It sounds like a good chunk of PlayStation HQ workers will be playing Skyrim this weekend and I’ll be one of them. I’ve created an Elf called Peter and I plan to spend a lot of time sneaking around forests. If you’re playing too this weekend, why not give us a little diary of your first few hours (no spoilers though).

On the topic of Payday: The Heist codes for the PLAY promotion, I’m told that they have all been sent out. If you haven’t received yours then please contact customer services. Click here to find all the contact details you need for assistance.

“How are you all doing this weekend? Too busy playing Uncharted 3 to be reading this? It has been a busy week for me at work, as this recap list will attest. Earlier this week I had an interesting discussion with some of our community members (in fact, it was Nehta who you may remember from this interview. I asked them what they thought of the blog and they said that there was almost too much content – that it is updating so frequently that they find it hard to keep up. How do you feel about this? I’m looking into development options and my priority is ensuring that we can give important and popular posts a little longer in the spotlight. I’ve always said that this is your blog, so I’d be interested to hear if you have any ideas of how best to achieve this. Perhaps you could recommend other blogs and sites that have found elegant solutions.

Thanks in advance and here is your recap:

It’s Halloween on Monday! One of my favourite things about the community we have here on PlayStation.Blog is that you’re such an international bunch. I can see from the little flags next to your comments that we have folks from all over Europe, a few gamers from the USA and Canada, and even the the occasional Indian and Brazilian popping on to see what’s up. I can tell you from our web data that there’s barely a patch of Earth on the globe that isn’t reading this – cool, huh? Back to the point at hand, I’d be interested to hear how you celebrate Halloween in your neck of the planet, if at all?

Back to business, I’d like to send my congratulations to the guys over Official PlayStation Magazine UK for launching their website http://www.officialplaystationmagazine.co.uk/. From now on, I’ll be included their best stories of the week in this recap, and I’ll be adding links to their reviews in the PlayStation Conversation (soon to be renamed) box on the right-hand side of the blog. I think this is a good way of bringing in reviews from a source that I know many of you respect and trust.

“First off, I know that many of you have been asking about the status of PAYDAY: The Heist on here and via twitter. This game is published by SOE and I have been emailing them daily to try and get this information for you. At the time of writing, I don’t have a confirmed release date for the game but I have made SOE aware of the need for clarification and as soon as they lock down their date, we’ll post the news here on PlayStation.Blog.

In other news, I’m torn in two this weekend between playing Arkham City and binge-reading Haruki Murakami’s 1Q84. Our Weekend Debate was about heroes and Murakami is undoubtedly mine. On the subject of books, I had a discussion with a friend the other night about how many films are based on novels and yet so few games. I’ve always thought that Blindness by José Saramago (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blindness_(novel)) would make for an interesting take on the zombie game genre. What are your suggestions?

“Can you hear that on the tip of the wind? That’s the pre Christmas PS3 line-up galloping into view, and this year is a stonker. Just thinking that, before we break for the holiday, I will have finished Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, Arkham City, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, Battlefield 3 and a few that I have forgotten makes my thumbs curl behind my fingers and beg for mercy. Which of that selection are you most looking forward to, or are you psyched about something completely different?
