Jak and Daxter Trilogy coming to PS Vita in June 2013

Last November Naughty Dog announced that the Jak and Daxter Trilogy would be making its PS3 debut. Hitting store shelves in February 2012, Naughty Dog’s beloved code received a faithful HD remake that made for a lot of happy fans and introduced newcomers to the treasured series.

We’re now pleased to announce we’re expanding the collection to the portable audience. Arriving in June, three of your favorite Jak and Daxter titles – Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, and Jak 3 will be coming to PlayStation Vita as Jak and Daxter Trilogy.

The power of the PS Vita allows Jak and Daxter Trilogy to feature authentically reproduced graphics from the original games. If you’re a longtime fan you’ll instantly feel at home in the game world and new players will get to experience the world of Jak and Daxter for the first time via the cool new touch based applications of certain mini games throughout the collection. Holding these games in the palm of your hand has never been more exciting and responsive.

The Last of Us development series episode 2: Wasteland Beautiful

Countries: , , , ,

In our first video in The Last of Us development series we took a look at the Infected. We explored their unpredictable nature, what the Cordyceps fungus has done to these humans, and how we as developers worked some plausible science about infection into the game.

Area 5 returned to the studio to discover how we created the game world. The second video in the series looks at what went into the concept and design of the world and its environments in The Last of Us. Check it out:

The Last of Us: American Dreams Comic Book Issue #1 Digital Edition Out Wednesday

The Last of Us: American Dreams

We’re proud to share the news that the digital edition of the first issue of The Last of Us: American Dreams – a comic book series published by Dark Horse Comics and jointly written by Naughty Dog Creative Director Neil Druckmann and the talented Faith Erin Hicks – is available next Wednesday, April 10. The series art is also by Faith, with colors by Rachelle Rosenberg, lettering by Clem Robins, and the stunning covers by Julián Totino Tedesco.

Trust us when we say that American Dreams doesn’t spoil any of the story found in The Last of Us game, and instead gives you a great introduction to Ellie and her life as told through events inside the quarantine zone taking place prior to the game. I have to say, even though I’ve been able to watch the American Dreams series take shape over the past several months as we worked on it with Dark Horse Comics, it was still no less awesome to finally see it in front of me and read Issue #1 as an actual, real comic book.

UNCHARTED 3: Multiplayer gets a little Oddball!

UNCHARTED 3 - Bag Head UNCHARTED 3 - Tape Mask

The UNCHARTED 3 Multiplayer Free-to-Play launched a few weeks ago and we’ve seen a healthy uplift to our community to tune of over 350,000 downloads of the Free-to-Play client to date globally. We’re very excited to see our community grow and are stoked to keep expanding the world of UNCHARTED to as many people as possible.

To keep that momentum going, as promised, we’re making new DLC available for purchase every month until June 2013. This month we’re recognising Extraterrestrial Abductions Day – or a day around it anyway – by unveiling our Oddball-themed character parts for your UNCHARTED 3 Multiplayer characters.

Why Oddball? Well, these character parts defy classification as they don’t quite fit among the numerous other parts we’ll have coming out over the next few months, and Extraterrestrial Abductions Day is a bit of an odd holiday anyway. See the images above for a glimpse of some of the Oddball parts available tomorrow.

Recently our community have been challenging other communities, fansites and clans for bragging rights on a variety of multiplayer games, but most recently our community went a step further and challenged Naughty Dog themeselves to Uncharted Multiplayer.

They kindly accepted our challenge during their lunch break from developing The Last of Us. We streamed the event live on the Forum, but don’t worry if you missed out as you can still watch the replay of the event in the video here:
