Hi everyone! I’m Mitsuo Hirakawa and I work as a Producer at Sony Europe’s XDev Studios on our newly announced games Invizimals: The Alliance (PS Vita) and Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom (PS3). We are super-excited to announce these brand new titles because we have been working in secrecy for some time and now finally we can tell the whole world what we’ve been up to! Eagle-eyed gamers may have recognised the Invizimals from the previous games released on PSP.

We have two great dev teams working on these games. First, we have the multi-award-winning studio Novarama Technology from Barcelona, Spain. World pioneers in the use of Augmented Reality for games, and developers of the original Invizimals Trilogy on PSP, they have been secretly working on Invizimals: The Alliance for PS Vita. It’s an all-new augmented reality adventure where hunters worldwide will, for the first time, unleash the power of PS Vita and use it to hunt, battle and collect like never before.

For Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom on PS3, we have drafted in a BAFTA-winning team, Magenta Software from Liverpool, UK, who are known for high quality family games. At XDev we are really excited about the action adventure single player gameplay experience Magenta has developed exclusively for PS3.

Hey fellow Reality Fighters. I hope you had enough practice to challenge Mr. Miyagi to become a worthy master! Today we are announcing release details of the 3 DLC packs for Reality Fighters.

First off, we have a free Weapons Pack that contains an array of melee, hand and vehicle weapons to help remind your opponent who the boss is! We’ve included a mixture of aggressive and humiliating weapons so there’s no excuse not to download. It’s free, so give it a try!

Next we have a Football Fight Pack (€2.99) to help you get one over your opponent. You will get a brand new fight style complete with 16 special moves and some dramatic ultra moves. Reality Fighters is the Augmented Reailty beat ‘em up coming exclusively to PlayStation Vita at the launch on 22 February. As well as putting yourself into the game and going toe-to-toe against opponents of varied looks and styles, your in-game tutor will be the world’s most famous sensei: Mr.Miyagi. Perseverance will be rewarded with the chance to play as Miyagi-san, and unlock his trademark handyman uniform and family headband.

Providing the voice of Mr. Miyagi is Jim Ward, a prolific gaming voice actor who has also performed in Call of Duty, Ratchet & Clank, Metal Gear Solid and more. Here are a few words from Mitsuo Hirakawa of SCE XDev Studio on the thinking behind this special guest appearance. (more…)
