PlayStation Vita Pets: Puppy Parlour leaps onto mobile today!

Get to know your pups ahead of the full PS Vita game release in June

It’s not too long now until PS Vita Pets launches in June, but maybe that’s too long? So to keep you going until then we’ve just launched our mobile app, PlayStation Vita Pets: Puppy Parlour.

We wanted to give people the opportunity to get to know the pups in advance of the full game’s release and experience one of the core aspects at the same time so we put together the app to allow players to run their own Puppy pampering parlour. Each day a new dog will arrive into your parlour and you’ll be tasked with meeting their specific needs through a range of activities such as taking them for a walk, showering , feeding and playing in a number of different games.

Games like Dream Chase where you race to collect golden bones or Snack Balance where you tilt your device to keep your dog steady while it balances a tasty treat on its nose. Completing these games and looking after your pups will also earn you points that you can use to upgrade your parlour and unlock new items and clothes.

As you can see there’s loads going on! One of the really cool things about the app is that you can unlock exclusive costumes that can be transferred over to the main Vita game so they’ll be ready and waiting for your own pup in June when the game’s released.

So what are you waiting for?  Head on over to the Google Play Store and start downloading now!  The Apple iOS version will be available next week!

We’ll be back again soon with even more info on the game in the run up to release so keep your eyes on the blog!

Did you enjoy this?

It makes a nice change to see an app released on Android before iOS.

Any Pre-order offer on this PS Vita game?

For the last time, please change the title. For a game that only features dogs, you can’t very well call it Pets can you?

And I’m with the others. You’re releasing a PlayStation App that we can’t even play on our Vitas? You guys really don’t listen to your customers do you?

I have a question regarding the gameplay in this app: is it a part of the PSV game or is the gameplay exclusive to the mobile version?

Also, what the hell? I have an Xperia Z and can’t install this app?

Why would you want to play the App on the Vita when the GAME is on the Vita? Its a Companion App….like IFruit was for GTAV.
You can play with your pet, via your phone while away from the Vita

Because there are some of us out there that don’t have smartphones, or don’t have ones that are compatible.

And also because the Vita is pretty much left out to die when it comes to stuff like this. A PlayStation branded game belongs on a PlayStation.

It’s a good idea if you want to sell more Vitas though! Give the people who only own a smartphone or tablet a little taste of what they can expect if they buy a dedicated gaming handheld. I think we’ll see more of that in the future.
