Hello, SingStar friends,

Did you miss me? Was Chris nice to you while I was off? If not I will have words, you know! Hope you enjoyed the last update with songs from the likes of Rihanna, Katy B, Toto et al.

Gamescom was awesome. The SingStar stand at was mega busy (some pics below of people getting a first glimpse of the ‘Back to the 80s’ disc) and so were all sixteen pods we were showing our brand new DanceStar Party game off on. Queues everywhere!!!

Did any of you manage to come down and play? Can you see yourself on any of the pics? More news on all of the above very soon…

On to the SingStore:

Ok, maybe that’s just me but you know sometimes you read about and artist/song and think, ‘I have NO idea who/what this is’, then you listen to it and go, ‘I know this, I know this, I love it!’ Yep, happened to me with Neon Trees and ‘Animal’ today.

However, I had no problems recognising any of the others and I am especially fond of ‘Jessie’s Girl’ and its singer, Mr. Rick Springfield. I always thought he had a luscious head of hair.

Then there’s OK Go with ‘Here We Go Again’ which of course stands out because of the band’s creative use of running machines in the video alone. Note: you will only need microphones to play this and not invest in any further equipment. Up to you, of course.

I also need to mention Kid Cudi ‘Day ‘N’ Nite’ which comes with a dance add-on for good measure and if I may say so, I think could beat every single one of you in a dance-off having demoed it a LOT Excellent dance routine.

Nina’s having a well-deserved rest after singing and dancing away with the rest of our team and lots of you too last week at Gamescom, so you’ve got me this week.

I’ve got a good week though (in my opinion) and some amazing songs. First and foremost is the all-conquering Rihanna with her smash Rude Boy. This is a huge tune for those Summer SingStar parties and has a great video, bringing a carnival vibe to SingStar.

Howdy!

I’m so excited because I am the one who gets to tell you that we have a brand new SingStar Blu-ray Disc in the works which will be ready for your collective singing pleasure in time for Christmas. ‘Back To The 80s’ will feature 30 massive hits from the decade which was otherwise defined by neon legwarmers, oversized shoulder pads and bad hair. We’ll be posting a full tracklist for you once we have it available so watch this space. I know I can’t wait to get my hands on it (the tracklist AND the disc that is).

If you haven’t been to visit the SingStore or My SingStar Online since Tuesday last week you should get your virtual selves there asap because the 5.12 patch is waiting for you. Once you’re done with the update you will be able to share your in game snapshots with the world via Facebook, view all the songs in the SingStore by release date, plus we added a few new filters to the song selection carousel.

Now on to the SingStore update. I’m loving ‘Kyrie’ by Mr. Mister this week, P!nk and (obviously!) ‘Livin’ La Vida Loca’ for which I shall also be getting the dance add-on so I can make sure I get the fullest Ricky Martin experience possible! Oh yes! Let’s also not forget about Toto with ‘Rosanna’ or Take That or the Rock Steady Crew, ok?

Hi y’all!

I was very happy that most of you seemed to like the last update and hope that this one will get the same reaction! Fingers crossed…

So, what do I have for you this week? Well, there’s another brand new Boney M song, in case you’re already bored of ‘Daddy Cool’, plus the one I am very excited about because it involves a Gallagher brother and most of Oasis just minus the other brother: Beady Eye with their excellent first single ‘The Roller’. ‘Ave it!

A little more ‘fun’ and a favourite because of its cringe factor has got to be ‘Jump In My Car’ by The Hoff, right? Ok, if that’s not your cup of tea then I can also offer you Jarvis and his popular beat combo Pulp with ‘Disco 2000′ or a lovely ballad by the boys from that little know band Take That?

If you’re STILL indecisive, just grab your Move controller and get stuck in with the dance add-ons for Chris Brown, OutKast or New Kids On The Block. Or if you know how to sing in Danish or in German, there’s always Sukkerchok (great name!) and Roland Kaiser respectively.

This week we’re back to the normal Wednesday update so technically speaking you could say that you’re getting this one a day early . Hope you had a good time with the songs and dance add-ons from the last one? Which one was your favourite or maybe there was one you just tried out because you saw the preview video and now you can’t stop playing it? You can always let us know on Twittter!

Frontrunners for the shopping cart this week for me are: ‘Daddy Cool’ by Boney M. (I REALLY can’t wait for this, honest), Mr. Mister, Inner City, and this is where the German in me comes out, Sandra’s ‘Maria Magdalena’ and The Scorpions with ‘Still Loving You’. Actually, I could go on but I’d just be repeating the below list and that ain’t the point, is it?
