New on PlayStation Store: Ultra Street Fighter IV, PS Vita Pets, more!

Plus, Murdered: Soul Suspect, PixelJunk Shooter Ultimate and Monster Monpiece

Street Fighter wouldn’t be what it is without an update or two and this time Capcom deliver once more with Ultra Street Fighter IV. Elena, Hugo, Rolento and Poison enter the already jam packed arena alongside new stages and importantly refined gameplay mechanics for the theory fighters to argue over once more.

Fighting isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, so perhaps check out Murdered: Soul Suspect. Solve your own murder from the afterlife using Ronan’s detective skills coupled with his new found supernatural abilities. What answers will you find?

Also coming this week: the June PS Plus games re-fresh, animal adventure/pet sim PlayStation Vita Pets, card battle game Monster Monpiece and a PlayStation 2 title – Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga. See below for the full round up.

Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga available? Awesome

    onlineatron 4 June, 2014 @ 4:59 pm

    5pm…..still no update…..

    super great job guys

i’ll admit i have no idea what pressures you are working under, i have little understanding of how this whole system works

but you need to get this update mess together

i’m talking set times weekly, earlier times (morning, heck! tuesday!), parity with the us store (same content at the same time—1001 spikes!)

it’s getting super hard to stay supportive

Well, PS plus games are free already if you search by the title. And for SMT search like this: SMT: Digital Devil Saga

Why on earth is Murdered: Soul Suspect £50 on PS4 >_>
The physical limited edition is £40 everywhere. Why are digital prices on PS4 being put up to a premium.

Because SCEE loves money. They basically take whatever SCEA works out in sweat, add a big price tag to it, and then bath in the extra money from their penthouses.

    Mardolina 4 June, 2014 @ 3:12 pm

They just don’t want you to buy digital. Simple publisher’s reasoning these days.

    StefNighthawk 4 June, 2014 @ 3:29 pm

    Because Square-Enix …

    ScooterMix 4 June, 2014 @ 3:32 pm

The Game too cheap at Asda look there save more money.

    tycho2 4 June, 2014 @ 3:33 pm

PSN is a closed marketplace, so there can be no competition, so they can charge whatever they like. And while people are stupid enough to keep paying the inflated prices why would they lower them voluntarily?

    ven642 4 June, 2014 @ 3:34 pm

i think i can help, because the PS4 is populer and people will pay a good price for another game. and MSS is £39.99 on amazon uk LE.

    Dermado 4 June, 2014 @ 5:11 pm

    Id add to Mardolinas point.
They dont CARE if you buy things digital. If you dont? Thats fine, youll buy it physical, if you do? WEll you must be fine with the price and therefore it doesnt need to change.
    You cant win.

    Dermado 4 June, 2014 @ 5:12 pm

Yet more dissapointing, overpriced, underwhelming content and underwhelmed players, SCEE needs to just go away -.-

    Thunderlizzard 4 June, 2014 @ 5:26 pm

Because they want the small profit from the physical version’s £40 price tag minus manufacturing costs, distribution costs and retailer costs and they really want you to then share it with all of your mates and then trade it in for a pittance so a second retailer can make a further profit selling it on again to somebody else to share with all their mates.

God forbid they sell you, your mates and the second hand guy a nice digital version for £30 each, give Sony a nice cut and then sit back thinking “actually we’ve done alright here and there’s no resale losses to worry about either, why did we not think of this before?”.

    Scuffy_P 4 June, 2014 @ 10:14 pm

The blame for the outrageous pricing on ALL digital versions of retail games lies at both the publisher and Sony’s feet.
Sony charge the publisher a fee to sell via PSN (Sony don’t host, and flatout refuse to cover all hosting costs hence why the PS4 will never have any demos available, whereas the XBO has a dozen already). A non negotiable fee too.
The publisher take into account Sony’s charge, then add the same amount back onto the digital price so in effect, they’re not loosing any money from selling via PSN.
Until Sony become flexible in their pricing, the publisher’s will never drop their prices. Even when a digital retail game goes “on sale”, Sony STILL demand the same fee.
Both Sony and the publisher’s need to work together in creating a fairer and better system, because until that day digital retail will NEVER become standard.
    Greed rules EVERYTHING.

    Scuffy_P 4 June, 2014 @ 10:22 pm

    PS:
When Sony say “We don’t set the prices, the publishers do”, they are telling the truth. What they don’t tell the consumer is the reason why the publisher’s set the prices so high is due to them refusing to drop their percentage/fee for selling via PSN.
I could understand this IF Sony hosted the games for sale, but they don’t. They never have. So when a small developer wants to have a demo on PSN to help them selling their game, they can’t because they simply haven’t the money to do so.
Microsoft (and Nintendo) know how freaking crazy this is, and offer to cover the hosting cost for all developers demos. That’s why 99% of all XBLA games had demos last gen, against 20% on PSN. This gen, it’s going to get A LOT worse. If Sony refuse to help these small indie dev’s during the launch window of the PS4, they’re certainly not going to change their mind over the next 7-10 years.
It’s narrow minded, foolish, greedy, and just plane idiotic.

    PPS:
There is not point complaining, no point campaigning, especially on this blog because other than the blog staff…no one reads anything we write. No one hears the complaints, no one cares. As long as we keep buying “they” don’t give a…

    Mirabeau23 5 June, 2014 @ 12:22 pm

It’s simple really. By cutting the wholesalers and the retailers out of the distribution channel, they save the money that those businesses would have taken. They are then able to pass those savings onto their loyal customers through HIGHER PRICES. Hold on…

Omisnad 4 June, 2014 @ 3:04 pm   3

… and no pinball arcade dlc LOL

Go home SCEE, you’re drunk. Murdered Soul Suspect 100$ on EU PSN, while US PSN has it for 60$. That’s over 60% more expensive.

Also, Thief “deal of the week” has already been placed on that other “sale,” and in both cases it’s still far more expensive. Physical copies can be bought for around 25euro for PS4, so what’s the point?

Bound by Price – Never Forget Movement

    LordBeloved 4 June, 2014 @ 3:13 pm

Actually. ;) It’s 40% more expensive, including difference in exchange rates.

    Archacus 4 June, 2014 @ 3:23 pm

Austrlian dollars… but yeah… Australians got bad luck

Meh, converted to PLN, it usually comes out around 60% more as well.

    blendercat27 4 June, 2014 @ 3:42 pm

So go live in the US.

Every business has to pay their workers and their taxes. They cannot pay their workers US wages, and they cannot pretend like they exist in the US economy. This is why you do not pay US prices for products sold in your region. You’re not special just because you want a video game at a foreign market price.

You’re not going to get cheaper digital prices either. Because publishers still need physical retailers in order to survive. It’s that simple. If you don’t want to pay that price for a digital copy, then buy a physical copy. If you can’t, then import. If you can’t, tough luck.

Please stop embarrassing yourself posting this “Bound by price” stuff every week.

    Archacus 4 June, 2014 @ 3:55 pm

    @blendercat27
Enough of this… you are just embarrassing yourself.

UK is not whole EU… and they also can’t pay their wages when you are buying games by US account… and if having HQ in UK is too expensive than move out! Poland, Romania, Lithuania, Hungary, Slovenia, Czech are waiting, and will be happy to open a new HQ…

And sadly I’d love to buy at retailer chain shop… but I CAN’T … SCEE was so incompetent that they didn’t even care about ensuring that EU will get physical copies of games. So unless you have something clever to say -> shhh!

    adored 4 June, 2014 @ 4:32 pm

    @LordBeloved
Actually, it’s 66.6% more expensive (the US version is 40% less than the EU version).

You should probably try and be a bit better at maths before criticising someone else’s.

    LordBeloved 4 June, 2014 @ 6:35 pm

    LOL!!

US price is $60, NZ price is $100.

    $100NZD = 84USD

    84/60 = 1.4

    Mirabeau23 5 June, 2014 @ 12:27 pm

I feel sorry for games like Thief. Before the internet, games could be terrible and most people would be none the wiser. As long as the box art looked good, the game would probably sell well. Now that most people read a few reviews before dropping £50 on a game, games like Thief and Murdered Soul Suspects have no hope. Oh and by the way, Thief was actually £60 for the first three days it was on PS Store. I feel for those who dived in before reading the reviews.

And still no deals on RPG like the USA, they had Golden Week and now this flash sale, screw it next time I’m getting plus on a USA account.

    Nesther 4 June, 2014 @ 4:48 pm

Things just work differently. We had a JP-summer sale last year, which the US never got.

    OtakuD 4 June, 2014 @ 4:52 pm

Well I guess getting a NA account is mandatory then….

Commandofin 4 June, 2014 @ 3:07 pm   6

Starhawk Build & Battle DLC discounted to 1€ per pack please.
PS: I still want Shadow of the Colossus OST to the store.

THUNDERCAT1973 4 June, 2014 @ 3:07 pm   7

well Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga for me, but rest is pretty dire. thief 4 really should of been £20 for the ps4 as a lot of places are selling it for between £20-25 now.

Fr34kyUK 4 June, 2014 @ 3:08 pm   8

Trine 2 still showing as £14.49 on store :(

    legionari 4 June, 2014 @ 3:21 pm

Store normally updates at 16:00 in the UK

    ThugETH 4 June, 2014 @ 4:12 pm

It’s always been around midday for me, today is the latest I’ve ever experienced the update, none of the plus games are live yet.

    mike_291990 4 June, 2014 @ 4:38 pm

Pixeljunk is available (though you need to search for it) but yeah this is latest I’ve seen it put up. Usually up a lot earlier.

    Mirabeau23 5 June, 2014 @ 12:30 pm

It’s a great game, I’m not even bitter that I paid for something I could have had for free. It was worth every penny.

Alestes 4 June, 2014 @ 3:08 pm   9

The price for the Drakengard 3 prologue DLCs is a joke, guess I will wait for a sale then.

Any news on the wolf among us episode 4 availabl?

    sukizo2134 4 June, 2014 @ 3:16 pm

The Wolf Among Us episode 4 is already up! Just search for ‘The Wolf Among Us” and it should come up in the search results; if you have the season pass, you can start the game and download it from there. It has been available since this weekend, if I remember correctly.

    Ryuzaki1993 4 June, 2014 @ 3:17 pm

It IS available my good friend, check it out on the store search :-D Have a nice day

Wolf Among Us Episode 4?

LordBeloved 4 June, 2014 @ 3:09 pm   12

I thought the “Deal of the week” was supposed to be something extra, besides the regular sales. This is the second week where the “Deal of the week” is just a reiteration of the sales we got earlier.

kivi95 4 June, 2014 @ 3:09 pm   13

Murdered: Soul Suspect (PS4) even thought it got mediocre reviews they try to rip-off with price. Should have been €49.99

That high price is actually there to scare away potential buyers, so they wouldn’t buy it. No one buys it – fewer people left disappointed. I mean, who in their right mind would buy a game for 100$? That’s just stupid.

    Mirabeau23 5 June, 2014 @ 12:32 pm

The only people that buy it will be streamers because they know they’ll get views from people who want to see how bad it is.

Lance_87 4 June, 2014 @ 3:09 pm   14

Hey Jawad, where’s the price reduction for Lords of Shadow 2 in Europe? Many gaming sites reported that both digital and physical version would’ve received a price cut, and that now it’ll cost 30 euros. But i still see it at 50 euros? What gives?

    Lance_87 4 June, 2014 @ 3:10 pm

And i forgot to say, it was Konami that announced the price cut.

    Jawad Ashraf 4 June, 2014 @ 3:24 pm

I don’t know any details on it yet but it’s likely under discussion between our team and Konami. If it does happen we’ll list it for you.

    Basket21 4 June, 2014 @ 3:25 pm

SCEE doesnt do price cuts announced by publishers.

They also skipped it on guitar hero songs etc .. every platform had it discounted cause theywere getting removed (PS US/XBOX EU/XBOX US/Wii) except SCEE.

When i asked i got the comment ‘we dont plan to discount those songs but u can buy em anyway”

So dont get your hopes up.

    SCEE is the evul.

    Lance_87 4 June, 2014 @ 3:29 pm

So, in other words, they’ve announced something that it’s NOT happening? Something done for Europe, not done by Europe? <_<"

Gamesgbkiller 4 June, 2014 @ 3:10 pm   15

Plus games aren’t up.. it’s not usual.

I hope it’s not late.

ScooterMix 4 June, 2014 @ 3:10 pm   16

Well at least there old ps2 classic and first better ps4 demo but know xbox owners can get AAA xboxone game for free so where is AAA game for PS4 its like ps4 best seller snd ps4 need 1 AAA game for free.

Warning not looking forward for more indie games

    StevenJamesHyde 4 June, 2014 @ 3:23 pm

The XBox One Games With Gold are not AAA. Max: Curse of the Brotherhood is an indie and Halo Spartan Assault is a port of a Windows Phone game

    Mirabeau23 5 June, 2014 @ 12:33 pm

On the subject of PS2 games, where’s the PS1/PS2 emulator for PS4 that was promised?

Where the hell is wolf among us episode 4??

kivi95 4 June, 2014 @ 3:11 pm   18

I mean geez €20 more for next gen? And this is almost even a straight up port announced only a few months ago for PS4.

Lozjudai 4 June, 2014 @ 3:12 pm   19

Can you please explain why Digital Devil Saga is not available in Finland?

    Jawad Ashraf 4 June, 2014 @ 4:46 pm

As is the case with every title, the publisher must specifically call out which locales receive it. Unfortunately in this case the above locales have been left out.

RyanSufc1997 4 June, 2014 @ 3:12 pm   20

Hey I have two questons for you.
1) Why is the Theif demo not in EU yet? It is in America.
2) Why is everyone having issues getting Watch_Dogs tropheys? I should have 2 but they didn’t pop (I have contacted both ubi and sony support but no answers yet)

Thanks guys!

    BigBoyBanksy 4 June, 2014 @ 3:19 pm

I had a similar problem, I was trying to get a trophy for a good hour without knowing I already had it, it showed up in my trophy list as having it but it never popped. Clearly a bug if other people are having problems with the trophies

    RyanSufc1997 4 June, 2014 @ 4:01 pm

@BigBoyBanksy it’s not even in my trophy list. It hurts me more than it should as I have tried everything to get it to pop… It’s hugely distracting as I don’t feel comfortable to continue incase either other trophy’s don’t pop or I have no way of platinuming without loosing the save (silly that you can only have one save too!)

    dark_angel69 4 June, 2014 @ 5:53 pm

What trophy have you been having problems with? I hear playing a few games (chess, etc) means needing to play more than what the trophy is asking for which is one of them that is a problem. What others do you have? So far I haven’t came across any with a problem.

    RyanSufc1997 4 June, 2014 @ 6:46 pm

I need the Act 2 completion trophy as well as the System Mangler one (Complete every ctOS breach) I should have them however I don’t and it would require playing through again (I guess it wouldn’t be so bad if we could have more than one save!)

Heres my PSN profile showing the ones I have http://psnprofiles.com/RyanSufc1997

    dark_angel69 4 June, 2014 @ 7:49 pm

Did you check the progress to see how many missions have been completed to have finished Act 2? If you have them all completed then you might need to start again. For System Mangler there are 16 ctOS Breaches so again check to see how many you have done. If you don’t have 16 yet then keep playing and they will come.

    RyanSufc1997 4 June, 2014 @ 8:44 pm

@dark I certainly deserve them, I would not waste my time contacting support over it! I don’t mean to be rude if this seems rude. I am a little confused at how this messed up, for me and many many others, and I do hope Sony or Ubisoft compensate us for it (with the trophy’s been awarded through server like means)

iARDAs 4 June, 2014 @ 3:13 pm   21

Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory (PS3) – Now available in Russia
The Guided Fate Paradox (PS3) – Now available in Russia
Finally.

@Jawad Ashraf
Other members of blog team are ignoring my questions, so i’ll try to ask you.

When Atelier Escha & Logy and Atelier Meruru Plus will be available in Russian PSN?
TK said that all settled long time ago and now everything depends on the PSN.

    OtakuD 4 June, 2014 @ 3:16 pm

I would get Escha & Logy from USA if I was you, it’s on sale atm and I doubt we will have a sale anytime soon, been asking for weeks now.

    Jawad Ashraf 4 June, 2014 @ 3:26 pm

I couldn’t say. It depends when the publisher sent through what was needed and then the time needed to have it all approved. Keep an eye on the blog for any updates in the mean time.

    CoolBeard 4 June, 2014 @ 3:40 pm

Thanks for answer. It took a lot of time, but i got it.
Now it’s time to think about switching to the torrent-versions of games from some publishers.

never weve been asking for 2 years!!!!!

    mellan_Konsten 4 June, 2014 @ 5:18 pm

Haven´t they answered several times that it’s up to netflix and not sony and as I understans it the same goes for crunchy roll?

    RoronoaSouthe 4 June, 2014 @ 6:01 pm

There’s nothing to stop Sony asking Netflix/Crunchyroll about a release and then telling us straight. There’s obviously a demand, Sony could then say “we asked and there will be no EU release” That way we know it’s down to Netflix/Crunchyroll. Until then there both to blame as its Sony’s console and they could be doing more to help us, rather than leaving it to others.

Hi Jawad, is there any chance for a wipeout sale? I would like to double dip the psp games so i can play them on the vita.

zalwelgoedgaan 4 June, 2014 @ 3:16 pm   25

Download Dragon’s Crown for the Vita! You unlock online multiplayer after you’ve beaten the game, but you can use other people’s warriors that you encounter online. Feel free to friend me and I’ll complete quests with you. :]

aeonlord92 4 June, 2014 @ 3:16 pm   26

I know it’s down to the publisher/developer, but any chance you could ask NISA to see if they’ll consider lowering Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention’s price or put it on sale soon? It’s still £34.99 and it’s been out for over 2 years now, plus Disgaea 4 is coming to Vita in August, can’t have them both at that price surely… I mean £34.99 is the same price as newly released games :/

Other than that, nice update for me, Drakengard 3 DLC, Dynasty Warriors 8 DLC and Digital Devil Saga – sweet! :D

deadmanaus 4 June, 2014 @ 3:17 pm   27

The Wolf Among Us Episode 4 is live on the site, I only found out this morning that it has been available in Europe since 30th May however we weren’t told.
If you still can’t find it on the store download it in the episode section in the game itself.
It works because I downloaded it and played it this morning.

    Mardolina 4 June, 2014 @ 3:34 pm

We weren’t told? How do you think I have found out about the episode? Through the blog announcement last week.

mc_pot 4 June, 2014 @ 3:17 pm   30

another week of inacurate pricing in comparison to the rest of the world, why do we keep getting treated like second class citizens this really does need to stop surely its illegal????

    blendercat27 4 June, 2014 @ 3:54 pm

You’re being unfair. They’re not gouging you. They’re not doing anything illegal. They’re not doing anything wrong.

You cannot expect to be charged foreign prices. You live in a totally different economy. Businesses in your country cannot operate as if they magically exist in another country. You’re being charged a fair price for your region. Your price also includes VAT. US prices do not include sales tax, as it is determined by each state, and is added on top of the advertised price where applicable.

You want US prices? Okay You want to live and work in the US for as low as $7.25 per hour? I didn’t think so.

$7.25 per hour? That actually sounds quite amazing compared to Eastern Europe’s wages.

    ThugETH 4 June, 2014 @ 4:31 pm

I know right as if these guys that complain in EVERY SINGLE BLOG POST actually complain at the petrol station about fuel prices when they fill up their car? Or in the store when they buy some jeans? But it’s ok to complain on the internet when they are faceless.

    Dermado 4 June, 2014 @ 5:21 pm

And out come the SCEE defenders x_X.
Yes, its more than acceptable to expect equal treatment to SCEA. To not be lied to, to be told relevant accurate information, to expect the same quality of games at the same prices.
Now its true, despite years of complaining (Singstar is Evil petition with several hundred thousand signatures) SCEE dont even acknowledge it, they dont care about you, they never will. It will not get better, unless a large number of people are fired and made an example of.
Now, its true, we dont know what limits they have, we can only blame those that we see and not the higher ups. Most people arent aware they are being treated terribadly compared to anywhere else because they dont realise how much better they have it.
But, you have to hope that eventually they notice, when 90% of every blog posts are complaints? Yeah.

    GradonPrower 4 June, 2014 @ 7:36 pm

I’m sorry but defending SCEE over the prices is bull. The prices are above physical when they are the same in US for physical and digital. They didnt raise PS4 prices because of tax, PS3 and PS4 games are same price in US. They should have been here in EU too.

bravo SCEE you fail once again while SCEA delivered Day one DLC for monster monpiece censorship was not bad enough now we lack more content for it.

What’s the point of Deals of the Week, when they are going to be same games copied from other sales? Did someone got drunk last night and forgot to put something original there? And do Europeans always have to pay for that someone’s hangover?

Just noticed that someone might just leave out one or two games from sales and move them to deals of the week out of laziness after that comment. Sigh.

well ill be getting Digital Devil Saga for my ps3. as for the rest of the games, this is just very disappointing. Seriously the US gets all those games for a great price in the flash sale, while the EU gets this stale crappy list of games with a laughable price tag. If digital games are the future with these laughable prices, then ill for sure be done with gaming. Ill never pay £45+ for a video games, thats nuts. hopefully next week whoever is in charge of the content manager or whatever, can for ONCE put the persona games on sale. Im sick of seeing the same old boring games being put on sale.

I’d just like to inform that Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends DLC Stage & BGM Pack 9 & 10 still don’t have all the BGMs they should have on PS3. They only have Dynasty Warriors 7 BGMs but not the any of the Dynasty Warriors 3-6 BGMs. They work just fine on PS Vita.

Good week for Vita.

Speaking of, are the PSP Silent Hill games going to be made compatible with Vita any time soon? Konami announced them for Vita ages ago and they’re still PSP only… I keep bringing this one up, but I don’t get an answer.

    ScooterMix 4 June, 2014 @ 3:38 pm

They shoud because psp online closeing dow end of this month so whats best moments you had with your psp online anyone.

    BluSpykz 4 June, 2014 @ 3:39 pm

When Konami put the blog post up for the release of both Silent Hill games, I questioned it, saying they said months back it was coming “for Vita” – the Konami mod got back to me, and said they were to be “PSP only”.

    madmanwithabox12 4 June, 2014 @ 3:42 pm

So Konami lied? I don’t get why they put games up only for PSP… and Sony wonders why Vita is struggling.

1. We are still waiting for explanation. Fred said that he will do what he can to explain all things… but… with no result. If you can’t just say so!

2. And where are japanese imports? It took you… 3 weeks to bring us DDS1… (or 2?)… guys… how can we even treat you seriously?

3. I’m sometimes wondering what does S in SCEE stands for… slackers? slouch?

Btw… I heard new joke : how many SCEE workers you need to one change light bulb? Non because it is at the discretion of publishers…

SCEE stop making fooooooool of yourself! We are having hard time to treat you seriously! And you guys are breaking all of our efforts with your silliness.

The European Division of Sony is actually called SMEE – Sony Money Entertainment Europe.

    Archacus 4 June, 2014 @ 3:48 pm

    No wait… I take back what I said… you still didn’t bring DDS1 to EU…

Not available in Belgium, Demark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Ukraine

Is that supposed to be joke? You guys expect that we will treat you like a cultural people… but forget it…. you are spitting in our face… and after all that mumbo jumb about spending more time to reply to our questions/needs you guys once again went missing.

    markoste13 4 June, 2014 @ 5:22 pm

Ναι από Ελλάδα! Έγινε update της εφαρμογής του store και δε με βάζει πλέον στο store…

Was planning to buy Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga, but once again discover that it isn’t available in the same countries as with Chaos code and Blazblue: chronophantasma. Sigh….

Just curious and hoping someone from SCEE can answer this, but did these countries have some new laws or right issues making SCEE not able to release these games? Because these countries never had this problem (games or dlc unavailable) before up until this year.
I somehow have a hard time to believe that the problem lies with the publishers not wanting to release the games in these countries. Especially since the publishers are different, but the countries that get left out are the same.

    zalwelgoedgaan 4 June, 2014 @ 4:12 pm

We never got Counter Strike GO PS3 in Europe while Xbox 360 got it worldwide, and Counter Strike isn’t exactly a niche franchise. Many things go on behind the screens that we’ll never find out, but they do need to loosen up certain policies to make the lives of developers/publishers easier.

I mean, we can’t even get avatars. AVATARS. 100kb ping images. It’s crazy.
