New on PlayStation Store: Dark Souls II, The Walking Dead, more

Hatsune Miku, Vessel and a fistful of discounts also go live this week

Dark Souls II is upon us! Enjoy a gripping RPG experience where traps, hazards and enemies are waiting to punish you. Let’s not forget the cheeky lingering souls that decide to trick you by leaving false messages either. Blast them!

Joining Dark Souls II is the latest episode in The Walking Dead – Season 2. Clementine has a lot on her plate as the past returns to haunt her. It wouldn’t be wise to speak much else lest I spoil the episode, so download it and enjoy.

Also out today is Vessel, a 2D puzzle game with unique liquid simulation to play around with. Solve puzzles in a number of ways as you create and interact with Fluros, a liquid machine of sorts our main character Arkwright invented.

This week’s update is also joined by vocaloid queen Hatsune Miku on PS Vita, The LEGO Movie The Videogame demo on PS4 and a Call of Duty promotion also running today. Finally, this week’s Deal of the Week is Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag on PS3. See below for full details!

I3loodthirsty 12 March, 2014 @ 3:03 pm   2

Another week with virtually nothing for ps4

jorispelgrom 12 March, 2014 @ 3:03 pm   3

Any chance you could also add file sizes to the blog post? It’s handy for those of us who visit the blog on a Vita ;)

All that FF13 DLC…. :/

Suzzopher 12 March, 2014 @ 3:05 pm   5

No Towerfall for us Euro peasants.

Meh I was hopping to gety something new today, bu nothing that interests me, oh well, next week.

JAwad, any news about The binding of Issac and/or rogue legacy for Vita?

    Jawad Ashraf 12 March, 2014 @ 3:11 pm

Keep an eye on the blog as Fred will have updates on both when news become available.

Nazar_Ops 12 March, 2014 @ 3:06 pm   7

- Batman Arkham Origins: Initiation
- Darksiders II: The Demon Lord Belial
- DmC Devil May Cry: Vergil’s Downfall
- Metal Gear Rising Revengeance: BLADE WOLF
- Metal Gear Rising Revengeance: JETSTREAM

Commandofin 12 March, 2014 @ 3:08 pm   11

You had/have Starhawk discounted, when will the DLC get discounted?

Robanthegiant 12 March, 2014 @ 3:08 pm   12

What time does Dark Souls 2 unlock on friday? please be midnight!
and…Where’s Towerfall?

    Jawad Ashraf 12 March, 2014 @ 3:13 pm

Can’t confirm the time yet but most likely early morning GMT.

Towerfall was submitted to us after SCEA. We’re working with the dev to push this out asap.

Weak PS4 week :/.

Kidjosa 12 March, 2014 @ 3:09 pm   14

are you freaking kidding me ?… over 6 million units sold and still you give us nothing on ps4 to do … seriously playstation is it that hard to maybe release 1 small game a week on there ? and when are we going to get octodad ? ..

maximalcheetor 12 March, 2014 @ 3:10 pm   15

Very disappointing week for the Vita again and I am saddened to see all of today’s PlayStation Mobile games have been shunned. Six games were released today including the best game to date from Thomas Hopper in the shape of Console Saga, yet there is no mention of them.

Can someone from SCEE please tell me when we will be getting some consistency when it comes to support for PlayStation Mobile?

    Fred Dutton 12 March, 2014 @ 3:18 pm

Tom will be on the blog later this week actually. We’ll make sure PS Mobile coverage is more comprehensive in future – thanks for your feedback.

the1free_man 12 March, 2014 @ 3:10 pm   16

The AC4 season pass – is that for ps3 only?

as for “Assassin creed black flag”, can i buy the PS3 version and get benifit from the upgrade to ps4 program? (i.e. pay extra 10 to get the ps4 version?

Churuya-nyan 12 March, 2014 @ 3:11 pm   18

>Dragon’s Crown (PS3) – Available in Russia from 14 March
Awesome!
Waiting for Atelier Meruru and many other games.

jorispelgrom 12 March, 2014 @ 3:11 pm   19

Oh, and why does the blog post include dollar prices now?

Fabivito 12 March, 2014 @ 3:12 pm   20

I mentioned last week that it would be handful to have info about deal of the week in the store update thread, not sure if you listened to me Jawad or had it planned all along but I’m glad to see it like this.

Tuulenpoika 12 March, 2014 @ 3:12 pm   21

I’d like to know if you are planning to have some sort of PSP Power Sale in the near future. Breath of Fire 3, Riviera, Lunar Silver Star Harmony, Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy 3, for example, could be given a healthy dicsount treatment.

Also, many essential titles have been missing in European PSN for PSP for years now. Any way for you guys to give us games like Parappa to be downloadable games, so we could play those ones on Vita, too? Parappa is one of too many games that we don’t have, even though the US store has had it and all those other games since way back.

There are still PSP gamers here. And we would like to have the good PSP games to be playable on Vita, too.

Wasn’t project diva f supposed to be 30 dollars and not euros?
http://blogs.sega.com/2014/02/14/hatsune-miku-project-diva-f-pricing-info-release-date/

Are the Toukiden missions actually new or are they the missions that came with pre-orders?

Zetroll44 12 March, 2014 @ 3:14 pm   24

still no dragon’s crown sale?

    Jawad Ashraf 12 March, 2014 @ 3:24 pm

We’re looking into it but it will take some time, unfortunately.

I3loodthirsty 12 March, 2014 @ 3:14 pm   25

@kidjosa octodad is due next month if it is then it will probably be aprils ps+ game as there isnt much else they can add for ps+ on ps4 atm

Can’t find Miku for Vita on the store yet, has it just not updated or something?

jamie-sixtyfour 12 March, 2014 @ 3:17 pm   27

Really disappointed at the lack of TowerFall :(

Bennison123 12 March, 2014 @ 3:18 pm   28

Hi Jawas, does the season pass for AC4 carry over to the PS4 version?

TeddyBearTwinkle 12 March, 2014 @ 3:18 pm   29

Jawad Ashraf when new ODDWORLD new&tasty game out

The Hatsune Miku game will be a day 1 purchase for me and fortunately it has a pretty reasonable price too.

Ants_Pai 12 March, 2014 @ 3:20 pm   31

Hatsune Miku just over £20?! Wish the PS3 version was that price too, definitely getting this for my Vita >:3 Any clue as to what the extra songs DLC contains?

DiogoM07 12 March, 2014 @ 3:21 pm   32

The Lego Movie is linked to the ps3 version, right? not ps4..

RoboAddy 12 March, 2014 @ 3:21 pm   33

What the hell SEGA? That Miku price is almost as much as I paid for a damn JP import.

LordRastan 12 March, 2014 @ 3:22 pm   34

hey… I was very excited with the deal of the week thing… but how about Vita?

This week is very poor… abes box and rotating octopus…?

please, could you confirm if there are any new sales for vita on the near future?

thanks!

TheLegendOfMart 12 March, 2014 @ 3:22 pm   35

Still no Infamous or Ground Zeroes pre-order. Beginning to regret buying PS4 they are showing more love for PS3 than PS4.

    Jawad Ashraf 12 March, 2014 @ 3:26 pm

As mentioned previously, we won’t be doing any PS4 pre-ordes at the moment. It is a work in progress.

Lethalx08 12 March, 2014 @ 3:23 pm   36

Any idea on the release date to Skullgirls Encore ?.

Also who can a moan to about the PS store kicking me to the XMB or crashing all the damn time. Been trying to get all the Zen Pinball tables & every 1-2 downloads it boots me. Been like this for months & non of the updates have addressed it. Even browsing can result in it booting me back to the XMB -_-.

transpondster 12 March, 2014 @ 3:23 pm   37

Where is TowerFall Ascension? c’mon, guys:/

    Fred Dutton 12 March, 2014 @ 3:26 pm

Unfortunately, the EU version was submitted later than the North American version. It’s racing through QA now and we’re hoping to have it out next week. We’ll confirm that asap.

maximalcheetor 12 March, 2014 @ 3:25 pm   38

Thanks for the reply Fred. If there’s anything we can do here at our site, Vita Player, to help with promoting PlayStation Mobile, please don’t hestitate to let me know through our Contact page.

mont348 12 March, 2014 @ 3:27 pm   39

With less than two weeks till the Resistance series servers are switched off,I think it’s disgracefull the DLC for both Resistance 2 and 3 and online pass for Resistance 3 are still on the store for a fee. It’s about time these were made available for free it’s long overdue?

Marvin-R 12 March, 2014 @ 3:27 pm   40

@TyHap: 30USD = 30-35EUR when dealing with games.
the dollar price listed here is AUD, and for gaming I think 40USD=70AUD usually.

UK_Rocklance 12 March, 2014 @ 3:30 pm   41

How is AC Black Flag (PS3) at £29.99 a deal of the week? Just like last week, you are rehashing another 12 Deals of Christmas. Except that AC Black Flag was £19.99 in Deal #10.

Again I have to say the same thing every week… For a game to be singled out as “deal of the week”, it should stand out from the rest of the regular weekly deals, instead of rehashing the same deal from the past with no further price reduction despite the game having aged. There needs to be some ground rules set when it comes to a “deal of the week” — at least certain % of discount, a promise that the game will not be in IGC for 6 months, must be a top-10 weekly best seller in the past 6 month, offering it only over the weekend etc.

As it is, would it make any difference if Black Flag is just one of the “Blockbuster Deals” or “Great Value Games”? Would it be any different if Battlefield 4 at £24.99 is called the “deal of the week” (instead of being part of Blockbusters)? I am sure it makes a difference to Sony (they must have certain agreement with the publishers for putting on the spotlight) but to us, the “deal of the week” totally LACKS IDENTITY.

I3loodthirsty 12 March, 2014 @ 3:31 pm   42

@thelegandofmart give up hope of pre orders on the scee store any time soon.they said a while a go that they wont be doing pre orders on ps4 store as they are “looking in to doing pre orders” its why i pre ordered second son on my usa account last week plus it will no doubt work out cheaper as well

Chijatsu 12 March, 2014 @ 3:32 pm   43

Would Asura’s Wrath DLC have a possibility of being discounted? I really wanted to play the additional chapters, but the asking price is too high for them. 30% would suffice. Plus, it would motive me to continue to play it as well.

Oh and btw, thanks for the surprise with One Piece! That sure was an unexpected charming game.

tiago_c 12 March, 2014 @ 3:33 pm   44

Are we getting the chibi avatares from Street Fighter? Also any news about Skullgirls Encore?.

eddibhoy 12 March, 2014 @ 3:34 pm   45

Any chance of a discount on Galaga legions dx?

Mark917 12 March, 2014 @ 3:34 pm   46

Either I can’t find it, or the full version Hatsune Miku isn’t in the store.

Any chance of the ACIV: Freedom Cry add-on being in a sale by itself some time in the future? I don’t have any interest in the multiplayer for this game so the season pass is a waste of money even at the discounted price. Freedom Cry for ~£5 would be an instant buy for me!

Bo Towerfall!?!??!?!

You know most of us (Ps4 owners) are waiting for it, why you didn’t say before? If you don’t say anything we expect the same as US. Now, for the first time since PS4 launch I am truly disappointed.

TheLegendOfMart 12 March, 2014 @ 3:43 pm   49

Can’t reply to you but Jawad you are saying PS4 has no plans for pre-orders on PS Store so that means if I want to buy digitally I can’t get the pre-order bonuses for Ground Zeroes?

What a way to reward early adopters.

Duckula 12 March, 2014 @ 3:46 pm   50

Is the Metal Gear: Ground Zeroes preorder going up today? (Along with the free Peace Walker HD download).
