Hi guys, Phil Larsen from Halfbrick here! Rocket Racing is the next title to hit PSP and PS3 minis from Halfbrick, and I’m excited to announce that it will be released in Europe on 11th March.

Rocket Racing has been developed from the ground up, combining high speed futuristic racing with classic top-down gameplay which is a perfect fit for minis. Each track has been designed with a unique twist, suspended high in the air above the clouds and cityscapes to give players a light and almost surreal feeling as they drift around the crisp, detailed courses.

Challenge mode is the main backbone of gameplay, giving players a number of tasks to complete over six different tiers. Completing once challenge with its specific objectives will unlock adjacent challenges along the tier, so players can choose their own path to the final race.

A key part of racing is the ability to grind. Grinding is a new concept which involves positioning your rockets against the outer walls of the tracks. This opposing force will give you a speed boost as well as grind points, and can be chained for entire races to get the maximum speed possible!

Grand Prix mode pits players against opponents in a series of races over four difficulty levels. Completionists can collect gold trophies as they race, and along with the Challenge mode, take steps to unlocking and winning every event in the game for the elusive 100% Award!

As we all know, multiplayer is a big part of any racing game. We didn’t want Rocket Racing to miss out on the action, so to round up the package is Party Mode! This puts up to four players in the hotseat as they take turns setting and breaking each other’s score on a huge variety of tracks, in what could be described as a game of HORSE with rocket power. Party Mode even lets players customize how to win – be it with the fastest time, highest total or single grind score!

Rocket Racing will be released on 11th March in Europe for €4.99/£3.99, and is compatible with both PSP and PS3. We at Halfbrick hope you enjoy it!

Earlier we released the soundtrack for one of our minis Blast Off, which was a soothing, ambient and “introspective” foray into a calming space adventure. Today we’re going to pump up the volume with the free download of the Echoes soundtrack. Echoes is another mini from Halfbrick and certainly brings a unique change in tone from Blast Off.

Echoes is a game in which players collect crystals while racing against the clock and your translucent enemies. The action is high energy and the music definitely reflects the pace. Four tracks are available, with each one specific to the individual gameplay mode – Arcade, Jackpot, Survival and Multiplayer.

Hey everyone, Phil from Halfbrick here. Late last year we released Blast Off for minis, and we’re very pleased to report that it has been a great success with many gamers checking out our unique take on space, gravity and lost astronauts! We’re still receiving kind comments about its gameplay to this day and it’s still one of the highest rated minis out there, so today we’ve put together a little bonus for fans.

Jesse Higginson is the composer for Blast Off, and did some amazing work creating a soundtrack which really encapsulates the perfect mood for the game. Hey guys, this is Phil Larsen from Halfbrick checking in to give you some details for the newest addition to our range of minis – Age of Zombies!

You’ll step into the shoes of our hero, Barry Steakfries, who is thrown into a lab where Professor Brains is taking the next step to creating a zombie apocalypse – by sending them through time portals!

Barry doesn’t take too kindly to this news, and after dispatching Professor Brains, ventures forth into the portal to save the world from a history of eating brains. Along the way, he’ll crack bad jokes, have fun blasting heads and deal all kinds of destruction with a wide array of weapons.

Age of Zombies features the single player Story Mode starring Barry Steakfries, which takes place over five time periods containing three levels each. You’ll visit the Prehistoric era, Ancient Egypt, Feudal Japan and more!

You can also unlock Survival mode, where hordes of undead will attack relentlessly in a level of your choice. Aim for the top score by killing zombies in quick succession to gain combo points, and wield a huge arsenal of weapons including the shotgun, SMG, flamethrower and minigun.

Age of Zombies will be released on February 25th for €4.99/£3.99, and we’re looking forward to this tongue-in-cheek game designed to make you laugh while doing what everyone loves doing best – kill zombies! Through time!

We’re currently developing four minis for PSP as part of our Halfbrick Fridays brand. These are smaller, casual games intended to offer simple, fun gameplay at a very small price. When Sony announced minis for PSP we immediately recognized the potential for our Halfbrick Fridays games on the platform, so we’re currently in the process of coding and polishing to make sure they play perfectly on the PSP.

We are taking development very seriously by fine-tuning what aspects of each game will really work well on the PSP. The games will be enhanced versions of our current range with graphical improvements and customized mechanics to ensure that gamers ready for fun, easily playable games will have a blast.

Halfbrick Blast Off is a physics-based sci-fi arcade game in which players must collect lost astronauts and safely navigate to a Warp Gate to complete each mission.

Each planet and celestial body (including planets, asteroids and black holes) within a level has a gravity effect which must be accounted for. This gravity effect must be used to the player’s advantage in combination with rocket boost power and directional control. If the ship crashes into an object the mission fails, but a quick retry function ensures no gameplay time is lost.

Halfbrick Echoes is an action puzzle game in which players collect crystals within many surreal, artistic worlds. As each crystal is collected, an enemy called an Echo will spawn. Echoes are translucent versions of the player’s hat icon, and they will walk the exact same path the hat walked between collecting crystals.

Unfortunately our games won’t be available on October 1st when minis launches, but we are hoping they will be ready to go shortly after launch.

For example, Halfbrick Echoes is a game which has many levels across different tiers, with each one having a surreal and artistic atmosphere. The levels themselves will usually never take longer than a minute to play as the primary focus is collecting crystals in the shortest time possible, but even the smallest session will count towards a high score or unlocking new levels and modes. This is true for our other games including Halfbrick Rocket Racing and Zombies, where simple gameplay mechanics will be supported by a consistent artistic quality and the feeling of achievement by always improving your score or time.

The goal is to successfully complete the level by collecting all the crystals, although several other gameplay modes give you control over the flow of time and crystal powerups to fight back against the Echoes.

Halfbrick Zombies is a top-down shooter with style and flair through humor, intense action and zombie blasting!. Players are placed within many environments where zombies have taken over, and must fight off the oncoming hordes to survive. This stylish and simple arcade action is always popular, especially when zombies are involved!

Halfbrick Rocket Racing is racing game with unique gameplay and a futuristic style. You can take on over 40 tracks in high-powered racing craft with separate left and right engines for pinpoint turning control.

The rockets on each side can also be used to boost your racer off the walls in each track, which means you’ll be reaching incredibly fast speeds by angling your craft against the walls and grinding around the perimeters for the fastest times.
