Atomic Ninjas storm PS3, PS Vita later this year

Countries: , , , ,

Hello everybody! This is Jakub from Grip Games! We’re the folks behind 5-in-1 Arcade Hits, The Impossible Game and Foosball 2012. And after being locked up in our top secret underground lab (A.K.A. the garage) for some time, we’re back with our newest creation – Atomic Ninjas for PS3 and PS Vita.

So, what’s this all about, you ask? Atomic Ninjas is 2.5D multiplayer platformer with ninjas. You will control super-powered ninjas in frantic online matches against other players, with tonnes of charm and humor. If the Fat Princess and Crash Commando had a child, it would be Atomic Ninjas (though that idea is a bit disturbing, no?).

While the game relies on traditional jumping and shooting mechanics, you will be unable to directly kill other players. Instead, you must outsmart and outflank your opponents and kill them using various environmental hazards and obstacles, such as lava pits, laser beams, traps, moving platforms, falling crates, etc. Don’t forget that these are Atomic Ninjas… something as banal as a katana between the ribs won’t do the trick anymore!

New Sound Shapes DLC this week, and more to come

Countries: , , , ,

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and “wub” is in the air… and with the spring comes a new blast of Sound Shapes DLC. Two unique sound packs are available right now and in just a couple weeks we’re stuffing the Community Milkcrate with more albums from guest curators. More on that below after this brand new video showcasing our new ’80s and Dubstep Sound Packs.

First the sound packs. The ’80s pack brings the synth-poppy melodies and digital drum beats inspired by the neon decade when big hair and leg warmers ruled the lands. If that’s too gaudy for you, dive into the dark and dirty world of the Dubstep Sound Pack with the lurching, wobbling, big bass drops straight from the streets of London. Will you dare to combine the two?

Both packs each include new notes, loops, five new Beat School levels, and five trophies.

Coconut Dodge Revitalised coming soon to PS Vita

Coconut-Dodge-Revitalised-Key-Art

If you’ve been noticing Shahid Ahmad’s handsome mug plastered all over gaming websites recently you may be wondering if Sony’s commitment to indie development is just hype or if there’s some actual truth to the notion that Sony is the best place for indie development right now.

The story of Coconut Dodge might give you a clue.

I was part of a team who wrote a game on a different system’s indie platform a few years ago – and it seemed like nothing had changed in all the years I’ve been writing games. Without a publisher behind you, you were essentially throwing your game release into the Marianas Trench, never to be seen again.
