Ratchet & Clank movie coming to cinemas in 2015, see the first trailer

One of the biggest questions we’ve gotten in the last few years is “When are you going to make a Ratchet & Clank movie?” The truth is, we’ve wanted to do a movie for a long time! Ratchet & Clank’s action, humor and galaxy-spanning adventures have really been the basis for a fantastic game series, and we think it’d translate perfectly to the big screen.

We’ve been looking for the right partner to help us bring a Ratchet & Clank movie to life, and we’re thrilled to announce that Blockade Entertainment and Rainmaker Entertainment are currently in production on Ratchet & Clank’s first cinematic adventure.

Insomniac is honored to play a hands-on role with the film’s production, screenplay, character development, and animation consulting. Furthermore, our own Ratchet & Clank writer, T.J. Fixman, who has written all of the recent Ratchet & Clank games, is writing the script for the film as well.

But don’t take my word for it – check out our teaser above.

Fuse 01

During a PAX East panel over the weekend, Insomniac Games announced a 31st May release date for its upcoming PlayStation 3 co-op shooter Fuse. The game blends some familiar elements of Resistance 2′s large-scale co-op mode with exotic weapons powered by an all-powerful alien substance dubbed, you guessed it, “Fuse.”

Given the news, we reached out to Insomniac Games President Ted Price with a list of topics we plucked from a recent Twitter call for questions. Enjoy, and be sure to leave your thoughts in the comments.

Ratchet & Clank: QForce PS Vita update

Ratchet

We recently posted regarding the delayed release of Ratchet & Clank: QForce on PS Vita.

As announced, the PS Vita version of the game is now due in Spring 2013. The reason for this delay is to give the developer time to create the best portable Ratchet & Clank experience possible.

For those of you who have purchased the PS3 version of the game and are waiting for your PS Vita entitlement, we want to make it up to you as best we can. And so we’ll be offering MotorStorm RC as a free download to all who purchased Ratchet & Clank: QForce for the PS3 system.

ratchet clank qforce

As many of you know, when Ratchet & Clank: QForce launched for the PS3 this past November, we announced that the PS Vita version would be coming out later in January 2013 to ensure the best portable Ratchet & Clank experience possible.

Our friends at Tin Giant have been working night and day to bring Insomniac’s PS3 game to the PS Vita system and to provide our fans with a great game. While the original delay has helped us make the game better, we still need more time to bring the game up to the standards expected by our fans.

We’ve been having a blast playing against you online in Ratchet & Clank: QForce the last few weeks, and we hope you’ve been enjoying the game as much as we’ve enjoyed making it and playing online ourselves.

We know many of you have been asking when the PS Vita version of the game will arrive. As you know, R&C QForce is a cross-buy enabled title, so your purchase of the PS3 game entitles you to download the PS Vita release at no additional cost upon its release.

Developer Tin Giant has been hard at work finishing the PS Vita version, which will be available soon in early 2013! If you bought the game digitally, you’ll be able to download the PS Vita version via your Download List on the XMB when it releases. For those purchasers of the retail disc, you’ll also be able to download the PS Vita version via the “Disc Benefits” option under Game on the XMB.

One thing every great multiplayer game has is regular new content and support. The team in North Carolina has been working hard and listening to your feedback the last few weeks. We have a new patch coming out this week that addresses many of your requests, and fixes some of the balance issues both online and in the campaign. In addition, we are adding two additional levels to the weapons in the game, so you’ll be able to further up(grade) your arsenal.
