Hustle Kings: Breaking News…

Countries: , , , ,

For all of you Hustle Kings out there we have two great bits of news for you.

Firstly on the 19th of May at around 5pm a new patch will be made available which contains the following features and changes:

  • Improved Breaking : the pack has now been adjusted so that instead of the rack being perfectly spaced every time, a very slight variance has been introduced between the balls which causes almost every break to be different
  • You can now replay the shots that are played in attract mode
  • Even more stats during loading screens
  • Game options can be modified in online rooms
  • Watch other people’s matches in the all new Spectator Mode!
  • Plus a new loading icon, viewing player’s profiles during an online match and more

But that’s not all, there is a brand new chalk coming to the in-game store. Second Sight allows you to see the path of an additional ball… really helpful on those tough trickshots and plants.

Snooker_14

Finally (and the best bit in my opinion) is that the Hustle Kings Snooker pack will be launched on the 2nd of June. Included in this great pack is a brand new environment, new ball set, with the full snooker rules and scoring. As well as normal snooker if you get this pack you will also get an offline tournament mode, more music and a brand new game mode called Snooker6 where there are only 6 red balls allowing for a much quicker game.

Snooker_27 Snooker_01

Once you get the Snooker Pack there will also be a batch of new trophies, for you to try and unlock, to help with this we have included a free pack of Eagle Eye chalk if you purchase the Snooker pack! Overall I have really enjoyed the time I have spent playing snooker and can’t wait to get online to pit my wits against the rest of the community!

A Facebook First For Buzz!: Quiz World Fans

Countries: , , , ,

Since the arrival of Facebook for PS3 at the end of last year, down here at Relentless’ towers in Brighton we’ve been busily putting together a world-first. I’m pleased to tell you that on the 22nd March we’ll be patching our most-recent game, Buzz!: Quiz World, with PS3′s first true in-game Facebook publishing features.

How does it work? Super-simple. Once you’ve set-up your Facebook account on the PS3 and installed the patch, at the end of each game you’ll be offered the chance to publish to Facebook some info about what you’ve just played.

Buzz! Facebook

This info can be about a multiplayer game you’ve just enjoyed…

Buzz! Facebook

…or a singleplayer challenge you’ve just set a great score in…

Buzz! Facebook

…and you can post up to five times a day.

On the Facebook side of things, you’ll see a bunch of colourful Buzz! stories, telling your friends what you’ve been up to in the game.

Buzz! Facebook

We’ve built this patch for as many languages as possible, with support for (take a deep breath) English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, Polish, Czech, and Croatian.

It’s great to be offering the first ever PS3 feature of this kind to Buzz! fans. We’ve been working closely with the team at Facebook to make this happen (thanks are due to Sony’s online tech guys in the States too). Quiz World is a fantastic social game and it feels like a great fit to connect it with the world’s biggest social network. Look out for the patch today – we hope you have fun with it.

Heavy Rain – DLC Release Date and Patch

EnglishSelect a Language:

Countries: , , , ,

Hi everyone – following last month’s launch, it’s been fantastic to see Heavy Rain getting such a good reception – lots of positive feedback, and great sales too! Thanks to all of you out there who’ve supported this innovative game with your comments and enthusiasm.

Heavy Rain

Firstly, the development team has been working hard to quickly identify and resolve the problems that a small percentage of players have been reporting over the last few weeks. I’m pleased to confirm that a patch will be released today addressing a number of issues – thanks to everyone for their patience.

Those of you who got your hands on a copy of the Collector’s Edition have already had the chance to play Heavy Rain: Chronicle 1 – The Taxidermist. But those of you that didn’t will soon get your chance – this additional playable scene will be available to download through the PlayStation Store from Thursday, April 1st 2010, and it will be priced at €3.99 / £3.19.

Chronicle 1 – The Taxidermist provides additional backstory to Heavy Rain, and focuses on Madison Paige as she investigates a lead that turns unexpectedly perilous. The episode is an expansion and update of the original ‘Taxidermist’ demo that received such a positive response when shown at E3 and gamescom to unveil Heavy Rain back in 2008.

Patch Alert: MAG v1.03

EnglishSelect a Language:

Countries: , , , ,

We’ve listened to your feedback and watched you play our game for weeks to create what is, without a doubt, our biggest and most important patch yet.

Our amendments are dramatic and they are many and we’re confident that they make the game even better than it already was. Not only have we revamped the effectiveness of every weapon in the arsenal and tuned our ranged firing to be more realistic, but we’ve also sped up the weapon and gear swapping process, closed off exploits that gave some teams unfair advantages on certain maps, and have made it more obvious when it’s too late to stop a charge from blowing up.

But those changes aren’t even the half of it, as you’ll see by checking our patch notes below. The best news, though, is that you’ll be able to download this patch starting today at 1am Pacific/ 4am Eastern/ 9am GMT, 25th February. Simply log-on to MAG when the time is right and the update will be ready for download.

We hope you enjoy the new changes – have fun and see you on the battlefield!

Patch v1.03 Available Now

Gameplay

  • Overhauled tuning of multiple weapons of all types (see “Weapon” section below)
  • Improved speed of weapon and gear swapping by approximately 500 milliseconds.
  • Fixed bug in SVER’s Aralkum Mechanical Acquisition map and Absheron Refinery Domination map that allowed players to defuse a charge planted on a repaired gate or door.
  • Added a “solid tone” sound effect near the end of a charge’s beeping detonation timer so that players know when the charge can no longer be defused and that they should vacate the area.
  • “Medium Improved” Armor now works as intended with the speed properties of Medium Armor and a defensive value greater than Medium, but less than Heavy Armor.
  • Changed resuscitated player’s camera orientation to match the last camera direction used while incapacitated instead of the pre-harm camera.
  • Players no longer lose XP if a teammate is killed by an objective explosion caused by a charge they planted.
  • Respec Point requirements in Barracks have been changed from 3K, 5K, 10K, 17K, 26K, and 26K-Repeat to 1K, 2K, 3K, and 3K-Repeat.
  • Lowered the amount of damage necessary to kill an incapacitated enemy.
  • All fired projectiles (RPGs, Turret Rockets) have been given a steadier aim.
  • Mines that haven’t been triggered are no longer removed from the map when the dead player that deploys them respawns unless that player changes their Loadout (note: The maximum number of mines you can plant cannot exceed the number you initially spawn with).
  • Fixed bug that prevented “fully-resuscitated” players with more than 100 health points from receiving their full HP.
  • Fixed bug that caused players to take unnecessary damage from both friendly and enemy vehicles when touching them.
  • Players no longer lose leadership points after entering “Veteran Mode.”
  • Weapons

  • “From the hip” firing for Light and Medium machine guns have stronger recoil and are less accurate when moving.
  • Tuned weapon damage for all three factions.
  • Modified all short-ranged weapons (pistols, PDWs, shotguns, SMGs) so that they’re less effective at long distances.
  • Made Battle Rifles more effective.
  • Reduced accuracy bonus for using iron sights and reflex sights so that players can no longer snipe with weapons that aren’t intended to do so.
  • Increased damage values for all rockets to make them more effective (ex: three rockets can now destroy a DE turret).
  • Shooting through thin materials (fences, tents, etc.) will be more consistent.
  • Increased spread on shotguns.
  • Improved animations for rocket launchers.
  • Graphics

  • Fixed bug that caused the recoil animation to end early or stop animating if a player was firing their weapon for a long period of time.
  • Changed detonation time on smoke and poison gas grenades to prevent them from exploding in mid-air to eliminate unintended FX issues.
  • Added realistic fogging effects to sky-domes.
  • Technical

  • Fixed most conditions that caused players to be caught in a “respawn loop” which kept restarting the respawn queue when the countdown clock reached 0.
  • Changed in-game conditions to make it less likely to experience in-game freezes.
  • Improved client-side stability.
