Hey everyone! We’re excited to share a lot of news with you about Ratchet & Clank: QForce. Whether you are looking for a new multiplayer map, waiting for your PS Vita download, or excited about Ratchet: Gladiator HD for PS3, there’s something in this update for you, so read on!

First, thank you for your patience as you’ve awaited the PS Vita version of QForce. Our friends at Sony and Tin Giant have been working hard to deliver a version of the game that lives up to your expectations. The good news is that the game is complete, and will be released on PlayStation Store on 22nd May.

For those of you with a PS3 retail copy of QForce, you’ll be able to download the PS Vita version of QForce to your PS3 and transfer it to your PS Vita. You can do this by accessing the “Disc Benefits” option from 22nd May. If you downloaded QForce on PS3, the PS Vita version will appear free for you on the PlayStation storefront.

Ratchet & Clank movie coming to cinemas in 2015, see the first trailer

One of the biggest questions we’ve gotten in the last few years is “When are you going to make a Ratchet & Clank movie?” The truth is, we’ve wanted to do a movie for a long time! Ratchet & Clank’s action, humor and galaxy-spanning adventures have really been the basis for a fantastic game series, and we think it’d translate perfectly to the big screen.

We’ve been looking for the right partner to help us bring a Ratchet & Clank movie to life, and we’re thrilled to announce that Blockade Entertainment and Rainmaker Entertainment are currently in production on Ratchet & Clank’s first cinematic adventure.

Insomniac is honored to play a hands-on role with the film’s production, screenplay, character development, and animation consulting. Furthermore, our own Ratchet & Clank writer, T.J. Fixman, who has written all of the recent Ratchet & Clank games, is writing the script for the film as well.

But don’t take my word for it – check out our teaser above.

We’ve been having a blast playing against you online in Ratchet & Clank: QForce the last few weeks, and we hope you’ve been enjoying the game as much as we’ve enjoyed making it and playing online ourselves.

We know many of you have been asking when the PS Vita version of the game will arrive. As you know, R&C QForce is a cross-buy enabled title, so your purchase of the PS3 game entitles you to download the PS Vita release at no additional cost upon its release.

Developer Tin Giant has been hard at work finishing the PS Vita version, which will be available soon in early 2013! If you bought the game digitally, you’ll be able to download the PS Vita version via your Download List on the XMB when it releases. For those purchasers of the retail disc, you’ll also be able to download the PS Vita version via the “Disc Benefits” option under Game on the XMB.

One thing every great multiplayer game has is regular new content and support. The team in North Carolina has been working hard and listening to your feedback the last few weeks. We have a new patch coming out this week that addresses many of your requests, and fixes some of the balance issues both online and in the campaign. In addition, we are adding two additional levels to the weapons in the game, so you’ll be able to further up(grade) your arsenal.

Ratchet & Clank: QForce – New Details Revealed

QForce - Balkai_02

Hey everyone,

Our team of veteran Insomniacs in North Carolina has been hard at work developing Ratchet & Clank: QForce, and today I’m happy to share new details surrounding Ratchet & Clank‘s latest adventure.

Ratchet & Clank: QForce heads back to the classic camera, weapons and third-person Ratchet gameplay that the series has been known for while adding in a brand new tower defense element that’ll have you building and defending a base against invasions using your ultimate Ratchet & Clank arsenal. This new twist, added to the classic Ratchet gameplay, brings a whole new level of strategy and decision-making to QForce. You’ll want to make sure your hoverboots are laced up and ready as you race to defeat your enemy while keeping your base secure. Wait… hoverboots don’t have laces…

In Ratchet & Clank: QForce, our heroes face a new nemesis – one who has a nasty surprise planned for Captain Qwark. You’ll be able to choose between playing as Ratchet, Clank and Captain Qwark and then confront an alien army across five levels set on three different planets. The game allows you and a friend to play together with either split-screen or online cooperative gameplay.

In addition, QForce will offer a ton of replay value, including an online mode we’ll reveal later, as well as loads of upgrades, extra character skins and unlockable content. We wanted to share the first screenshots of the game with you here.

Everyone here is very excited to bring Ratchet & Clank: QForce to you this autumn. In the meantime, if you want to refresh your memory on how it all started, check out the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy that just released this June.

That’s all for now. There’ll be much more to come from Ratchet & Clank this summer and autumn as we celebrate Ratchet’s 10th Anniversary! As always, for the latest news, be sure to like Insomniac Games on Facebook, or follow us on Twitter.

Happy Holidays From Insomniac Games!

Hey everyone! We are the midst of our winter break, recharging our batteries after shipping both Resistance 3 and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One exclusively on PS3 this year. We hope you’ve had the chance to check out both games. If not, maybe you’ll find them under the Christmas Tree or use a gift card to pick them up after the holidays.

Last year, we shared with you several of our holiday cards over the past few years. We did want to share with you the latest – which should appeal to you fans of the Olly Moss Resistance 3 cover art.

Insomniac Games 2011 Holiday Card

For those Resistance players out there, we did want to remind you to check out the Brutality DLC Pack, which we just released this month. The DLC contains a brand new co-op Survival mode set on a dark and foggy version of the Wales map. Team up with a friend to fight off ever increasing hordes of grims, all set to seven tracks from Grammy-nominated metal band Mastodon. How many rounds can you survive?

We hope you have a great holiday season, filled with family, friends and gaming. We’re so thankful for all of our fans out there and for your support of our games. To keep up with us in 2012 and our brand new game Overstrike, be sure to follow us Twitter and like us on Facebook.

From everyone here at Insomniac, Happy Holidays!
