New Killzone: Shadow Fall PS4 video

Countries: , , , ,

With Killzone: Shadow Fall, we are part of an exciting line up of launch titles for PS4. This is both daunting and exciting, but a good feeling to have!

Since the game’s announcement earlier this year at the PlayStation Meeting 2013, we have been hard at work on Killzone Shadow Fall. At the event we were able to give you a brief glimpse of the direction we are taking the game with live on-stage gameplay. The demonstration focused on setting up the new conflict between the two warring factions that now occupy the same world, we are very much looking forward to sharing more of the exciting new gameplay opportunities soon.

Today we are happy to show you a developer diary as part of PlayStation’s “Conversations with creators” series. In this video, we briefly talk about what it means to us to be a launch title on this new platform.

Killzone: Shadow Fall is scheduled for a Holiday 2013 release, and will be available exclusively for PS4.

Happy holidays from all of us here at Guerrilla!

As 2012 draws to a close, we look back at an eventful year for Guerrilla and the Killzone series. In February we released Killzone 3 Multiplayer, a standalone version of Killzone 3‘s online mode and DLC maps, on the PlayStation Store. In August we announced a new handheld title for PlayStation Vita called Killzone: Mercenary, which sees its protagonist fight on both sides of the ISA-Helghast conflict. And in October we simultaneously released Killzone Trilogy, a bundle containing all three first-person shooters in the Killzone series, and Killzone HD, a high-definition remaster of our original Killzone game.

We interrupt your regular scheduled blog content with a gentle reminder from Helghast Autarch Scolar Visari:

“My people… Sons and daughters of Helghan… Today is a glorious day for our nation. For many years, our history was incomplete – divided, fragmented, and split up over multiple platforms. But on this day, the record of our great struggle is made whole. On this day, Killzone Trilogy is released for PlayStation 3!

“Experience the power of the Third Helghast Army in the original Killzone, remastered in majestic HD. Witness the tyranny of the ISA as it attempts to seize Helghan in Killzone 2. Tremble before the awesome might of the Helghast war machine in Killzone 3. Then, go online and smite the enemy on any of the enclosed DLC multiplayer maps!

killzone Trilogy_3D

Hello everyone. I’m very pleased to share with you news that I hope will bring some excitement to those readers with a predilection for all things Helghast and ISA and those who perhaps could well have in the very near future. I can confirm that 24th October will see the launch of Killzone Trilogy.

As you may ascertain from the Trilogy moniker, this forthcoming release will feature all three ground-breaking PS2 and PS3 titles that form the critically acclaimed Killzone triptych.

Here’s a rundown of what you can find contained within the appropriately dark and brooding box. Firstly, we have Killzone HD – which, as you may have guessed, is the curtain-raising original Killzone that kick-started the series, but now with a stunning HD makeover and full trophy support.

The Studio Unveils New Killzone XMB Theme

New Killzone XMB them

Since its launch over a year ago The Studio has brought some of the world’s most exciting artists into the digital world of the PS3, creating bespoke themes and icons which have transformed the look of your XMB. One of these artists, and in fact one of the first featured on The Studio, is illustrator Kristian Hammerstad based in Oslo, whose distinctive ‘Hungry Eyes’ theme became an early hit. He is now back, this time with his take on the Killzone franchise.

Hand-drawn in striking blood-red, black and white, Kristian’s design for this dynamic theme is influenced by all aspects of pop culture. “I draw inspiration from a million different things” he told us, “but perhaps mainly comics and films. For this particular theme the main inspiration was of course also the Killzone game.”

Bringing to life the powerful momentum of the marching army, this is certainly one of The Studio’s most striking themes to date. In celebration of that fact we are also giving you the chance to own a limited edition print of the artwork – head over to the community forum to find out more!
