Artist of the Week: Blur

It’s been 27 years since Blur first exploded onto the Britpop scene and to celebrate the release of their eighth album The Magic Whip, VidZone have crowned the influential band as Artist of the Week. You can watch the brand new Asian-inspired music video for ‘Lonesome Street’ featuring the kooky moves of San Francisco’s Phoenix Fly Line Dancing Group and remind yourselves of their fantastic back catalogue with the likes of ’90s classics ‘Song 2’ and ‘Girls & Boys’.

RIHANNA

After making a return to the charts with her pals Kanye West and Paul McCartney for the global smash ‘FourFiveSeconds’, Rihanna is back with ‘American Oxygen’ a brand new video and track from her as-yet untitled new album. The patriotic clip sees the Barbadian singer surrounded by footage of events throughout US history and can be seen now in her Artist Spotlight Playlist.

They officially reunited last year after being on hiatus since 2011 and so to applaud the exciting return of Atreyu, fans can watch their brand new video ‘So Others May Live’ on VidZone! The clip was filmed at a live show in the Californian metallers’ native state with the song inspired by and honouring US war veterans. So check it out now and get excited for a new album this year!

J-COLE

Hip-Hop Zone

J. Cole‘s excellent third album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive has already produced some great singles including ‘Apparently’ and ‘G.O.M.D.’ but his newest will definitely set tails wagging. ‘Wet Dreamz’ is the US rapper’s latest release and its music video which shows a tale of puppy love was directed by Ryan Staake who also worked on alt-J‘s ‘Left Hand Free’. You can watch it now along with all of the hip-hop star’s newest videos and the best from his catalogue including ‘Power Trip’ featuring Miguel and ‘Crooked Smile’ with TLC.
