Introducing the PlayStation Store ‘Deal of the Week’

New deals every Wednesday, starting with FIFA 14 on PS3 and PS Vita

Hi all. I’m happy to announce that, in addition to your normal sales and promotions (this week’s Blockbuster Deals, for example), PlayStation Store will now also host a recurring Deal of the Week. Some of you may have seen similar one-off details crop up now and then in the past, but as of today these discounts will be a regular presence.

First up is the enormously successful FIFA 14 on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Purchase before 5th March 2014 and save big:

FIFA 14 (PS3) – Was £59.99/€69.99/AU$99.95, now £19.99/€29.99/AU$39.95

FIFA 14 (PS Vita) – Was £44.99/€49.99/AU$69.95, now £19.99/€24.99/AU$32.95

Let us know what you would like to see in future deals below, and check back each week for a new price cut.

Did you enjoy this?

“Let us know what you would like to see in future deals below”
—– a deal contains all Naughty Dog games re-mastered in 1080P/60FPS for PS4!!!!!

Would have considered PS4, but not legacy console or legacy version.

This is really great news. I’m very much looking forward to what you’ll have next week, not that big on FIFA personally. Also looking forward to the PS+ games for March ;-)

ErySakasegawa 27 February, 2014 @ 11:10 am   5

Can this still be upgraded to PS4 with the 10€ deal? (when buying the PS3 version of the game)

squiggledyboing 27 February, 2014 @ 11:10 am   6

any PS4 deals coming in the near future Jaswad?

Ok, we get it, you are trying to push Fifa, since apparently people dont want to shell out the asking price. This is like the third sale in two months for Fifa… And I would be willing to bet that next Wednesday will have a driving game. Can we get some RPG’s? Or some sort of Vita title that people actually want to play?

Better prices?

Agree on PS4. We can’t expect every digital title for PS4 to go onto the IGC so as weeks go on there will be a nice pile of games that could do with a discount, especially those that are cross-buy.

For example, I bought Sound Shapes last time it was on sale (prior to PS4 release) specifically because it was cross-buy for PS4. I would pick up Flower/Flow in a sale, if they’re not expected to be part of the IGC.

Failing that, Beyond for PS3 would be pretty nice in a sale…

Fifa 14 Vita is just a skin remake, so that’s about worth 10£ maximum. Please don’t buy Fifa 14 Vita, it’s the only way to send a message to EA, that we will not accept these overpriced weak updates.

this is terrible =( i saw this on the online store when i noticed there was no new sales announced and thought “this can’t be it”
the US gets two simultaneous sales, including a Vita Birthday sale that doesnt have much of a games selection but at least it’s there. Yes, Vita has turned 2 years old! did you forget? Please give us a propper sale, I’m sick of Fifa discounts, everyone who wanted Fifa already got it.

Why is the Vita price the same as the GB pound price for the PS3 version, but for other currencies it’s cheaper? I do like the deal of the week initiative, so long as the deals don”t turn up in Playstation Plus in 1/2 months time. In that regard i hope the rumors of Brothers coming to PS Plus are false because i bought it in the January sale.

A weekly deal is a good idea, especially when it is a ‘better than average’ deal. However, I think you guys should try to get some structure in your offerings first. There used to be a bi-weekly indie-offer on friday, which I *think* made a partly return recently, and the monthly deals are also waning a little in its third month already.
So, set up a plan, and try to stick with it for some time. Other than that, every deal is welcome of course!

Hi Jawad, I wonder what are the chances for a brand new games on PSN to hit that Deal of the Week. For example Thief being in Deal of the Week next Wednesday? Or similar situation that a just released game hits DotW within 1-2 weeks since release date.

    Jawad Ashraf 27 February, 2014 @ 11:30 am

There have been launch discounts in the past for some titles and these may pop up now and again in the future, but it’s unlikely there’ll be a deal on a brand new title so soon as after release.

@ErySakasegawa FIFA was never in the upgrade to PS4 deals.

GodOfWarGreece 27 February, 2014 @ 11:21 am   16

where is IGC games update for march?????

I agree ,

If this had been on PS4 I would have bought it.

Still nice to have regular weekly sale items

ErySakasegawa 27 February, 2014 @ 11:22 am   18

Thanks for the info, tat_sun. That’s really sad :/ I wanted FIFA 14 since I played the demo but the price is still way to high for the PS4 version, imo.

evilwitch83 27 February, 2014 @ 11:24 am   19

I would like to have a 25-50% plus discount on the deal of the week title. SCEA regularly gets 25-50% plus discounts while we only get 10% or no plus discount at all.

Wolf-forever 27 February, 2014 @ 11:26 am   20

Dragon’s Crown for PS3 and Vita will be very good deal of the week. US store had already Dragon’s Crown sale couple of times.

DarkArchoNx66 27 February, 2014 @ 11:27 am   21

It may seems like all we do is complain, but is not without reason. The current predicament is not even close to be considered fair for Eu customers compared to the other regions.. What’s worse is that there are hardly any attempts to improve things, let alone acknowledge the situation.

pearl_bunny 27 February, 2014 @ 11:27 am   22

come on sony nobody cares about ps3 anymore

£19.99 is about €24.36 according to today’s rate, but it is rounded to €29.99. Nice conversions :|

PS4 games like flower or fl0w please!

IGC announcement V late this month…

KenMarinaris 27 February, 2014 @ 11:33 am   26

1 Way of the Samurai 4
2 Prince Of Persia 2008 Epilogue DLC (still to expensive)
3 Treasures of the Sun Dungeon Siege 3 DLC (still to expensive)
4 Dead to Rights: Retribution GAC Pack DLC (still to expensive)

Thanks in advance.

Please make danganronpa trigger happy havoc the deal of the week soon
Can’t justify the price tag for two reasons, its expensive for whats considered to be a visual novel and it must have the worst name iv ever heard, but I still cant wait to play it. Thanks guys

chrisboers 27 February, 2014 @ 11:35 am   28

Can I suggest for the indie deals: Beat Hazard Ultra? I know it has been on sale before, but I only recently found out how great that game really is (on *cough* steam *cough*). But, I want to play it on my most favorite platform…

supersmith2500 27 February, 2014 @ 11:35 am   29

Oh joy, another EA title. -___-

Could we all get a sense of perspective here? Sales on PS4 titles will not happen anytime soon, it’s new tech and is thriving. Companies don’t start discounting their products just for the sake of it. Sony is a business, think about it.

I would also like to see Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc as a weekly deal.

Nice deal for those that like it, hope we got more in next weeks.

Definately the new batman. Cant wait to play the vita version

Some Jrpgs would be great!

Would love a Dragons Crown deal :D

i think PS4 should have some love too, but thanks

Why not fifa 14 ps4 version?????? Even if it would be for 40€, that would be a great deal

Silent_Gig 27 February, 2014 @ 11:43 am   38

What games will be covered in these Deals of the Week?
Will you touch PSP/PS1/PS2 games that you have sitting on the store?

Sound Shapes for Vita in next DotW and I am in.

INS1GHTFUL 27 February, 2014 @ 11:46 am   40

I’d love to have a discount on the Zen Pinball tables. Other platforms got discounts last year on all the tables except sony.
:-(

Also proteus. it looks like an interesting game but feels a bit expensive for a 2 hour-ish game.
thanks

@chekah forgot about that, looks like something I could lose a few day to. Ok then… Batman and then danganronpa please. Big up to sony dominating the next gen and nice to see they still hav more to give us. Cant wait for more games to appear on the ps4 which will also mean a better selection for the PsPlus IGC.

Can we have a nice discount on MLB 14 The Show the week of release please?

Nice initiative Jawad! But this week’s FIFA 14 (especially the PS Vita version which sadly is a reskin version of 2012′s FIFA Football, shame on EA) deal is a pretty expensive one, considering it is a yearly franchise.

I’d like to see these deals in the future, if possible:

MGS HD Collection (PS3/Vita)
MGS Ground Zeroes (PS3/4)
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Collection (PS3/Vita)
The Last of US + Left Behind bundle (for a reasonable price obviously, not €40 “deal”), or a GOTY version
Borderlands 2 (Vita)
Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate (Vita)
Tomb Raider Definitive Edition (PS4)
Injustice Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition (PS4/Vita)

TimeSkipLuffyUS 27 February, 2014 @ 12:01 pm   44

@Malesoun there have been many sales for almost all PS4 games for the US market…. If they can do it there then I don’t see a problem to do it for EU, too…

ScreenSplitter 27 February, 2014 @ 12:03 pm   45

Well really, anything that’s not a sports title. In particular;

Playstation All-Stars
Killzone Mercenary
Any PS1/PSP titles really

pinkplaybunny 27 February, 2014 @ 12:05 pm   46

Starting every Wednesday! Today is Thursday :-p

I hate football…

What I would like to see in future deals? I have been waiting for Ridge Racer: Ultimate Edition (Vita) discount far too long :(

You can never go wrong with a sale on Persona 4 Golden.

Diablo 3 for £20 would be nice

Why does everyone always complain about everything here? It is boring and childish.
