Act It Out! A Game of Charades launches on PS4 next month

Hello PlayStation people! My name is Martijn and I’m the Development Director here at Snap Finger Click. We’re a British studio that formed this year and we’re super-excited to announce our first game – Act It Out! A Game of Charades – for PlayStation 4.

We frequently have pizza nights where we play games together with our friends. But we found that there aren’t enough games available that let you do so, which is exactly why we came up with Act it Out.

Act It Out! A Game of Charades is a party game for the living room where you take turns to act out a secret phrase to your fellow players. You can choose phrases to perform from seven different categories: movies, TV, books, proverbs, music, theatre and – my personal favourite – video games. There are over 1,500 secret phrases to try and we’ve hand-picked the best and funniest ones!

But it’s not just acting the secret phrases – you can also draw, describe or even sing them! And you can be as laid-back or competitive as you like, with different ways to play. Work together in Co-op mode, go up against each other in All vs. All, or split into two groups and play Teamplay mode. The game is playable with 2-8 players, so it’s great fun for big and small groups alike. There’s no excuse not to join in!

We have fond memories of playing traditional charades when we were kids. We always looked back on those times and remembered the silliness and laughs, and we were keen to bring that experience to a whole new audience. Traditional charades is usually a pain to set up though, so we created an experience where all the difficult parts are taken care of – the game comes up with the phrases, keeps score, keeps the timing, and does everything that you don’t want to have to worry about. And we also wanted to come up with new twists on the gameplay – drawing, describing, and singing – to make the perfect party entertainment that everyone can enjoy.

We’ve had a lot of fun making this game, and even more fun playing it with our friends and family. We think it’s the ideal game to keep everyone entertained this holiday season.

Act it Out will be available on 12th January exclusively on PlayStation Store for €14.99/£11.49. It will be available in six different languages – English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Dutch – with content especially tailored for each region. It’s also PEGI rated 3+ and suitable for all ages and abilities.
