Treasures of Montezuma: Arena is coming to PlayStation Vita

Coming as a downloadable free-to-play title featuring three all-new game modes

We are pleased to let you know that Treasures of Montezuma: Arena, our latest and greatest Treasures of Montezuma game, is finally coming to PlayStation Vita as a downloadable free-to-play title, and we hope you have been anticipating it as much as we have!

Featuring three all-new game modes, including dynamic turn-based puzzle RPG Story, multiplayer Tournament, and classic match-three Endless mode, Treasures of Montezuma: Arena encompasses the best there is in the history of the game. Moreover, it goes beyond that by introducing more tactical options than ever, thus becoming the largest addition to the series both in terms of sheer size and impact.

The story of the game revolves around ancient Aztec emperor, Montezuma, who was forced by the Spanish conquistadors to flee to an otherworldly place ruled by monsters, and fight through enemy ranks to reclaim his freedom and gain power to return.

However challenging the Story may be, there is hardly anything in this world that can beat the thrill of laying to rest a living human opponent in the multiplayer game, and that is where the Tournament mode really shines, justifying the Arena part of the game’s name and putting your skills to the test. Whether it is a single battle against a random player, a battle against friend (ah, that sweet feeling of triumph over someone you know well!), or participation in a weekly tournament to win a prize, the excitement of clashing with a cunning – or careless – human opponent is still strong. It will require a deep insight into the essence of all of the game bonuses, items and totems to prevail.

Bonuses and items provide many tactical opportunities and combinations and these can be acquired with Crystals – an in-game currency awarded for each battle. The more you play, the better you get, the more Crystals you receive. If you are too impatient for that, our Crystal store will gladly bid you welcome.

Should the need arise to take a relaxing meditative break from the heat of the combat, the option to unlock the classic match-three Endless mode will always be there for you. It will help you find matches as quickly as possible for an indefinite amount of time, until your score is high enough to reveal the deepest mysteries of the universe.

All the things players may have liked about previous games in the Treasures of Montezuma series have been reborn as something greater – a wider, deeper and more engaging tactical turn-based puzzle RPG, a completely new take on the old series.
