Great sale I love Sony and will buy a ps4 when you bring mp3 support and remove the paywall!:)

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:03 am

Rivals, Tomb Raider and Metal Gear Rising: Revengence have pretty good prices for PS3 :) Probably buying MGR is the fighting as much fun as in Sleeping Dogs? Its melee-heavy right?

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:05 am

Hopefully we see some more sales this week but this is a great start already for E3 :)

    Vashetti 4 June, 2014 @ 11:35 am

The paywall will not be removed, it’s pretty much ‘free’ money for them.

    eoinoreilly24 4 June, 2014 @ 11:36 am

@BaneyFunny. The combat in MGR is almost entirely melee. It’s a very fun, short game but it’s not quite like sleeping dogs. The pace is much much faster and the counters work very differently. I would say it’s well worth the asking price in this sale, but if you’re looking for melee combat like Sleeping Dogs, try the Batman Arkham games while they’re still on sale.

    Lt_Combo 4 June, 2014 @ 12:38 pm

Removing the “paywall” as you call it would be the dumbest move Sony can make .. it’s the new reality, deal with it. Not everything is free in this world, Sony also has to pay for it’s infrastructure, servers etc. If you want a GOOD online service it’s going to cost money. It’s one of the biggest reasons I chose 360 over PS3 last gen. I want a good reliable and fast service. I want everything to work as it should. I don’t want Sony to have to pick the cheapest solutions like last gen. I want constant software updates, new features etc .. all of this cost money.

If you were PS+ member you would already have MGR and Tomb Raider ;)
(beside Sleeping Dogs and many other games…)

    xDarkSlayer224x 4 June, 2014 @ 2:12 pm

There is no paywall. You have to pay to play online multiplayer, but all apps and party chat are free.

If you’re talking about removing the fee to play online, that’s never gonna happen.

    CoolRichy007UK 4 June, 2014 @ 2:37 pm

what paywall just use network cards

Nah, nothing interesting.

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:15 am

For a 12 year old female wrestler? Or who is on your avatar? Tastes are different gladly there is some great games in this sale for almost everyone (except that 12 year old female wrestler, but even she might enjoy tomb raider for example :) )

    Mardolina 4 June, 2014 @ 11:42 am

    Do not ever insult Phi!

    fps_d0minat0r 4 June, 2014 @ 12:07 pm

    @ BaneyFunny
His disinterest is probably more to do with the prices than the actual games.

    Nesther 4 June, 2014 @ 12:18 pm

Yeah the prices are pretty horrible, especially when it comes to PS4 stuff.

Also the 12-year old wrestler comment makes 0 sense.

    DoYouLikeMyID 4 June, 2014 @ 1:27 pm

    @Nesther

    Don’t you mean “Zero”? ;)

    CoolRichy007UK 4 June, 2014 @ 2:38 pm

BaneyFunny likes any female wrestler LMAO

Chijatsu 4 June, 2014 @ 11:06 am   3

You guys sure that those are the discount prices? It looks like 10£ discounts on the ps4 games. Maybe my browser is glitching or something, because it does not look like discounts to me…

Anyway, Dragon’s Crown is going to to be free today! Finally!

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:09 am

Remember you can play those psn games on 2 consoles (at least!) :)

    AkodoRyu 4 June, 2014 @ 12:45 pm

@3.1. You can’t on PS4, at least not without a hassle of giving someone your account credentials, other person giving you his and being always online.

I, to, am mighty disappointed in those sales. ACIV, BF4, NFS:R, LEGO: Marvel – those are all old games. I’ve bought Black Flag for ~ the same price as is now on PS3 sale last November, but than it was still upgradable to PS4. LEGO Marvel – got it for PS4 ~Feb for 50% off. Those discounts are waaay to low. 66% off is what would be appropriate for those games now.

Not to even mention base price is 70 instead of proper 60 euro. No thank you.

Nice! But I still have old prices, without discounts :( (Poland)

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:09 am

AS EVERY WEEK, it will be updated around evening 5pm or so :-) sometimes a bit earlier. They are just nice & friendly and letting us know of these discounts earlier so we can plan the evening with booze and fun and new cheap games!

    RadSzym 4 June, 2014 @ 11:49 am

    Oh! Thank you BaneyFunny!

INS1GHTFUL 4 June, 2014 @ 11:06 am   5

Nice sale.
I recommend NFS Most Wanted on vita.

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:10 am

    Yes great game!!

    JayManGamer 4 June, 2014 @ 11:43 am

Agreed! I bought it last time it was on sale even though I already own it on PC, it’s pretty fun. :P

    Majik_Meerkat 4 June, 2014 @ 11:59 am

A great game, I just traded in my Card so I can get it on PSN. Looking forward to the increase of people on multiplayer

link1983 4 June, 2014 @ 11:08 am   6

Mortal Kombat 9 (2011) DLC could really use a discount. A little sad to see Octodad reduced so soon. Maybe I should old off on day one PSN purchases now?

    Finkhald 4 June, 2014 @ 2:22 pm

When Octodad was released in US, it had a similar day-one sale, exclusively for PS+. EU Didn’t. When called upon that, the developpers stated that they messed up the day-one PS+ in EU, and that they would make it up ASAP. So, I guess this is it.

bilalsouda 4 June, 2014 @ 11:10 am   7

how come that Battlefield 4 and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag are £19.99 for each on PS3 and £44.99 on PS4

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:13 am

Because the demand on ps4 is higher, these people even accepted the psn paywall so they are happy to also pay more for games.

    Vashetti 4 June, 2014 @ 11:29 am

Yup, shameful pricing. I’d have bought AC4 again on PS4 if it was £19.99.

    Vashetti 4 June, 2014 @ 11:31 am

£44.99 is not a sale price for a PS4 game. I can get a physical copy for that price.

Vashetti – you can get a physical copy for less than half the price actually.

    Vashetti 4 June, 2014 @ 11:47 am

Where to? I traded in AC4 for inFamous and I want to get AC4 back. Don’t want to buy used if I can avoid it.

Check Allegro.pl, sometimes they allow shipping abroad. Though you’d probably need to know the language. Most used games can be bough under 25euro.

Really disappointed that the AC4 Season Pass is discounted for a second time but still Freedom Cry has not been discounted. As someone who has no interest in the MP the season pass is not much of a deal!

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:14 am

some people always complain :D and freedom cry was on sale. Not sure if only the standalone or dlc tho. Is there not coming more story dlc for ac4?

Wasn’t Freedom Cry a part of the season pass?

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:25 am

yes Viryu but he is saying there will only be one story dlc so the season pass isnt worth it as its now the same price as if you only buy the dlc. Not sure if there really is only one story dlc planned for ac4? It should be two.

Ubisoft did kinda lower their standards with that though. Most of the DLC for Black Flag is just couple character models for multiplayer. AC III had a lot of story DLCs in comparison.

    Rochala 4 June, 2014 @ 11:31 am

Freedom Cry was in Discount some weeks ago.

    Lt_Combo 4 June, 2014 @ 12:46 pm

Freedom cry is pretty boring … I bought it hoping I would like it (as I LOVED Blood dragon, it even made me buy FC3 which I also loved) .. but Freedom Cry has to be one of the most boring games ever. .. that said .. I find all AC games boring. The game also looks very mediocre, heard something about the digital copies being lower in res/not having the res update so maybe that’s it.. but I found the game to be mediocre.. played it for a while (had to force my self) .. I just couldn’t get in to it .. also the tutorials are HORRIBLE. (they simply don’t exist) I don’t get why a stand alone DLC wouldn’t include tutorials.

Never got the appeal of AC .. it’s not even a real assassins creed game… I just watched cocaine cowboys (reloaded .., watched the original a couple of times too) and I wish UBI would team up with 2K or something (the guys who made Maffia 2) and make a open world game set in 70′s/80′s miami (like Vice city, only more serious). I still can’t believe the hate for Watch Dogs by the trolls on Metacritic etc while I think the game is a billion times better than any AC I’ve played.

Ho well .. at least they have FC4 coming up .. such a big shame it’s cross gen though .. I Wish the PS360 would die already.

    Lt_Combo 4 June, 2014 @ 12:50 pm

I meant “not even a real assassin game ..” accidentally wrote not even a real assassins CREED game. Even watch dogs is a 50 times better assassin game then assassins creed .. so far I have used stealth for most of the game .. 1911 spec op + focus = a lot of bad guys getting their brains blown out without me ever getting detected.

Freedom Cry as a DLC was never discounted. Only the the standalone ver. was, incidentally putting it’s price on par with DLC ver. Now season pass is discounted putting it (again!) on par with the DLC.

Might be gettin Persona 4 Golden, at last ;)

    Archacus 4 June, 2014 @ 11:17 am

Pretty similar is price for physical release… in Poland it is something like 23 EUR

    US had kinda better price:
    Persona 4 golden – +14.62$/+19.5$ -> +10.5 EUR/14.3 EUR -> + about 20% VAT -> 12.6 EUR/17 EUR

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:21 am

not sure why you keep promoting these lies. There is no VAT on psn games, check your bills for purchases. And many games are cheaper in EU in sales, or even new, like beyond two souls was 40 in europe, 60 in US (its now in a sale too but not at psn-launch), if you really care a lot for this you will have two psn accounts (at least) anyways.

    Archacus 4 June, 2014 @ 11:37 am

    @BaneyFunny

Erm… what are you trying to say? I’m lying about the fact that similar price (a little higher) is in retail shop or am I lying to say that in US they got +14.62$/19.5$ prices?

VAT – Value Added Tax is already included in our price…

About US they don’t have VAT so it means that they should add additional 5-12 % of price…

anyway… you are one of those guys who keep offending others just because they are breaking rules by having 2 accounts, right?

    LordBeloved 4 June, 2014 @ 12:25 pm

If you choose the right state in the US you don’t pay any VAT. I’m pretty sure everyone with a US account does this.

    Lt_Combo 4 June, 2014 @ 12:52 pm

P4G is totally worth it .. it’s very time consuming and a very long/complicated JRPG (I’m a big rookie in the genre) .. but the game is really, really, really good .. it sounded so dumb. I bought it in a sale to see what the fuss was about. Man was I wrong .. the game is amazing, the story, characters, battle system etc it’s all perfect.

Bladesy 4 June, 2014 @ 11:13 am   10

I recommend Thief, really good game and at that price it’s a steal :)

35euro? No, thanks. You can already buy it second hand for 25euro, in perfect condition.

    CoolRichy007UK 4 June, 2014 @ 2:36 pm

ok il buy thief later today and you better be right about it im holding you responcible if i dont like it

    Amielucha 4 June, 2014 @ 3:12 pm

It’s £10.70 on PC from Amazon UK. €35 doesn’t look like a steal to me.

Lower the PS4 price for Black Flag to the equivalent of PS3 price, and you have a deal. No buy otherwise.

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:17 am

Your loss :) Its a great game especially on ps4.

I’ve already finished it on PS3. It’s just that there are no other interesting games on PS4 so far, that I might rebuy it. But as it is, physical copies are still cheaper than this PSN “sale” for PS4.

    UK_Rocklance 5 June, 2014 @ 9:06 am

No loss at all. I have the PS3 and PS4 versions. The PS4 version doesn’t look any significantly better. Pretty poor next-gen effort. Essentially they just quickly ported the PC version, I guess.

Are we going to be getting an RPG sale like the USA or is this it? Still waiting for games they had on Golden Week sale *crosses fingers*

    Tuulenpoika 4 June, 2014 @ 11:43 am

I second this. So many PSP RPGs thaty haven’t been on sale for ages. Lunar Silver Star Story, Riviera and Final Fantasy III, for example.

Chimpanzee 4 June, 2014 @ 11:14 am   13

@BaneyFunney What do you mean “remove the paywall”? Make it free?

    Terarded 4 June, 2014 @ 11:18 am

He means that you need to buy playstation plus in order to play online.

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:18 am

There is a PSN online play paywall with plus…

Tho i think some games dont have it, like the campaign online in watch dogs is working without plus? I dont like PLUS because its a commitment from my side to check sony news and blog every other week (and the store) and i dont want that because i love to do breaks from videogaming.

    link1983 4 June, 2014 @ 11:26 am

@BaneyFunny, Not everyone comes to the blog, Their is no obligation to check it every day/week/month or year. If you don’t like the ‘Paywall’ then go over to Xbox . . . Oh wait. Your £40 gets yu 6 new games a month, that’s 72 games per year. If you don’t like it don’t pay for it. I have had plus since day 1 and had no issue with it. I wonder if you could set up an entire infrastructure like that for free? If so show Sony because I am almost certain that, like me, they live in the real world and know services have an applied cost to them.

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:36 am

@link1983 its still a commitment to check out gaming news all of the time and visit the store if you dont want to miss out on what you already paid for. Psychologically its very tricky i am not making this commitment. And i have no need for free RENTED games i never would have bought anyways. You can get all these plus games for sales in psn for about 5-10 bucks sooner or later and they are yours always without DRM on ps3.

    Chimpanzee 4 June, 2014 @ 11:49 am

Oh, I see. I thought you were talking about removing the paywall to the PS4 in general, not to online play.

I highly doubt this will ever change.

    GT-R32_Skyline 4 June, 2014 @ 1:48 pm

@BaneyFunny What all you need to do is go to the store once a month and add all of the games to your download list that’s it and i for one think that plus is one of the better ideas i’ve had it for around a year and i’ve been able to try out so many games witch i probably wouldn’t have bought other wise or i would have bought and kicked my self in the head afterwards becaus the game wasn’t that good

    Hogen_ 4 June, 2014 @ 2:19 pm

@BaneyFunny – Basically what GT-R32_Skyline said. I never got PS Plus until I bought a PS4 and I don’t regret it at all. Who cares if the games are just rented or not? I’m not thinking about stopping to pay for it, so I won’t have any problems with that. Of course Sony wants money. I don’t think companies work for just for fun. And they at least have more money available now to improve their service.

And about the commitment thing you were talking about: That’s just dumb, to be honest. No one forces you to check the blog or anything. There is no harm in going on the PSN Store website once a month to add the IGC games to your download list. You know that there will be monthly games, so why check the blog? And why do you check the store every week if you don’t want to? You can’t have such a weak mind.

    Hogen_ 4 June, 2014 @ 2:22 pm

People love complaining about “having to” pay for PS Plus. Not everything can be free. PS Plus doesn’t even cost much. Some of my friends don’t have much money, yet they can afford PS Plus and don’t even complain about it. They actually like it. The blog’s comments is full of complaints. What do you expect? The newest games being on the IGC? You complain that there aren’t many games on PS4, so do you want developers to release unfinished games? Games take time to make. If they could release games, why wouldn’t they do so? Maybe because they’re not done? Bashing the PS4 for lack of games is plain stupid.

Besides all that: Nice sale. There isn’t really much for me, but that’s only because I already own the ones I’d like. I didn’t really expect PS4 games to be cheaper than that, since they’re not even that old and still sell well.

So Dark Souls 2 discounts by region:

€ = 25%
AU $ = 30%
£ = 12.5%

Really?!!!!

Terarded 4 June, 2014 @ 11:16 am   15

Any chance of octodad being in playstation plus anytime soon? i need new ps4 games but its devastating to buy a game only to have it become free :(

    salvogdaze 4 June, 2014 @ 11:49 am

I’d say probably, especially since we’re getting 2 PS4 games a month now. Still though, it’s a good discount and I bet it’s worth buying.

    eoinoreilly24 4 June, 2014 @ 12:14 pm

Firstly, if you’re literally devastated you need to sort out your priorities, dude. Secondly, the difference is that you own a license for a game you buy digitally while you never actually own the license with plus. Call me crazy, but there are games I have for free with Plus that I would like to be able to buy when they are on sale. When you claim your “free” games with Plus you effectively rent them for an indefinite amount of time, dependent on your continued subscription to the service. I suppose what gives me pause is that I’ve never read the fine print and I don’t know if Sony can just pull the plug on any particular or all the games provided with Plus at any time or not.

    Nesther 4 June, 2014 @ 12:30 pm

Octodad is very likely to show up on PSplus.

    Terarded 5 June, 2014 @ 3:51 am

@eoinoreilly24 Firstly, if you feel the need to take every word on the internet you read as literal to the point that you need to comment in a condescending stride you need to sort out YOUR priorities.
Secondly do you know what they call a hire that lasts forever? free.
If you dont like how it operates then dont subscribe.

Let’s talk about ”discounts”

Battlefield 4 (ps4) is now €49.99/AU$69.95/£44.99

Battlefield 4 (ps3) is now €29.99/AU$39.95/£19.99

Why the difference in price for the same game (besides greed) ?

Because money. SCEE loves money. They don’t love their PS4 players they much. Sometimes I even think they actually loathe them while they bath in money.

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:23 am

because demand, and because devopment on ps4 was a bigger risk/more effort. and because people on ps4 love to pay high prices for stuff as with the ps4 and its drm/paywalls. But you can be happy instead you get a sale at all, no ? Surely there will be ones with better prices if this one does not work too good.

    @Baneyfunny
Why should I be happy, when the “sale” prices are still much higher than physical copies elsewhere?

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:38 am

people buy these games at 70 euros in PSN, dont ask me why, but they do. Maybe they do it together so split the costs so its only half price for each ;) They could just not do any sales at all on ps4, any sale is better than no sale. Even if you dont find anything good. It means there will be better sales coming. It all depends on how many people buy at that price. If enough people on ps4 pay 70 euros for a game why lower prices?! Sony want a certain kind of customers on ps4 anyways. Its a different kind of customer than on ps3. But this is too complicated and complex to explain:) Surely you will get some better sales on ps4 soon :)

    Chris Howe 4 June, 2014 @ 11:41 am

Pricing is at the discretion of the publishers not SCEE

SCEE should try harder to enlighten developers what “sale” means.

    Archacus 4 June, 2014 @ 11:53 am

    @Chris

Than please don’t name it “SALE”

Or just ignore those sale offers… we would have bigger respect for SCEE

    eoinoreilly24 4 June, 2014 @ 12:15 pm

I don’t think you understand what DRM is…

    ward1978 4 June, 2014 @ 12:16 pm

The only thing you can do is vote with your wallet.

Price gouging for new consoles has been around as long as the gaming industry. I think Sony and Microsoft will learn the hard way that the industry isn’t quite what it used to be. Nintendo certainly are.

    @Chris
I agree with Archacus. PS4 “sale” as it is is not a sale. You need to make a better job at doing those “sales” or it’s just a no buy.

    Lt_Combo 4 June, 2014 @ 12:55 pm

lol .. just wanted to reply telling you guys that the prices aren’t set by Sony alone .. but Chris already commented that ..

    GT-R32_Skyline 4 June, 2014 @ 1:51 pm

I think it could be because the PS3 version has sold more because there are more PS3 in the world than there are PS4 although i do think that since this is a sale the PS4 version should be around 30€ as well

    UK_Rocklance 5 June, 2014 @ 9:13 am

@Baneyfunny, Who says PS4 development is bigger risk/more effort? Haven’t you seen those indie developers that Sony love so much keep saying they got their PC game ported over to PS4 in literally just ONE DAY? Sure a AAA will take more effort, but unless the dev is really optimising their codes, PS4 development is just a small percentage of their PC development effort. This is not PS3 development that we are talking about.

BluSpykz 4 June, 2014 @ 11:19 am   17

Borderlands 2 – now €29.99/AU$12.95/£7.99.

Holy cow? That’s some massive difference a guy from France would pay compared to a guy from London…

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:27 am

surely an error on the euro-price :) nice find

    Zulvex 4 June, 2014 @ 1:45 pm

Well, if we see the DLC dicounts all of them together around 45€, retail Borderlands 2 GOTY edition costs around 38€ wich includes the base game…. so yeah, great discounts

Any chance of a 10% PS+ discount for the PS4 Assassin’s Creed 4 season pass, like the PS3 one???

Shhhh. SCEE CEO might have a heart attack if he’d have to lower the price any more. You know, money.

    Chris Howe 4 June, 2014 @ 11:43 am

Yes the blog is currently being updated to show that there is a 10% Plus discount for the PS4 version of the season pass

Thanks Chris! Unless there’s a really good “deal of the week” it’s looking like I’ll be getting that later…

StevenJamesHyde 4 June, 2014 @ 11:19 am   19

PS4 sale prices are still about £20 too high, especially when you compare them to the PS3 equivalents

Agreed. PS4 “sale” doesn’t feel like a sale at all, when you still can get physical copies much cheaper.

zalwelgoedgaan 4 June, 2014 @ 11:21 am   20

Comedy hour again, haha.

PS4
“Need for Speed: Rivals
Was €69.99/AU$99.95/£54.99, now €54.99/AU$54.95/£34.99″

So it’s €5 less than the retail copy. Careful EA, you might go bankrupt!

I don’t mean to sound rude, but it’s atrocious that the PS4 sale prices and the PS3 sale prices for games that are, content wise, exactly the same, differ so drastically. I know this is a fault of the publishers rather than SCEE, but I’d rather the games not be included in the sale at all than PS4 players be gouged like this. :/

It does kinda feel insulting for PS4 owners indeed.

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:30 am

if people on ps4 as desperate for new games always to play ,why give them lower prices when they buy anyways? please take a marketing lessons (some good ones on youtube)

For the last 4 months I’ve been playing FFXIV on PS4, nothing else. And even that I got cheap, because I’ve transfered my account from PS3 to PS4. Let’s face it, EU PSN prices are just the most expensive and silly things around. Not to mention there’s plenty of F2P games on PS4, plus the amazing second hand market, where games are even 50% lower than on these so called “sales.” So why should I buy anything from here? They should just remove the PSN store altogether, it’s really incompetent.

    DavisonACT 5 June, 2014 @ 12:03 am

@Baney I don’t buy the PS4 games when they are so expensive compared to PS3. So no, I don’t need a marketing lesson, Sony need a lesson in how not to lose money by trying to gouge customers too much!

Kingdom of Amalur dlc discount?

    KaneTheGoth 4 June, 2014 @ 11:33 am

I second this — the game was on Plus about a year ago, would be nice to dig it out again :)

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:40 am

Would like that too and the psn version of the game for 5 like in us.

Archacus 4 June, 2014 @ 11:27 am   23

Erm… no…

First of all… even with sale you can still buy PS4 games cheaper/with equal price in any normal shop… and you get also physical copy of game…. So it is kinda weird for you to call it “discount”

Assasin Creed IV Black Flag -> 200 PLN (48 EUR)
Battlefield 4 -> 215 (52 EUR)
Lego Marbel Super Heroes -> 160 PLN (38 EUR)
Need for Speed: Rivals – 180 PLN (43 EUR)
Thief -> 150 PLN (36 EUR)

About rest of the games… I don’t see anything worth the price…

And Persona 4 Golden once again for 20 EUR?

Let’s compare it to US

Persona 4 golden – +14.62$/+19.5$ -> +10.5 EUR/14.3 EUR -> + about 20% VAT -> 12.6 EUR/17 EUR

All in all… nah… sorry I’m gonna pass once again.

Aye mate. Most of the games mentioned can be bought for 100PLN or less on Allegro. And those are physical copies, which could be sold back.

    Archacus 4 June, 2014 @ 11:50 am

    @Viryu
Hmm… I was copying just prices from comparing site ceneo… and yet I was avoiding the lowest prices from weird shops…

100 PLN… most of them are used copies… I kinda don’t like used copies. I really really really WANT to support SCEE by buying new games. I have nearly every Sony console (without PS4 because I’m always buying second editions like slim or with extra memory)… I even bought 2 Vitas…

I am really doing everything to support SCEE… and I kinda want for my love to be reciprocated. I want SCEE to harder to make it fair for us! I want SCEE to fight hard to bring all games as physical releases!

I’m fair… I have only account, I didn’t break their rules by creating fake account… and I have nothing from it… those who are cheating are in better position than I am…. and that’s what… I don’t like

Vote with your wallet, start buying second hand copies. Microsoft removed Kinect, because people did that. Do the same with Sony. Otherwise SCEE will never listen to us.

    CoolRichy007UK 4 June, 2014 @ 2:35 pm

Hrimgrimnir 4 June, 2014 @ 11:28 am   24

What about the Metal Gear Rising: Revengence dlc? It’s free in the US store for months now

Whoa, whoa, don’t be too demanding now. It’s the SCEA that does the work and loves their players. SCEE is there only take your money. Know the difference.

    LendMeYourVoice 4 June, 2014 @ 12:21 pm

@Viryu Jeez, talk about being whiny. For the whole of last year the EU was getting infinitely better games on PS+ and we’ve had weekly/monthly sales and price drops on tonnes of fantastic games, often the prices being reduced significantly. In fact this is the first sale in a year which I won’t be buying anything from (because the only games I’m interested in, I’ve already bought in previous sales).

SCEE does a great job getting discounts and PS+ titles, stop being so entitled or buy a game someplace else if you really want it.

    Nesther 4 June, 2014 @ 12:44 pm

@Viryu Are you sure you’re not confusing the two? Most SCEA users are jealous of our PSplus content and sales.

    hiryu_PL 4 June, 2014 @ 1:00 pm

@Nesther I’m sorry but of what they’re jealous? Of getting one game more than EU?
Please note that most of EU and US games in PS+ are the same, there were small amount of titles EU got, and US not, and conversely.
It’s been few months where US was geting 1xPS4, 3xPS3, 2xPSV while EU was 1xPS4, 2xPS3, 2xPSV – just do the math and tell me where is something they can be jealous of EU gamers.

@viryu – Cheap games are also on gametrade

    mike_291990 4 June, 2014 @ 1:43 pm

@Viryu actually SCEE for the most part are just as good as SCEA. People complain on both sides though when in reality they’re both very similar.
Grass is greener on the other side and all.

The MG Rising DLC is down to Konami. I really hope they make it available free for Europe, or at least have a discount on it.

    @Nesther @LendMeYourVoice
Before PS4 was released, EU PS+ for PS3 was getting way better games. So I sat quiet and didn’t complain. But now NA PS+ got “parity” for PS+ games, so NA and EU are getting same games. Thing is, nothing else came with it for EU. We’re still getting ripped off 60% more compared to NA, we’re still lagging behind on sales (EU sales go only as low as normal basic NA prices), a lot of content is still only exclusive to NA, not EU. Sony has drastically switched course to USA’s market, because that’s where they get their coverage for the media. This generation is just going to be kicking EU in the butt, so USA can have cheaper games for the public.

Dark_Overlord 4 June, 2014 @ 11:30 am   25

I’d love to buy Outlast…… but the way PS+ is set up it refuses to allow me to :/ and is the reason why I refuse to buy the DLC, if I can’t own the game and its permanently stuck as a rental then I refuse to buy any add ons for it.

I’ve been requesting the ability to buy games that have been downloaded via ps+ for ages (selectable like when you pick which version you want) but it seems no one ever listens, and as such you’ve lost 2 sales (game and DLC)

    BaneyFunny 4 June, 2014 @ 11:41 am

Was one of the reasons i ended my PLUS, i rather own my games … You could do a 2nd psn account obviously and buy with those ,dont know if another way is coming…

    Dark_Overlord 4 June, 2014 @ 11:55 am

I would love to end ps+, shame they practically forced it for the PS4 >:(

As for the 2nd account, I would do, but having a load of credit in my wallet currently makes it annoying that i’ve got to jump through hoops just to buy a game :/

    Nesther 4 June, 2014 @ 12:33 pm

Get a few yearly subs when they’re on sale, stack em, and pretend like it’s permanent.

    Thunderlizzard 4 June, 2014 @ 1:36 pm

But you still have PS+ so why waste the money buying it now?

Just wait until you drop PS+ and pick it up then if you’re still interested, it’ll probably cheaper as well!

    Dark_Overlord 4 June, 2014 @ 2:07 pm

    @Nester

But the thing is, it’s not permanent. Lets say in 10 years or so I decide to go back to an older console, and said game is PS+, now if Sony drops support for that console then PS+ games become useless at that point. I regularly go back and play my older consoles, SNES & Megadrive mainly.

All I’m asking for is to be given the option to buy the game, something which Sony seems incapable of offering :/

    CoolRichy007UK 4 June, 2014 @ 2:35 pm

had outlast on the pc :D

Ornigon 4 June, 2014 @ 11:33 am   26

Nice discount on Lego Marvel on PS4. Will take that!

The prices on some of this content is laughable even at the sale price. I understand that PS4 content is in demand and you can ask a premium for it but when its not even cheaper than a physical copy that people can sell on to make some money back (Which you or the Devs see none of), surely its in your best interests to offer better sales to get more sales on digital content and stop people from selling games on.

Sorry but €50 is not a sale. €70 release price needs to come down digitally because it’s a complete rip off, u can find a new release for €50 if u shop around and they’re not even on sale. I see it’s $60 for release games in SCEA and €70 in SCEE, should it not be the other way round? At this rate I’m starting to buy all new releases on PC and Xbox except for exclusives so it’s you, Sony who is losing money, your loss really.

Agreed. The very idea of digital sales was supposed to make it cheaper than physical ones. Yet EU is screwed so much. First digital prices are higher than physical copies. Then EU has 60% higher prices for many titles compared to NA PSN. Then sales for PS4 are sales only in name, because the prices go down for a week to the level of NA normal prices.

    CoolRichy007UK 4 June, 2014 @ 2:34 pm

eu get more expensive games the uk does not so im laughing LOL

As usual, PAL sales are just terrible. How about we have a sale where the price is lower than retail price?

Whoa, that would actually require SCEE to go lower in price than the NA’s PSN normal price. Sale’s for PS4 should be called: Oh look, we’ve already bought couple Ferrarris, so here, have NA prices as sale, at least until we decide to buy couple more Ferrarris for ourselves.

Amusing as you already announced it… Reckon Jawad just grabbed any titles from this post?

Serpantino 4 June, 2014 @ 11:45 am   35

Good price on persona 4 for those who don’t own it but a few games seem fairly regular in sales. Shame there’s no PSP or PSone on offer. I’d love to see a PSP RPG sale with some that I’ve never seen on offer such as tactics ogre and lunar silver star harmony as RPG sales tend to just have the same games.

WearingFin 4 June, 2014 @ 11:47 am   36

I might pick up Football Manager for that price, but i can’t help but be disappointed with the PS4 sales items, excluding indies, considering Injustice last week. You would hope that EA could sanction a further decrease on effectively annual titles which are nearing the end of their cycle. Battlefield should have been less since it has DLC to sell, but instead it’s reduced to what PS4 games would cost if the decision to hike up RRP across the board hadn’t taken place. I’m still in the middle of Watch Dogs and probably won’t have time to play another with the world cup but this is a token reduction which is a waste of nearly everyone’s time.

Nightmare966 4 June, 2014 @ 11:50 am   37

Nothing for me unfortunetely. Some are good deals, some could be better (taking a look at the Injustice deal for PS4 from last week, it was great). Hope that better deals can be acomplished soon on the new platforms.

Other than that — surprised to see DOA5 discounted. The title already has its successor out, which is DOA5: Ultimate. Now that is the one that should be getting the discount, on my opinion, given the old one will not receive more support. Hope that next time you guys can work on it :)

    Raepop 5 June, 2014 @ 1:03 pm

I really don’t understand this either, how can they put DOA5 on sale when Ultimate is out. The two versions are not even compatible with each other, so anyone that buys DOA5 will be stuck on an old version of the game, unable to play with people that are on DOA5:U.

Why is there no DOA5U sale?

fps_d0minat0r 4 June, 2014 @ 11:53 am   38

When are we getting a flash sale?

ward1978 4 June, 2014 @ 11:54 am   39

The hidden gem here is Quantum Conundrum for £4. It’s a first-person platform puzzler so it won’t appeal to everybody but definitely worth checking out reviews if you like games that require some thought.

The rest of the sale is unimpressive. The current pricing policy with digital games is just not competitive enough and never has been really for consoles, apart from indie titles of course.

Majik_Meerkat 4 June, 2014 @ 11:56 am   40

Great!! Now I can afford to replace my card version of Need for Speed: Most Wanted with the PSN version

Lance_87 4 June, 2014 @ 12:00 pm   42

Chris, any news about the permanent price reduction for Lords of Shadow 2? Konami announced it last week for all versions, both digital and physical, in Europe. However the store is still listing the game at 50€. Is it coming today?

    StevenJamesHyde 4 June, 2014 @ 12:29 pm

There’s a good chance that *is* the price reduction. It dropped from £49.99 to £39.99 in the UK

    Lance_87 4 June, 2014 @ 12:48 pm

Huhhh what? 50€ was the default price.

JecciusC 4 June, 2014 @ 12:03 pm   43

Just making a quick assumption here;

Borderlands 2 – Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2 is the PS3 version and this hasn’t been released for the Vita yet?

Also if I have PS+ and have Borderlands 2 PS3 active on it, is it still possible to buy the discounted price in case I decide to end PS+ in the future?

AirWalkerUK 4 June, 2014 @ 12:03 pm   44

Pretty poor effort, negligible discounts on some items that can be bought cheaper physically and retail and no flash sale that is currently going on in the US store. Disappointing.

medenko1975 4 June, 2014 @ 12:04 pm   45

How can you call this SALE?

Terarded 4 June, 2014 @ 12:06 pm   46

Could we please get some more varied discounts in the future? :/ dont mean to sound ungrateful or anything but it seems most the sales revolve around the same games these days, this is the third time ive seen borderlands 2 and all its dlc on sale in the last 5 months.. plus it seems battlefield and assassins creed are getting new discounts every week

Things i think would make good additions:
Games:
final fantasy
the last of us
L.A noire
poker night at the inventory 2
Diablo 3
Gran turismo 6

DLC:
Kingdoms of amalur
final fantasy
the last of us
ni no kuni

LA Noire, The Last of Us, most of the Final Fantasy games and Gravity Rush DLC have all been on sale in 2014. Possibly more of what you’ve listed but those are what I specifically remember. Also, as far as I’m aware, Ni No Kuni has no paid DLC (and if you meant the full game, that too has been on sale recently).

Is the Borderlands 2 DLC on PS3 cross-buy with the Vita version?

The PS Vita already includes most of the DLC, so no.

I have Borderlands 2 Vita, and it’s missing some of the DLC I’m interested in e.g. Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep. I want to know that if I buy DLC for the PS3 version (which I have thanks to PS+) will I be able to download it for the Vita version when Tiny Tina’s Assault etc become available.

Note that at the moment the DLC you get with the Vita version is not compatible with the PS3 version.

@GothPunk, Thanks for this info. I have been checking around and couldn’t find an answer to whether the Vita DLCs are compatible to PS3.

The PS4 discounts just show how overpriced the digital versions of the games are. I know there’a a certain obligation to retailers and I know that the publishers have final say but £45 for games that launched with the system isn’t exactly an appealing price point for publishers or Sony if you want to push people towards digital.

Example: Battlefield 4 is currently available for £37.50, new. I am not saying it needs to undercut, but it needs to be priced competetively.

Discounts? Seriously? The PS4 games are still way overpriced. There’s no way I’ll ever buy games digitally when they’re available at retail for much less, even after these “discounts”.

Most of them are much cheaper in stores… South Park for instance is like 23 euro’s on Zavvi..
I’ll probably only pick up HELL YEAH rabbit shizzle.
