Foosball 2012 Developer Diary #2: Cross-Platform Gameplay

Countries: , , , ,

Hi, this is Jakub from Grip Games and I’m back with the second part of our Foosball 2012 Developer Diary series. This week, I’ll introduce you to the cross-platform functionalities between PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

With Foosball 2012, we didn’t want to have just another game that has a version for PS3 and another version for PS Vita, we wanted an experience where platforms don’t matter and where you don’t need to worry about which device you are currently using. So, you’ll get exactly the same game, including your current progress, unlocks, and DLC every time you start the game, regardless of how where you’re playing.

First of all, when you buy the game, you’ll get it for both PS3 and PS Vita for a price of a single PSN game. The same applies for additional content that you will be able to buy. Purchase it once and you can use it on both platforms.

Secondly, when you play the game, your saves are automatically uploaded to a cloud storage within the PlayStation Network and synchronized between PS3 and PS Vita. This means that whenever you start the game, the progress you made on another platform, including the online multiplayer statistics and trophies, is right there and automatically synchronized.

Finally, players on PS3 and on PS Vita can play online matches against each other. Even if you own only one of the devices, you will still be able to play against the people who play on the other device. So, there will always be someone to play with.

Foosball 2012 will be released soon on PlayStation Store. For more details about the game visit the official web page www.foosball2012.com or follow us on Twitter and Facebook.

In our final Developer Diary video next week, I will talk about the various single-player and multiplayer game modes that the game will offer.

Foosball 2012 Developer Diary #1 – PlayStation Move Controls

Countries: , , , ,

Hi everybody, it’s Jakub here from Grip Games.

In March, we announced our upcoming PS3 and PS Vita game Foosball 2012. Now, we’re back with a series of short developer diaries. We’ll introduce you to some of the game’s coolest features, like PlayStation Move support, full cross-platform compatibility between PS3 and PS Vita and also the online multiplayer mode.

The first video you can watch today demonstrates Foosball 2012 and PlayStation Move controllers in action, showing that you can play this game exactly the way you’re used to when playing on real table football!

Thanks to the precision and zero lag of PlayStation Move, even the slightest movements of your hands can be properly translated into the game, allowing you to precisely control everything from shot power to the positions of your foosmen.

One or two Move controllers can be used by a single player, or you can ignore Move controls completely and play with the good old DualShock 3 controller. Using the DualShock 3, the left stick controls the poles and movements of the ball and the right stick is used to shoot; allowing you to accurately aim and control the shot power.

We hope you enjoyed the video. Watch out for next week’s episode where we will be showing you how cross play and game continuation will work.

Foosball 2012 will be released soon on PlayStation Store where you’ll have both the PS3 and PS Vita versions together for a single price.

See you next week ;-)

The World Needs Saving… Again In One Epic Game

My name is Jakub. I am from Grip Games, the folks who gave you MiniSquadron and 5-in-1 Arcade Hits, and I’d like to tell you about our next project – One Epic Game, which is now being released via PlayStation Store tomorrow.

All of gaming’s most notorious stereotypes finally make an appearance in one epic game – aliens, zombies, fantasy, World War II and nuclear wasteland. One Epic Game puts you in the shoes of Alpha Dog, another muscular, one dimensional action hero with the task to negotiate with the enemies the only way they understand – a bullet in the brain!

As you have probably guessed by now, everything about One Epic Game is intentionally over-the-top. The name, the action, the main hero, humour… One Epic Game is a parody of all the gaming stereotypes we see in almost every action game. But it does not stop only with games, as you’ll see us pay homage to some popular movies and much more.

One Epic Game is a minis game and will cost you only 2.99 EUR, but that does not stop it from having tons of content to keep you entertained for many hours.

The Story mode contains ten levels and when you are done with it, you can try one of the seven different challenges that will test your skills – you’ll be required to jump-kill the enemies, survive with only one life, pick which enemies to kill and which to let go, etc. And finally, there is the Free Run mode which is just you and your skill against the enemies and environmental obstacles. No special tasks or distance limits.

To deal with the insane numbers of enemies that the game will send at you, you’ll need an impressive arsenal. One Epic Game has all the time-proven favourites, such as shotguns, machine guns, lasers, BFG, jet-packs and my personal favourite – flamethrowers.

One Epic Game is compatible with both PS3 and PSP and if you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber, you’ll get an additional 50% discount, which makes it practically a steal.

You can find more information about the game at http://www.grip-games.com/epic/.
