We’ve made a number of oft-requested changes and additions – find out more

It’s been six weeks or so since we launched the new-look PlayStation Blog. During that period we’ve been listening to your feedback and made a number of small tweaks and optimisations – maybe you’ve noticed them, maybe you haven’t. However, today we’re rolling out some significant – and oft-requested – new features that you won’t be able to miss.
The focus of the update is introducing a number of new commenting and community features that we hope should make PlayStation Blog a more user-friendly and enjoyable forum for discussion.
You can now reply directly to other commenters’ posts, making it easier to hold individual conversations. Further to that, we’ve added a simple kudos system that lets you give particularly wise, pertinent or entertaining comments a virtual ‘thumbs-up’. Please do use it – it will help us better track how you feel about particular issues and feedback sentiment to the relevant teams here at SCEE.

As requested by so many of you, we’ve also reinstated comment numbering and brought back country flags next to your author IDs. You can now customise how you view comments with our new chronology filter, we’ve changed the colour of author replies to make them easier to notice when browsing a thread, and each comment now has its own unique URL – just click on the date stamp. Finally, we’ve also increased the post limit from 1,250 characters to 2,500.
You’ll also notice a few smart new blog post formatting features, such as ‘pull quotes’, integrated picture captions and full-width in-line images. We hope these new additions help make PlayStation Blog a better place to hang out.
A few things to add. If you notice any bugs or quirks, or if you feel that the new commenting features could be more user-friendly in some way, please do let us know about it and we’ll do our best to work on a quick fix. Similarly, if there are additional features that you’d like to see added in the future, please raise them below. I know many of you have asked for some kind of ‘edit comment’ functionality. Unfortunately that was beyond the scope of this update, but it’s definitely on our shopping list for future development.
That’s all for now. Please do let us know your thoughts below.
