December is a great month for events, and so it is that this week we announce the launch of the PSN Sphere public space. The brand new PSN Sphere will showcase the top PlayStation Network titles and act as a hub for accessing the uniquely themed event spaces devoted to each title. At launch, the Sphere will host three classic and much-loved event spaces: Fat Princess, Hustle Kings and Gravity Crash. In addition, those who love puzzles should try out the maze mini game, in which you’ll use the SIXAXIS controller to navigate a glass ball towards a portal against the clock. There’s a reward on offer for each area navigated … if you’re fast enough! The Sphere will be worth revisiting over time, as it grows with information about upcoming titles as well as themed areas for the best titles; the first of which is due soon, and is sure to send a shiver down your spine!

Christmas: a time for good food, good times … and good sledging! The good people at Audi have taken their long-held interest in all things winter sports related to another level with the design of their technically peerless Audi S1 Sledge concept. Now this isn’t your run-of-the-mill toboggan. Nor is it available in the shops any time soon. But through the magic of PlayStation Home you can now give this sledge-to-end-all-sledges a run down the piste. Have you ever noticed those glorious snow-covered peaks in the distance from the Audi Home Terminal? The Audi S1 Sledge game takes you there to the Audi Alpine Lodge to test your sledge skills. For those that are successful there are a range of fantastic rewards to be won. Oh, and who said the yeti doesn’t exist…. Happy sledging! Enjoy a good murder mystery? Head for the GAME space this week, where you’ll find a selection of items from Relentless’ Blue Toad Murder Files! In the Billabong store there’s another new release, featuring ladies tight jeans and vests for the guys as the highlights. The MyDeco store has taken delivery of new stock, including lamp, seat and festive tree. Finally, Codeglue’s Cardboard Cartel store updates with a special Santa costume (he’s on a reindeer!) alongside a range of new dresses sure to set new ladies fashion trends in Home this winter.

Winter Wonderland & Home Square Dressing + 2nd Anniversary Tees

The Festive season, and the PlayStation Home 2nd anniversary, are upon us! You’ve been asking what are plans were for this year, and today we can reveal all: starting with special anniversary t-shirts, through the return of the Winter Wonderland – complete with all-new rewards – and finishing with a weather warning: heavy snow is predicted for Home Square! Keep your eyes open for the Winter Market, and try not to slip on the ice in your rush to check out all the changes!

Hudson Soft revamp – Bomberman Dome & Theatre

Exciting new additions to the Hudson Gate this week, with the grand opening of the Bomberman Dome and Theatre. Within the Bomberman Dome you’ll find an addictive Bomberman mini-game, where you and other players will need to survive as long as you can whilst collecting the keys to unlock each new level. It’s explosively addictive!

TRON Apartment & commerce

TRON: Evolution. Costumes. Apartment. Furniture. Need I say more? Oh, alright then! Arriving this week from Disney, you’ll find the TRON: Evolution personal space in Estates, where you can experience life on the grid. Decorate with themed furniture, and don’t forget to pick up your TRON costume. Choose from TRON, Flynn, Sark, Clu, and Quorra.

With such a packed week, we’ve needed to save some space. Here’s a quick run down of the new items releasing in the stores this week:

Heavy Ink Pack 1

• Tattoo fans have waited patiently, so I’m pleased to announce that tomorrow the first pack of Heavy Ink tattoos, from Heavy Water, will be released. There’s a wide selection for both guys and gals, and more to come in the new year!

Castlevania commerce

• From Konami, there’s a Castlevania t-shirt for both male and female, alongside the Gabriel Belmont costume items (male only) and Laura costume (female).

LucasArts Force Unleashed 2 commerce

• LucasArts are back again, with a new batch of Force Unleashed 2 content. In this release: Scout Trooper and Rebel Trooper Endor costumes for both genders, and the Starkiller Jedi Hunter outfit for males.

V-Store Batman Hoodies & Caps

• In the V-Store this week, continuing the comic theme, are a new range of Batman hoodies and caps.

LOOT Stage Set Bundles

• The next collection of Stage Set prop bundles will be available from the LOOT store. Coming this week: the Flat Collection and the Ghostbusters Locker Room.

LOOT Alien Invasion Bundle

• The Alien Invasion bundle arrives in LOOT this week, along with 2 bonus avatar outfits – one of which will turn you into a swarm of UFOs!

CoD:BO commerce

• Those of you who missed out on the Call of Duty: Black Ops pre-order incentives will now be able to purchase the Woods character outfit from Alter Ego.

Launching this week in PlayStation Home is the latest party venue, open to PlayStation Plus members. The ultra-exclusive PlayStation Plus Private Members Club opens its doors to PS Plus members tomorrow. Members will be greeted in a marble foyer by a discrete doorman who will check your credentials. Inside you’ll find a stylish bar area decked out in black and gold décor, while further into the space you will find discrete alcoves for socialising.

Card sharks can find several tables offering Shed, an addictive two to four player card game. With rewards to be earned, this game is sure to keep you coming back for more. The space also offers a couple of great ways to stay updated on all the latest PS Plus news, either by reviewing a cocktail menu or watching the trailers running on the big screen.

Space-based combat arrives in Home with the newest multiplayer action game from Hellfire Games: Novus Prime. Novus Prime offers free-to-play missions in either single-player or multi-player cooperative format. You’ll be piloting a specialist fighter craft while defending the world from invading forces, all whilst gathering the highly valuable resource Nebulon. There’s a wide variety of mission types available, ranging from classic escort missions, mining, intense space battles and more. Upgrade your craft via purchasable add-ons, such as new weapons and defensive systems, to gain that all-important edge over your enemy.

LOOT bring us the next in their expansion bundles for the Modular Stage Set this week. The City Blocks bundle comes with all the bits you need to create your own terrifying giant-monster movie.

Meanwhile over in the V-store, you’ll find two new pool tables: the Judge Dredd table, and Skull table. There’s something fishy going on in the Lockwood store – guys and girls alike can purchase water-tight fish bowl helmets, complete with swimming fish!

There’s quite a variety of new content releasing this week! With today being Gran Turismo 5 launch day, we’ll get started with some GT5 news. In the cinema we’ve got a new GT5 trailer for you to drool over if you’ve not picked up your copy of the game yet. Better yet, you’ll earn a GT5 race suit costume as a reward for watching! Announcing a revamp of SingStar Rooms and the grand opening of SingStar Store! Celebrate the release of SingStar Dance & SingStar Guitar by rocking out in designer clothing, complete with exclusive animations. There’s plenty of new music, videos and craziness to be had! For the launch of the SingStar Store you’ll find five female costumes and three male costumes alongside SingStar song packs. Within the SingStar Rooms you’ll find an expanded range of music playing.

Check out the GAME Moonbase this week, where GAME launch real and virtual stores in PlayStation Home. Starting tomorrow, games will be available on the moon…well sort of. The GAME Moonbase in PlayStation Home will open it’s doors to the GAME V virtual goods store selling game-based items and apparel exclusively for Home users, and The Moonbase Shop – a PlayStation Home first – offers direct sale of PS3 titles from The Moonbase delivered straight to your (real) door courtesy of GAME. To celebrate the opening pick up your free GAME T-shirt from GAME V and look out for new releases like Black Ops available from the Moonbase Shop. New content will be updated monthly so watch for new titles, special Home exclusive promotions, apparel and items on sale available from the GAME Moonbase.

Stroll through to the extended Shopping Centre this week, where there are new additions! This week sees the return of an old friend – the Diesel store – and a new store for MyDeco, where you can find all of MyDeco’s content in one place. Finally, stop by Codeglue’s new store – the Cardboard Cartel – to check out their current range, and keep an eye out for new content from them coming soon!

Highlight of the week for me just might be the latest from the V-Store: a range of massive foam gloves in the shape of iconic handguns. These take the ‘Guns’ emote to a whole new level! Still on a gun-related theme, Heavy Water’s “Heavy Strike” cannon will be available in Furniture tomorrow! Place the Heavy Strike cannon in the personal space of your choice and then place your sights over your intended target and tap X to fire away. You can even drop two cannons across from one another and exchange fire with a friend!
