SingOn launches on PS3 this spring

Free-to-try singing game comes with 10 tracks, and thousands more to purchase

Hello and welcome to a new kind of singing game! SingOn is brought to you by SingOn Ltd. from Oulu, Finland. The company formed in 2009 with the goal to modernize singing games, turning them into something sleek and current.

The game has been designed for easy and agile usability so that everyone can grab a mic and have a good time straightaway. An important point for us is to make sure SingOn’s always current. Our dynamic streaming services allows us to launch with thousands of songs including rock, pop, indie, dance and hip-hop classics and to update the game every week with all the tracks from the UK Top 20 Chart. Even within the company we have widely varying music tastes so we know how important it is to offer something for everyone!

From a design point of view we wanted a simple, clean and modern interface. The lyrics are the heart of the game – guiding you on the melody and sparkling to let you know if you have sung high, low or on-pitch.

As well as great music, we’ve also included party-friendly voice effects TuneOn and RoboOn, re-tuning your singing or totally synthesising your voice, themed-playlists, real-time scoring and star ratings.

We didn’t want players to get frustrated hanging around waiting for the next track to be chosen. All you need to do with SingOn is plug in a mic and start singing. The Queue feature lets you add tracks while you sing using the PS3 controller or the SingOn app (iOS and Android) on your phone or tablet.

SingOn is free to download from the PS Store and comes with 10 great tracks to sing as often as you like. You can also buy a three (£2.99) or 48-hour (£5.99) Time Pass to access the full library of songs. And for serious singing aficionados, there’s a full one-year Time Pass available too (£49.99).

We’re still finalising our list of 10 free tracks so let us know what you’d like to see in there and we’ll see what we can do!

SingOn is being released this Spring 2014 for PlayStation 3. For more information be sure to check out: www.singon.com

Not a fan of singing games myself, but count me in for some metal, hard-rock and folk-rock.
Unlikely, I guess, eh?^^

Really nice idea, the concept of paying three quid to turn a PS3 into a fully-fledged karaoke machine for the duration of a party is really rather nice. It’d be good to see a PS4 version in the future

Just don’t put a permanent icon on the XMB, you’ll never hear the last of it

Hopefully this means the end of the SingStar icon!

Hopefully it’s not stuck permanently in the game section on the XMB. Create a Game Services section for stuff like this and Singstar. There’s separate columns for video and video services.

Does it mean that there will finally be a cure for the Singstar Virus soon? It’s stuck on XMB for months, and there’s just so many negative feelings whenever it’s the first thing that appears after starting the console. Kaspersky, Avast, McCafe, Norton, they were all helpless with telling me how to remove that… that… abomination.

Millions of current and potential PS4 owners watch this to see with interest to see if SCEE have learnt anything at all.

Funny, this reminded me of that Singstar XMB fiasco too. Hopefully we won’t see another disaster. ;)

Interesting idea though. Might give it a try with my wife (she’s our karaoke expert, I’m bad at singing myself). Good luck with your project!

I’d personally like to know what Sony have planned for SingStar.

Specifically a PS4 version that is capable of accessing/downloading the 80+ songs I’ve previously purchased on PS3.

It would serve Sony right if a Singstar rival came along and stole the thunder.

The PS4 version should be up and running by now.

What about that Singstar awful XMB icon?

Podyman 22 March, 2014 @ 7:11 pm   12

Same as SingOn, Singstar belongs to PS Store, not to my XMB!!!

Is this intended to replace SingStar? Is this why SingStar seems to be winding down in terms of update quantity and quality – and can’t confirm PS4 plans?

Any devs or admins chickened out and won’t respond here. It seems Xbox players managed to change Xbone, but we can’t even get Sony to remove the Singstar virus. Because “feedback.”

Являюсь участником ” Sing Star” редко, но иногда бывает, завожусь. Пользуюсь исключительно сетевым содержанием и хочу приобрести диск. А сейчас для меня загадка, если сменится вывеска, что будет с содержимым всего приложения?
