Naughty Dog and Media Molecule share eight awards at the annual ceremony

As you may have read, last night saw the prestigious video game BAFTA awards ceremony take place in London, honouring the best interactive entertainment released in the past 12 months. And we’re really happy to report that it was a fantastic evening for PlayStation and our Worldwide Studios group.

First and foremost, Naughty Dog’s universally acclaimed PS3 action epic The Last of Us dominated proceedings, walking away with five awards:

  • Best Performer (Ashley Johnson)
  • Action and Adventure
  • Best Story
  • Audio Achievement
  • Best Game

Media Molecule’s charming PS Vita adventure Tearaway also had a phenomenal night, winning in three of the eight categories in which it was nominated:

  • Artistic Achievement
  • Family
  • Mobile & Handheld

The studios were out in force to collect their awards, with Naughty Dog’s Bruce Straley, Neil Druckmann and Evan Wells jetting in from California for the night, and Media Molecule’s Rex Crowle making the rather more manageable journey up from the studio’s Guildford HQ.
Take a look at the selection of images below for a taste of how the evening went down, and please join us in wishing enormous congratulations to both studios – and all the other nominees and winners! As ever, it was a great night for the medium.
