Attention all Motorstorm fans! Motorstorm RC — one of the most popular PSN games this year — has just received a community-focused update and I’m here to give you all the details! Beginning today, Motorstorm RC fans will have access to new tracks to try out for free, experience fun and more accessible races, the chance to share challenges whenever you like, and recover lost medals!

It doesn’t matter if you’re new to MotorStorm RC or if you’ve been playing from the start: This update makes MotorStorm RC better for you and your friends. I might be a little biased, but it’s definitely worth a look if you’ve got a PS3 or a PS Vita – and even more so if you have both! So please give it a go and tell your friends about it too.

The update will be available to download today from 5pm GMT / 6pm BST. Please note that it can take up to an hour for the update to be available in all territories. You will be prompted to download this game update when you next start up the game from the PlayStation XMB or PlayStation Vita LiveArea.

It costs £2.49/€2.99 and, like the full game, you only have to pay once to use the DLC across both platforms.

Get ready for huge ramps, banked corners and big air because the venue for this all-new Festival is an impressive indoor skate park. Established by skateboarders in 1992 but long-since abandoned, it has now been brought back to life by the wily MotorStorm organisers…

Take on 16 challenging Pro-Am events (including never before seen Super Car races) over four new racing circuits to win all 48 medals – then battle it out with friends and rivals worldwide to make sure you’re faster than all of them on every event!

MotorStorm RC is almost here! In no time at all you and your friends will be drifting on ice-caps, going for gold in the desert, fighting for fractions of a second along tropical beaches, and facing down your competition amongst a ruined city.

It’s rare for a PlayStation Network download game to feature a Platinum Trophy, so I’m pleased to reveal that MotorStorm RC is one of the few that does on both PS3 and PS Vita! “Lunatics Unite”!

Supercharged Collect at least one medal on each festival event and you’ll reach the ‘Supercharged’ speeds of the Super Car: 16 lightning-fast Hot Lap challenges await that will test your skills like never before.

Let it Slide Drifting has never been so much fun, but holding that slide for more than one turn can be tricky. ‘Let it Slide’ rewards your mastery of the drift when you throw down 2000 points in a single attempt. Do you have what it takes?

MotorStorm RC is a few short weeks away and already the competitive online cross-play at its heart is igniting intense rivalries. Here at Evolution Studios there’s been a lot of competition for the best performances on every track and we’re thrilled that gamers and journalists are experiencing this at special preview events all around the world (such as the UK Vita Rooms).

Ahead of getting the opportunity to jump into the competition for yourself (Vita Rooms is still on the road, by the way!), I’m here to give you the low down on just how online competition works with other players – running you through a short video of me competing with Zoe (Evolution Studios QA Manager, who sits on the desk across from me) as I take on her performance in a Hot Lap race.

It’s so easy to see what your friends and rivals have been up to and, with super-fast load times on both PS3 and PS Vita, jump into a race instantly to beat their fastest times and wipe the smirk off their face.

Competing like this, on your own schedule, is a perfect fit for both MotorStorm RC and the PlayStation Vita, letting you pick up the game and compete against friends when it’s convenient for you.
