Hi everyone. As I am sure you already know from our previous blog posts, Until Dawn is our playable teen horror that puts you in control of eight teenagers, stranded in a remote location, under threat, and trying with all their might to survive ’til sunrise.

At Supermassive we’re working hard to capture the essence of the genre and to give you all you’d expect from your favourite teen horror movies, together with some compelling gameplay and more than a few surprises!

Now, teen horror wouldn’t be teen horror without a few shocks and scares so, given it’s Halloween and all that, we chose to treat you (forgive the pun, I know…) to a short teaser showing hints of some of the scariest moments of the game… without any spoilers, of course.

We like it and hope you do too. Have a killer All Hallows Eve!

Cult horror veterans join Until Dawn team

Hey everyone, Pete Samuels here from Supermassive Games. You may have seen lots of news coming out of New York Comic Con announcing our work with cult filmmakers Larry Fessenden and Graham Reznick on Until Dawn and we just wanted to give you the lowdown on why we specifically chose to work with them.

From the beginning we set out to capture all the iconic elements of teen horror movies. We started with a few key ingredients; a beautiful young cast, an isolated location, a devious killer and an all-important twist. However, to stay true to the genre we felt we needed that sharp dialogue that is synonymous with this type of story and some real expertise in developing the characters in a filmic way through their conversations. Enter indie horror legend Larry Fessenden and his long-time cohort Graham Reznick.

The two have collectively been part of the cult horror scene – latterly under Fessenden’s production outfit, Glass Eye Pix (House of the Devil, The Roost, I Sell The Dead, The Innkeepers) – for nearly 30 years and are true pioneers in horror. For us, working with them was a no-brainer! (more…)
