‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (4th February 2010)

Final Fantasy VIII

…sorry, did I need to say anymore than that this week? :D

Ahem. We’ve got a real mixed bag of content this week, starting with a new batch of special offers, including our first ever promotion for some of our minis titles. These feature some of our best-selling minis, and help us to kick off minis month with a little bit of style. We’ll also be celebrating with another batch of reduced minis titles in a couple of weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for those too.

We have two demos for the highly anticipated titles Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Aliens vs. Predator; I feel we’re servicing our shooter fans especially well this week.

Throw in a couple of new minis titles, lots of game add-ons and a sprinkling of videos and you get this week’s helping of PSN goodness. Om nom nom, how do you like them ap…titles.

As usual, I’ll be lurking in the comments section so leave me a comment.

Have a good week.

‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (28th January 2010)

Another week, another batch of fresh content delivered straight to your door…well, by way of a PS3, PSP or Media Go, an internet connection and logging into the PlayStation Store to download the content, but you get my drift, right? :D

Enough of the lame attempts at humour, let’s get straight to business; you want stuff, and we have it (once the store is updated later today). Two of my personal gaming highlights of last year get additional content; for Assassin’s Creed II you can rejoin Ezio, piecing together more memories in Sequence 12: Battle of Forli, with six new challenges, and another chance to pilot Leonardo’s flying machine.

Then for Uncharted 2 you can get some multiplayer love with the addition of some new skins. Not just any old skins too, these are skins taken from some of our most recent PlayStation releases!

Talking of Uncharted 2, for those of you who have not tried the game yet, then the demo is here to set that right. Taking in some of the action from Nepal, you’ll experience this amazing game for yourself (I’m not just saying that because I feel obliged too either…it truly is a wonderful game).

You’ve also got one final week to grab the special offers below, and then they’re gone, with a new batch to follow…ooooh, exciting I know.

No blatant attempts to make you all love me this week by giving away codes, so I’ll probably skip the comments this week…I’m joking of course, I’ll be around as usual.

Take it easy all!

‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (21st January 2010)

Good day to you all, hope you’ve all had a good week.

Today, as most of you blog readers will know, is the day that we unleash the ModNation Racers Beta for you, and for the first 100,000 people who download it when the store updates (should be mid-afternoon), I can assure you, you’ll be having a LOT of fun. I will update on here, and via my twitter feed, as soon as the store is live.

We also have a fresh batch of special offers available for you, with a selection that should cater for all tastes. Personally, I think Smash Cars is great value, and that reduction on Unbound Saga is also very tempting is it not? Okay, enough tactless sales attempts I promise.

We also have some new dynamic themes for Heavy Rain, Buzz! and Singstar, and another mini title, Vector TD, is added to the minis family. This is all wrapped up with a few more bits and pieces, full details below.

Finally, this week, in another attempt to shamelessly please you all with freebies, I have a couple of handfuls of dynamically themed codes (very subtle hint on what they’re for I know) to give away. However, rather than ask you to pander to me for them, let’s try this instead; those who want to try and get a code from me reply below completing the following sentence “I don’t deserve one of your codes because…” I’ll give codes away today and tomorrow, to those replies I deem the best.

I look forward to reading your comments :D

‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (14th January 2010)

Thanks to all for your feedback last week, there was some great work there indeed.  Lots of you echoed sentiments that I personally share and it’ll be interesting to see where this year takes us.

Last week’s special offers continue for one more week (with a new batch coming on the 21st) so don’t forget to check those out if you haven’t already.  We’ve gone a bit demo friendly this week with Vancouver 2010 and Inferno Pool for PS3, and Football Manager Handheld 2010 and Army of Two: The 40th Day for PSP available.  This leads me nicely onto the fact that we’ll also have the full game of 40th Day available this Friday too.

Throw into the mix one full game, another PSP game, one mini, one PSone game and a bunch of downloadable content, and that makes this week’s publish. Oh, and a personal highlight, a trailer for Yakuza 3, it’s coming!! :D

That’s your lot this week; I’ll catch you in the comments section.  Cheers.

‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (7th January 2010)

So, it’s my first post of 2010, bye bye 2009 it was fun. What were your highlights of the year we’ve just left by the wayside? What are your resolutions for the coming year (apart from playing lots of games of course)?

Personally, I thought 2009 was a pretty good year for gaming, but I think from many aspects a lot of what made 2009 good for me (apart from the games actually released) were the glimpses, and promises, of what’s to come this year. Even though I didn’t manage to get there myself, I felt that E3 really cranked up the expectations of what is to come in 2010…I feel it could be a vintage year for the gaming industry (though I reserve the right to renege on this assumption this time next year, if I’m wrong).

As for my resolutions this year, I’ll be striving to help continue improving the store and the offering we make available to you all (that actually goes without saying really), I’ll try and interact with you all more than I have been thus far, and my final resolution is to get more platinum trophies!

To help us improve, this week could you do me a kindness in the comments section and provide your feedback/thoughts/requests for the store, what you’d like to see etc. I’ll be collating as much of this as possible/relevant and will try to address as much as I can in the future.

As for the content this week, the full list is below, I won’t keep blathering away, and I’ll let you get on with checking the list.
Cheers!
