pre-order the mega bundle but have just read that for those non-US gamers or packs do not contain the PS4 camera stand and we will have to spend upwards to £15 to get hold of one. Can you please confirm if the above is true?

If the stand is not included when we purchase the PS4 camera, can someone explain why?

At £63 per game and in general a increase over Xbox live my excitement has been massively dimmed. What a rip off.

You can say that its the third parties who set the price but ultimately its your store and you shouldn’t let them put them up for extortionate prices, and certainly not prices above your rival platform.

What an utter mess up all round. Digital future is very far away at this point and so is used game lost profits!

Ah, I’m mainly after the goody bags, would be awesome if some were made available here! Free advertising n’all :)

Btw, awesome job on SCEE’s part in this launch, thank you all.

CRASHBASHUK 25 November, 2013 @ 2:12 pm   16

do you know if we get any goodies if we go to GAME midnight lunch at the stores?
beside having the advantage to pre-purchase our ps4 and stuff on wed/thurs and get gaming quicker on Friday morning?
also when can we download the ps4 EU firmware update?

    Fred Dutton 25 November, 2013 @ 2:20 pm

Ah, that’s a question for GAME I’m afraid!

I’ll get back to you re. firmware asap.

When does the queuing usually start for the London event? Anybody handing free tellys this time around? ;)

I have my preorder from Game, but I will certainly be there at the PS4 Lounge in Covent Garden to participate in the mega celebration. NEXT_GEN, my body is ready!!!

    Fred Dutton 25 November, 2013 @ 2:22 pm

Queuing starts as soon as the first person shows up! Hard to say I’m afraid – I wouldn’t want to say ‘Show up at 8pm, it’ll be fine’ and then the event be jam-packed. You’ll have to put your finger in the air and make a call!

dark_angel69 25 November, 2013 @ 2:23 pm   18

I have work on Friday. :( It depresses me! Can’t wait to get home tho. Should be ready for me when I get home!

Don’t even know what to play first, AC4, Killzone or BF4. Too excited to even choose one. If only I could shove all three in at once. hehe

Any chance of South Africa? Our release date is 13 December so I assume it is one of the 10 countries?

    Fred Dutton 25 November, 2013 @ 2:33 pm

Sure, I’ll look to do a similar post in a week or two for the 10 countries launching on 13th December.

FallingStickman 25 November, 2013 @ 2:30 pm   20

I find it somewhat ironic that there are 4 events in Poland and yet SCE Poland did such a terrible job securing so little consoles that the only way you can be sure you’ll get one is if you pre-ordered one… before the end of June. That’s right, in Poland you had to pre-order a PS4 5 months in advance to even hope you’ll get it. Plus, since Sony Poland is such a nice partner for retailer and doesn’t “suggest” a retail price for the PS4 the price in Poland is at a 450 euro level. Nice.

no event , go buy
-ps4
-ds4
-camera then go home
instal new hd
then instal next games
ac iv – cod-bf

fred info software update please , ore save to download 1.51 from usa ?

Martingutten 25 November, 2013 @ 2:36 pm   22

When will the PS4 section of the web-version of PS store open? I want to secure my PS+ games, since I am not able to get a PS4 at launch.

I know it’s slightly off topic, but as the UK seems to be celebrating Black Friday now for whatever reasons… Will we be getting any offers on PS Plus like the US have? It would perfectly compliment my PS4 as my last subscription is due an update near January… Thanks Fred!

VitalogyPJ 25 November, 2013 @ 2:58 pm   24

So instead of make events in more countries you decide to make 4 (FOUR) events in poland, because one wasn’t enough -.-’

Why is the PS4 PSN game prices more expensive then retail? Why did the prices increase 25% since PS3 games while the games cost the same in US? Why do we get to pay twice as much for the same games?

I’ll be at midnight launch :) Xbox million world wide Sony 1 million USA lets double that for around world :)

European_Gamer 25 November, 2013 @ 3:30 pm   27

Is it possible to get a PS4 at the Danish launch events or is it only for those WHO has pre-ordered??

Copenhagen, Denmark
Where: All Gamestop stores in Denmark, plus five selected stores with special support from PlayStation: Næstved, Cph Fisketorvet, Lyngby, Ålborg Storcenter, Bruuns Galleri.
When: 28th November, from 9.00pm
Midnight opening, with giveaways, competitions and more.

Fred the PS Lounge Team have just posted on Facebook,

‘this isn’t a party. This is an opportunity for those that don’t have a PS4 to come down and grab one at a midnight launch. We have plenty to keep those in the crowd going but no such ‘party’ in the lounge for the general public, sorry.’

I’m a little confused, is that where the main launch event is or not?

    Fred Dutton 25 November, 2013 @ 3:43 pm

Yes, the launch event is at 17 Bedford Street, Covent Garden. See above for details of what to expect.

Retro-Boy99 25 November, 2013 @ 3:41 pm   29

What about the other countries across the PAL region at the 13th of December?

@RobertRFC

game should be able to tell you by now, especially as you have paid for it.

WATP!!!

It’s awesome there are so many events in Poland, it’s just a pity you missed my city (Lodz), while you host events in other Polish cities which are less than half the size of mine :/

You should host an event in the Sony Centre in Manufaktura Lodzka.

Still, good to get so much love!

RobertRFC 25 November, 2013 @ 4:31 pm   36

been on the phone and they said cant tell me yet. getting worried that i wont get one. WATFP RTID !!!

    Fred Dutton 25 November, 2013 @ 4:53 pm

As soon as a date is confirmed we’ll let you know. Sorry you’ve had to wait a little longer!

s-p3ci4L-K 25 November, 2013 @ 4:43 pm   38

So what happens for those unfortunate enough that PS4 wont launch in 29/11 but on 13/12?

Any chance of getting Killzone Mega bundle pack on 29th November in Portugal?

s-p3ci4L-K 25 November, 2013 @ 5:09 pm   46

@hayzink yeah saw it afterwards
still sucks we wont have the PS4 with the rest of you guys on the 29th

mestrinhadulce 25 November, 2013 @ 5:18 pm   47

Another vote for Portugal please.
I’d love to be able to buy the Mega bundle for €500, this Friday… :D

I noted that digital download versions of all the big games are the same price on the US PS Store as the discs are on Amazon.com. That price is $60, which today translates to £36.98. why the uk being rip off

Now those of us lucky enough to get PS4 hardware early have access to the UK version of the Store, and we’ve had a nasty shock. Every game on there is way more expensive than both the US download and Amazon.co.uk’s disc price.

Just like it was mention here it would be cool (for me) if one of the two Sony Centers in Lodz would host some special event. But since the list ain’t 100% complete yet so… fingers crossed.

Although I should be kinda shamed to complain once you notice that there are 4 events in Poland while many European countries won’t probably have even one. Actually I wonder why is that? To be frank Poland ain’t bigger gaming market than UK for example.

Hey,

want to know when PlayStation 4 comes to Lithuania, because i can’t find it on the list. Thanks for answer.
