‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (19th November 2009)

Okay, I’m not going to beat around the bush, I think we’ve got a cracking line-up this week…and if you all moan at me this week, you will have crushed my last bit of faith in humanity:)

For PS3 users you can get hold of Critter Crunch (trial and unlock) and Invincible Tiger, as well as the demo for Smash Cars, there are two packs available for Dragon Age: Origins (that’s my weekend gone then) and a host of other content too.

Oh, did I mention a certain Snake makes an appearance this week too…we finally have the PSone classic Metal Gear Solid available!

Also, I think you PSP owners will be feeling some love this week with titles available such as LittleBigPlanet, Assassin’s Creed Bloodlines, Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, The Warriors and plenty more. There are also two further minis on the store this week, Echoes and Pinball Dreams; for the full list of this week’s content have a scroll down.

There will also be a couple of titles made available this coming Tuesday (24th of November)…I was going to be mean and keep you waiting but I wouldn’t do that to you all :) . Therefore on Tuesday you’ll be able to get hold of Gravity Crash (both the full game and a trial & unlock) and for LittleBigPlanet an Assasssin’s Creed costume will be available too.

Leave comments as usual, but please keep in mind that I don’t work on the Video Download Service, so I won’t be supplying answers about that…

Have a good week!

‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (12th November 2009)

So I bet most of you have been playing Modern Warfare 2 this week, and in relation to this (just in case any of you missed it) we added the original Call of Duty: Classic to the PS Store on Tuesday evening (given a fresh lick of paint and with online 8 player multiplayer).

For the rest of the update this week, we have a varied offering, taking in a new bundle for Burnout Paradise, a new quiz pack for Buzz!, Fat Princess makes an appearance in PAIN and there is also additional content for Rag Doll Kung Fu, EyePet, Rock Band and Guitar Hero.

PSP users get three new games, three new minis, and the demo for Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier.

I know lately we’ve had a bit of a lull in the updates, and whilst they may not have been massive, we have been adding steadily to the store (for you PSP users especially), but next week, there should be a nice stream of content released, and I’m hopeful that some of you will be pleased once you see what’s coming :) .

There will always be dips in the release schedule, that’s just the way it goes at times, but we always come out the other side smiling don’t we? Seriously though, we’ll be doing our best to make sure these lulls become less and less frequent, because we do want our community to be happy smiley folk after all!

Anyway, as usual leave your comments below and I’ll do my best to trawl through them. I may not respond directly, but I am reading and taking note, promise.

‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (5th November 2009)

As warned last week, today we have a smaller update than usual, but I’m hopeful there will be something for most people.

For PS3 users we have got the NBA 2K10 demo available properly (we had some issues first time we tried to release this for you) and the Hextadon pack for Brütal Legend arrives and is free to all for the first two weeks of release, so don’t miss out on this offer. LittleBigPlanet celebrates its anniversary with two pieces of free content; they will only be around for one week, so grab them whilst you can.

The highlight this week for PSP users must be Ghostbusters surely? However, this is followed by two other full games – Dragoneer’s Aria and Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron. We also have another mini making its way to the store in the form of Spot the Differences!

If the new content doesn’t take your fancy this week, then check out the new batch of special offers – it’s a good opportunity to grab some content you may have missed previously, and at reduced prices too.

Finally there’s also an additional piece of content making an appearance on Tuesday (the 10th of November)…more details to follow.

That’s your lot this week.

‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (29th October 2009)

Howdy folks.

I’ve noticed that a few corners of the internet picked up on a comment I made last week saying that this week would be a big update, I just wanted to put it into context before I began, the full comment was ‘Well next week is going to be a mammoth update in comparison – I can tell you all that much”, I think the key wording here is ‘in comparison’.

I’ve set this up like it’ll be a small update now haven’t I? Well, I’m only toying with you dear reader :) , this week is a veritable feast of goodness, so join me as we jump into today’s update to savour the tasty delights that will befall you later today.

Seeing as Halloween is round the corner we have some suitably apt content, in the form of Zombie Apocalypse, the mini title Zombie Tycoon, Elvira makes an appearance in Pain, the Pumpkin mask returns for one week in LittleBigPlanet and even Guitar Hero and Rock Band are getting into the spirit.

Full games line up in the shape of Hasbro Family Game Night for the PS3, and LocoRoco Midnight Carvnival, Crystal Defenders, Super Monkey Ball Adventure and Football Manager Handheld 2010 for the PSP.

Then we get all demo-tastic with two Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time demos, one featuring Ratchet and the other featuring, yes that’s right, Clank. Fat Princess, Trine, Zombie Apocalypse and Dragon Ball Raging Blast make up the rest of the PS3 demo list. For the PSP you can sample LocoRoco Midnight Carnival, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe and Crystal Defenders.

Then (yes there’s more) you can get hold of downloadable content for EyePet, Cross Edge, Beatles: Rock Band, DJ Hero and Trivial Pursuit, finished off with a light smattering of trailers and themes.

Finally, for our German speaking friends you can get hold of all the additional Fallout 3 packs this week, and we’ve also added the English language version of the packs onto the Portuguese and Dutch stores too.

Now for a small announcement, this is advance warning about next week; we are only releasing a small update next week as we have some behind the scenes work (nothing exciting, but necessary) underway, so we’ll have minimal time to update the store – normal service will resume from the 12th however.

Okay, now for the fun stuff – get commenting!

‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update (22nd October 2009)

Afternoon all; second post of the week, sick of me yet?

We have a varied offering of content this week, but the big news is that we’ll have Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars available for download on Friday! Also available on Friday is the release of the full game Hannah Montana: Rock out the Show, as well as four packs for the game too. That’s not all for the PSP this week however, as we also have WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2010, Marvel Superhero Squad, Astro Boy and G-Force available for you. The latest mini title is also added to the store, in the shape of Red Bull X Fighters.

For the PS3, the demo for NBA 2K10 is ready for you to try, as well as the first packs for EyePet (which is released in stores this week) so you can start customising your pet with some new content already. There are also free packs for Midnight Club Los Angeles and Cross Edge, and as usual more content for Rock Band and Guitar Hero.

We also have two new dynamic themes available this week, for the titles EyePet and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time, and trailers for Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Dragon Age: Origins.

We’ve also added new titles into the Special Offers section this week too, with the full rundown of al content listed below.

As usual, you know where to find me…
