Access Episode 34

Countries:

Friday is back, and so is Access TV on YouTube. In Episode 34 the focus is on Rockstar’s long-awaited threequel Max Payne 3, which dips the third person shooter genre into noir-fuelled slo-mo and brings it out wearing a Hawaiian shirt and set in Brazil. Max Payne has never been better, so be sure to catch Game of the Week for all new gameplay footage.

Racing fans have got it alright this week too, as the Access TV crew head to Wimbledon Stadium for some banger racing fun. Access TV cameraman and video editor Dave Jackson gets behind the wheel and, after being shunted across the track, catches up with Codemasters’ Iain Smith and Mike Chapman.

From cars to planes, Access TV go wing walking with competition winner Martin Tester, who got his wish of standing on top of a flying plane well and truly granted. See all the footage first hand.

To finish off, there’s all the latest PS3 news to enjoy, plus a roundup of all the week’s best content from the digital realm of the PlayStation Store. Enjoy the episode!

Don’t forget, we’re being lovely and giving you 2 free minis games for squat-all pennies. We may bribe you into liking our page, but you can cope with that when we bring you SO MUCH AWESOME each week – right?!

Access TV is available every Friday on YouTube – head to youtube.com/playstationaccess to subscribe and never miss an episode.

Access Episode 33

Countries:

Sometimes thinking about magic makes us sad, like when Harry Potter ended and one of the Weasley twins wouldn’t wake up, or that time in school when Mr McMonies was going through a divorce and taught physics in a wide-brim wizard’s hat before bursting into tears and refusing to come out of the cupboard.

Other times, though, it means firing spells using a PlayStation Move motion controller as a wand and feeling like an arcane badass. Like in this episode’s Game Of The Week, Sorcery, which also includes mixing potions (don’t do fairytale herbs, kids), moving big rocks out of the way and sort of having a cat as a girlfriend.

Elsewhere things are less unusual, as our news round-up sees us at Sundance London and talking to Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2 developer Treyarch. And, sticking with shooters, we put your questions to the men (or, in this case, singular bearded man) behind Medal Of Honor: Warfighter, with results that include checking that we really meant to ask that, and, after confirming that we did, eventually some answers.

Capping it all off is a visit to Honeyslug to speak to two of the minds behind the free and essential PlayStation Vita… well, not so much “game” as “experience involving buttons and laughing which makes you gladder you bought a PS Vita” (note: Frobisher does /not/ care that “gladder” isn’t a word).

Access is available every Friday on YouTube, and is free to download for all UK PSN users from the PlayStation Store on Wednesdays.

Access Episode 32

Countries: ,

Whew! It’s been a hectic 7 days in the Access team. Check out what we got up to this week…

Access TV 32

If you’re into your shooters, you’re in for a treat with this week’s episode of Access TV. Show number 32 has Sniper Elite V2 rocketing into the Game of the Week slot, so expect a healthy dollop of gore to go with all the Nazi killin’. The game’s marquee feature is the brilliant x-ray cam, showcasing every burst lung and fractured brainpan in voyeuristic slow motion. Enjoy that!

Better yet, the crew were in London for the recent EA Showcase, with the publisher getting out the big guns for its upcoming 2012 line-up. There’s a look at Battlefield 3‘s latest DLC, plus interviews with the men behind mega-real shooter Medal of Honor: Warfighter, and the utterly beautiful Crysis 3. Don’t miss it.

Sticking with the shooter vibe, there’s also coverage from BAFTA as the team get a taste of short movie Ghost Recon: Alpha – which ties in to the upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. Look forward to interviews with both the film’s directors, and the game’s developers.

As always, there’s the usual harvest of the current news crop to check out, plus a run through the week’s best PlayStation Store content, including a look at ace 2D brawler Skullgirls, and the upcoming Game of Thrones, err… game.

Access TV is available every Friday on YouTube – head to youtube.com/playstationaccess to subscribe and never miss an episode.

Access Round Up – Episode 30! Win A PS Vita!

Countries:

We’ve mixed this up a bit this week to cover more of the stuff that PlayStation Access gets up to. Let me know what you think of the new format in the comments!

Access TV Episode 30

YouTube becomes a better place today with the arrival of Episode 30 of Access TV. Heading the line-up this week is open-world action sequel Prototype 2. Changing heroes from Alex Mercer to the very angry James Heller, this follow-up is all about blowing stuff up in fantastic ways, as well as slurping up men like they’re organic milkshakes. Tasty.

Elsewhere there’s the latest on Aliens: Colonial Marines as the team fly out to Dallas for a hands-on with the game and a chat with developer Gearbox Software. Plus, the crew visit Gadget Show Live to get the latest on DiRT: Showdown as well as checking out some awesome gadgets.

Weasley is our King

Harry Potter fans should definitely go check out our YouTube channel for extended interviews with the cast on games, filming and more.
