The good ol’ Doctor steps in this week for the arrival of Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock on PlayStation 3. Journey through four London time periods and a number of alien locations in search of the answer to the mysterious Eternity Clock.

GhostReconFutureSoldier_Spotlight_PVWIMG

Ghost Recon Future Soldier Signature Edition releases this week on the 24th for Europe and 25th for UK. The Signature Edition includes the full Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier videogame and gives you instant access to exclusive content (see below for details)!

In Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Future Soldier, join an elite team of highly trained, cutthroat special ops soldiers. Armed to the teeth with unrivalled combat technology and cutting-edge military hardware, Ghost Recon takes you to the globe’s most deadly warzones to hunt down the highest value targets.

The Ghosts don’t worry about even odds. They do everything in their power to overwhelm and obliterate the enemy. Future technology is the key to winning an asymmetric battle.

Before the anticipated DLC is due, the Dark Knight himself creeps through the shadows in a demo for Batman: Arkham City, for those that are still on the fence about this incredible Batman game.

A new AR Game is also set for release this week – Table Top Tanks. Using your AR Play Cards you can draw the battle lines on any flat surface and create a theatre of war for your pocket-size tanks. Complete a series of missions and perfect your battlefield tactics, call in airstrikes against your enemies and take on up to three friends in Ad Hoc Mode multiplayer skirmishes. You can even use the “Solo Creator” mode to design your own levels and bring real-world objects into the game as obstacles.

In other news, check out the Uncharted 2 maps, as these are now free until 27th June when you’ll be able to get the first two games digitally!

I’d also like to apologise to our Plus users who may have noticed Datura was only made available for just one week. The team have reactivated this for another a week at 20% off as originally planned. Enjoy!

*Seeega!*

Sonic+4+fin_PVWIMG

Speeding his way back onto the scene is everyone’s favourite blue hedgehog back in an all new episode of Sonic the Hedgehog 4, aptly titled Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II.

Together with his old friend Tails, you can play either single player or co-op (local or online) with an evolution of Sonic 2′s collaborative mechanics. Use devastating collaborative attacks and combination moves to defeat the united force of Metal Sonic and Dr. Eggman.

URL Sonic 4

If that’s not enough, those who own both Episode I and II will gain access to Episode Metal, featuring exclusive levels with Metal Sonic as a playable character. Nice!

Get ready for an all new musical phenomenon. Today, PixelJunk 4am releases for all of you with a PlayStation Move controller and PlayStation Eye camera (both required). Wave your hands in the air to blend sounds together and create your own unique music each time you play, whilst also broadcasting your performance via PlayStation Network.

We’ve also got a new PS2 game, as well as a PSOne game this week.

First up, Deus Ex, originally released on PlayStation 2. In the dystopian future of the year 2052, society slowly spirals into chaos. A lethal virus, the “Gray Death”, ravages the world. The only vaccine, “Ambrosia”, is in such short supply, it is only available to those wealthy enough and deemed “vital to the social order”. With no hope for a cure for the common people, riots occur worldwide and a number of terrorist organizations have formed. As a response, the United Nations has created The United Nations Anti-Terrorist Coalition (UNATCO). You assume the role of JC Denton, a nanotechnologically augmented UNATCO agent. After completing his training, JC gets slowly plunged into the world of augmentations, human misery, and conspiracies, determined to uncover the truth behind the real world order.

Our PSOne game this week is an addition to the imports section going by the name of Outlaws of the Lost Dynasty. This Japanese fighter is a classic example of the great stable of fighting games that came from PSOne era. Choose from 11 funky Chinese characters as they battle each other for the supreme goal of a unified Middle Kingdom. Each character has his own special powers and weapons. Or you can forgo the weapons and fight like a man with your bare hands! This formidable gem from Japan deserves your attention.

If you haven’t seen Andy’s post yet then not to worry. Click here to see our themed sale of the doom and gloom the world will (apparently) face in 2012. Scary stuff.

Lastly, there’s also a price drop for Under Siege, now only £3.99!

Discover an eerie, intriguing realm in this unique interactive art experience where little is as ever as it seems and mystery and surprise await your every move.

Open the gates to a dreamlike forest, follow the paths between the trees, interact with your surroundings and attempt to answer three questions: why are you here? What are you supposed to do now? And is there a way out?

For the curious – for those willing to face the depths of their own conscience – the answers will be revealed by exploring the world of Datura.

PS Plus members will also have two weeks to purchase Datura at 20% off.

Other titles this week also include demos for Zack Zero and Spec Ops: The Line, as well as Arc Arena and Just Cause being our new PS2 and PSone Classics, respectively.

Andy has also been working on securing some new deals in a new sale with a somewhat retro theme to it. Did you never get round to purchasing Final Fight: Double Impact or *deep breath* Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix? How about some of the PixelJunk games such as PixelJunk Monsters or PixelJunk Eden? If you haven’t jumped to the bottom already then you may want to also know that PixelJunk Monsters, PixelJunk Eden, PixelJunk Shooter and PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap are cheap as chips (cheaper maybe) for PS Plus members at just €0.99! Check out the list of titles in the sale right at the bottom.

As usual, this week’s content is below.

‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Plus Update – 2nd May 2012

awesomenauts

As you already know, you will find naught but awesome in May’s PlayStation Plus update, by way of Ronimo Games and DTP Entertainment’s Awesomenauts! featuring team-based, cartoony, objective-based action for up to six players online and featuring a soviet space-monkey called Yuri. There’ll be a launch post from the developers coming soon, so stay tuned to the blog to find out more!

And if a brand-new PSN title’s not enough for you, the lovely folks at TikGames and Creat Studios have signed up to offer you no fewer than eight of their catalogue, available for the next two months at absolutely no cost. Go get your Hamsterball on, I know you want to!

tikgames

I’m very sorry to have to tell you that there’s no PS one Classic in May (but there’s still a couple of weeks left to grab Silent Hill) – instead we bring you a PS2 Classic title in the form of Max Payne, brand-new to our Store and available to all our subscribers at no-cost! If you’re excited for the release of Rockstar’s Max Payne 3 later this month, there’s no better way to get yourself in the mood (unless you throw yourself out of a window in slow-motion, but I’ve never seen anyone do that in person).

maxpayne

New minis! Can they stand up to the sublime Floating Cloud God… well if anyone can bring us another hit it’s Futurlab, (creators of Coconut Dodge) with their brand new title, Velocity. We’re also including the recently released LA Gridlock for you as part of your subscription.

As promised, we also have 17 new title trials added to the Full Game trials section for you to get to grips with, (with more on the way before June) so if anything takes your fancy be sure to download and give it a whirl – 60 minutes and counting!

And later in the month? How about a launch discount on Binary Domain, SEGA’s criminally underrated robot shooter? What would you say to a 20% launch discount on Move-enabled mystery, Datura? We’ll even throw in some free day-one DLC for Ubisoft’s new downloadable ATV racer, Mad Riders?

It’s a big month, guys! I hope you’re all looking forward to May 2nd as much as me! See you in the comments.
