New Comet Crash DLC Incoming

This is John Bates and Jennifer Pourchot from Pelfast. Pelfast is a small indie startup located in sunny California.

Our debut title, Comet Crash turned the tower defense genre on its head with completely new and exciting gameplay and we’re hard at working wrapping up a massive expansion, titled Comet Crash: Bionic Swarm. For those unfamiliar with the original Comet Crash, here’s a quick rundown.

Tower defense fans appreciate the simple yet addictive experience of building towers to defend from enemy waves. On the other hand, we at Pelfast love the thrill of a massive offensive rush to demolish an enemy base. We designed Comet Crash with both of these elements in mind. Finally, you can send massive swarms of your own troops to wreak havoc on the relentless waves of enemies.

New Comet Crash DLC Incoming

Since your last mission at the end of Comet Crash, you have enjoyed peaceful times. But while you have been delighting in the fruits of your latest victory, underground enemy forces have been frantically working to rebuild their defenses. Their technology has expanded and once again they are ready to fight.

Welcome to comets Gaia and Kronos. The swarms are massive and the creatures have morphed into gargantuan monsters. Life is a bit more chaotic here and you will need all of your skills if you hope to survive these dangerous lands.

New Comet Crash DLC Incoming

Gaia is a lush and savage landscape where enemy forces have been hiding out conducting experiments on their militant troops. Updated intel reveal they have mastered technology that transmogrifies existing fighters into hideous and powerful swarm creatures. If you hope to survive the no-man’s land of this comet it is crucial that you loot guarded research and use it to convert your own fighters into invading beasts as well as harness the power of guided missiles in order to blast your way through enemy territory.

Should you survive Gaia you will be transported to Kronos. Before it was ravaged by enemy forces, Kronos served as a bustling metropolis and was a primary research station for offensive weaponry. Enemy forces recently invaded Kronos, stealing local research with diabolical plans of evading your increasingly ingenious attacks. Once you gain the technology to cultivate hords of Kamikaze fighters and master the art of missile defense you may have a fighting chance at survival. Be prepared for a battle of epic proportions — to survive Kronos you must be cunning, stealthy, and strategic.

Comet Crash: Bionic Swarm will be available on the PlayStation Network in coming weeks.

Comet Crash Free Update Available Now On PSN!

Ever since we released Comet Crash for PS3 on PSN, we’ve been receiving a stream of email from fans requesting new features. We’re excited to satisfy a bunch of these requests in a content patch that’s available right now. The update introduces new levels, new maps, new Battle settings and a new difficulty mode. The fresh additions showcase the best of what Comet Crash has to offer, while making sure fans have plenty to keep them warm during the holidays.

Check out this gameplay footage of the Kreios Resurgence:

The 1.03 update adds the following features:

  • ‘Expert’ difficulty setting for seasoned Comet Crash players. You’ll see a surge in enemy attacks that will put your skills to the test.
  • 4 new Resurgence levels–one unlocked at the end of each comet during the Campaign. Resurgence levels may require completely new strategies. Beware…no hints!
  • 4 new Battle maps to mix up your games a bit.
  • Battle timer setting. After the timer runs out, all mobile units generate at 8x the normal rate which should bring games to an exciting finish!
  • Thorium setting to tweak available resources in Battle mode.

In Comet Crash, players must use everything at their disposal, including defenses bristling with high-tech weaponry, to stop the rush of enemies from destroying their base. Unlike traditional tower defense games, players must then rally their own forces and launch offensive strikes against the alien threat, using a number of different mobile units, such as the nimble Scout or specialized Thief, which can turn enemy units into powerful allies.

Featuring a robust Campaign Mode with 28 challenging and puzzle-like stages, as well as various multiplayer and co-op modes, Comet Crash offers a gripping combination of strategy and action.

First Look: Comet Crash

EnglishSelect a Language:

Hi everyone!

This is John Bates and Jennifer Pourchot from Pelfast. Pelfast is a small indie startup located in sunny California.

We are excited to announce the upcoming PSN release of our highly acclaimed debut title, Comet Crash. Comet Crash has turned the tower defence genre on its head with completely new and exciting gameplay.

Comet Crash

Tower defence fans appreciate the simple yet addictive experience of building towers to defend from enemy waves. On the other hand, we at Pelfast love the thrill of a massive offensive rush to demolish an enemy base. We designed Comet Crash with both of these elements in mind. Finally, you can send massive swarms of your own troops to wreak havoc on the relentless waves of enemies. Ahhh…sweet revenge!

In Comet Crash, your first priority is to defend your territory from an assortment of enemy invaders. For those of you new to tower defence gameplay, this involves strategically placing various weapon towers to destroy enemy units before they get to your base. To get the job done, Comet Crash provides a devastating arsenal of weapons, including Turrets, Pulsars and Bombers. Future space commanders will need to place each of these weapons strategically to slow the oncoming waves of enemy units. An effective tactician will need to draw on the strengths and weaknesses of their own weapons and units, but also of their enemies.

As we mentioned earlier, one of Comet Crash’s defining characteristics is actively bringing the fight to the enemies own front door — you must devise an offensive strategy. Comet Crash lets you choose between a variety of offensive units to create your own army. Each of these specialized mobile units has its own speed, strength and behavior. Once you have a massive army…ATTACK! By the way, remember that powerful Cell processor that you all have in your PS3? It’s for real. We cranked up the army cap to 1000 individual units per player for some seriously huge attacks. If all else fails, bust through the enemy defences by destroying their towers. Choose to use simple brute force, devise a crafty offensive strategy, initiate land grabs, or use a combination of tactics to win.

In the Campaign, 1-3 players can fight through 28 action-packed levels. As you move through the Campaign you gain access to new technologies that add new strategies to your arsenal. It is up to you to find the most efficient way to spend your resources and to throw together first-class strategies to take down your enemy. Levels can be passed in many different ways so feel free to release your inner genius.

Battle mode allows you to play against your friends, supporting 2-4 players offline. The goal is simple: take out your buddies before they take you out!

We hope you enjoy the latest Comet Crash gameplay footage.

Comet Crash will be available on PSN in October.
