As users of VideoStore of PlayStation Store will know, we love nail-biting action and this February we’re creating some of our own as two great Video Store titles go head to head! It’s called The 0.99 Movie Showdown and drawing their pistols in the first week long battle (starting February 6th) will be Captain America: The First Avenger and Conan the Barbarian.

Perhaps Captain America is your favourite movie of the moment, perhaps you haven’t seen Conan the Barbarian and really want to, perhaps you love them both and just want to get involved! Either way, all we need you to do is go to the PlayStation Facebook page, vote for your favourite movie and wait to be rewarded as the winning title becomes available for the whole of the following week priced at only £0.99/€0.99!

In other news, we’re excited to tell you VideoStore of PlayStation Store is evolving! You already know about the great movies on offer, but what you might not realise is that our service now includes popular TV shows as well. Check out the store to discover whole series from studios like MTV Networks, Warner Bros and Fox, and with more being added every week there has never been a better time to rediscover a classic or get into something new.

We all love the thrill of watching a great action film and so far this year we have been spoiled for choice as more and more releases have found their way onto VideoStore of PlayStation Store. Whether you like your action funny or nail-bitingly serious, we’ve been doing a pretty good job of keeping you firmly stuck to your sofa and at this time of cold weather and January blues, where would you rather be?!

Highlights for us have been without a doubt Transformers: Dark of the Moon and X-Men: First Class, both examples of action films at their absolute best with mind-blowing special effects, adrenaline-fueled chases and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley running around saving the world. Some people say these films are perhaps a case of style over substance, but when movies are this visually arresting and so easily available, who cares!

It’s not all about the serious stuff, and one film that everyone’s been talking about, before and after it was released, is The Hangover 2. The formula may be similar but we’re not complaining as Phil, Stu, Alan and Doug find themselves in Thailand, once again their heads are pounding only this time they’ve lost the brother of the bride! Hilarious from start to finish and seeing the return of the one and only Mr Chow, this is a film to be watched over and over and luckily this is exactly what you can do thanks to VideoStore of PlayStation Store, enjoy!

Can you tell what films are referenced in these three viral videos?(Check the first two related videos or click here to see two and three in the series). Sony Entertainment Network created them along with creative agency Studio Output to promote the PlayStation Store Video Store, with the aim of showing how a great movie can fill a room and make you feel like you’re at the heart of the experience.

The videos were all filmed in one take, with no post-production or any other SFX trickery, and were achieved using an innovative new image projection technique called immersive imaging, along with some smart design and choreography. What you can’t tell from watching the video alone is that the effect is reliant on the camera looking onto the scene at a particular angle at all times. We had to find a way of tracking the camera while it was moving and eventually realised that the answer was sitting on our desks and in our living rooms: PlayStation Move.
