Hi Guys, thanks for your patience over the weekend. The issue with free Plus memberships not expiring on time has been fixed, so anyone that upgraded to a paid Plus membership will now have full access to all the Plus content on the Store.
On the subject of content it’s also time to announce the first of many Anniversary month treats.
Today we are adding another PSN game to the Plus content – get your hands on the PSN title Castle Crashers, worth £10.99, at no extra cost.
Keep an eye out for more mid month treats coming soon, including some great day one discounts, but I’m afraid for now I’ll have to leave you in Limbo…
I just wanted to let you know that we are aware of the problem that Welcome Back PlayStation Plus Users are having and are working to get this fixed ASAP. Currently, the Welcome Back offer is not expiring and so those that have purchased a full Plus membership are not able to access the full Plus content. This issue is the cause of many of the other problems you have reported here on the blog, such as new content not showing up in the Store as expected.
We are working on this problem now as a matter of priority and expect customers to see this fixed over the next few days.
Hi Guys, apologies for not being able to get you the July content list earlier than this, but we wanted to make sure we worked right up to the end to get you some great content.
It’s hard to believe that PlayStation Plus is already a year old, but I guess time flies when your enjoying so many exclusives, betas, PSN games, minis, PS one Classics, dynamic themes and avatars.
We’ve been having a look back at what content has been available to Plus members in the first year and have discovered something we thought you guys might find interesting – while we said we’d deliver over £200 of content during the year, we totted up the totals for all the games, discounts themes and avatars and the value actually came to over £700*. In anyone’s eyes that’s a pretty good deal for under £3.50** a month!
Hi Guys, I hope you’ve been enjoying all great content like Burnout Paradise and Streets of Rage 2 this month.
Before I let you know what you are getting as mid-month treats, I just wanted to make sure you haven’t missed out on the great Ubisoft title Beyond Good & Evil at the exclusive 20% Plus discount. Last week we added a demo of the game to the Plus section of the Store and also pushed it to you via Automatic Download.
If you want to receive this demo without lifting a finger then make sure you turn the Automatic Download feature ‘on’ under the ‘settings/system settings’ menu of the XMB. This feature will also save you valuable time by automatically downloading game patches and system software updates so your PS3 is ready to go next time you want to play.
Here’s what the guys at Ubisoft wanted to tell you about the game:
Dear PlayStation 3 gamers, the wait is over.
I’m very happy to announce that Beyond Good and Evil HD, the beloved action-adventure classic enhanced for a the PlayStation 3, is already available for download on the European PlayStation Store.
For those who missed the original, here is your chance to discover a game that many consider a classic.
The epic story of Jade, a young photo-reporter uncovering a terrible conspiracy threatening the galaxy, will keep you entertained for hours. And then there’s the 56 wildlife species, 88 pearls and 12 trophies to locate and unlock. For £7.99/€9.99 it’s going to keep you busy for a while.
And for the fans, do I really need to say anything convince you to revisit it? Your beloved game has never looked so good, now with new enhanced textures and in gorgeous High Definition graphics.
And if you needed anymore reason to get this game then don’t forget that you Plus members get an exclusive 20% off. At that price it’s a steal! Check out the trailer of this great game right here.
Here are the mid month treats that are available for all Plus members, including those with the Welcome Back free membership. You will be able to find these later today in the Plus section of the Store:
Abandoned Map – 100% discount This popular “Suppression” map from SOCOM 1 and 2 makes a comeback in SOCOM: Special Forces. Abandoned takes place in the daytime around an ancient Thai village deep in the misty jungle. Fight your way over dense hillsides, through dark caves, and into the close-quarters mayhem of the archeological site. Classic SOCOM heritage meets evolved SOCOM: Special Forces action.
SU90-Shotgun 100% discount An extremely high quality, versatile and powerful weapon, the SU90-S is the preferred tactical shotgun among the Special Forces. This 12-gauge shotgun is equipped with slug ammunition for serious stopping power. It inflicts heavy damage in a focused area and features a greater effective range than standard shotguns – Note this appears as a different gun depending on the forces that you use.
I’ll be back on here soon to let you know what great content and special treats will be available for PlayStation Plus’ 1st Anniversary!
Update: It has just been confirmed that, due to the Store coming back a little later than we hoped, the extra days added to Plus memberships is being extended by another 10 days so you are getting a total of 70 days extra for free. This will show up automatically on your account in the next few days.
Hi guys, It’s great to be back on here to let you know what great content is coming up in Plus and what we are doing for Plus members to say thank you for your patience during the time the network has been down.
Here is what’s included in the welcome back package with regards to Plus:
If you were a Plus member on or before the 21st April, we have automatically added a full 60 days onto your Plus membership to make sure you get back any time missed. You don’t need to do anything to get this; it has been added to your account and your membership will simply carry on for 60 days past the original renewal date.
We will be keeping April’s content on the Plus section of the Store for a further 2 weeks in case you missed anything before the 21st.
We have an action packed month for you in June and, for the first time, we have a fantastic EA title for you – our flagship title this month is the amazing open-world racing game and the king of arcade racing. Burnout Paradise is available to download as part of June’s content list so don’t miss it.
