Thomas Was Alone out tomorrow for PS Vita and PS3

It’s done.

A game which began as a Flash game made over a weekend because my girlfriend was away and I was a bit bored, is coming out tomorrow on PS3 and PS Vita via PSN and PS+.

That last sentence was a bit of a mouthful. I apologise.

Thomas Was Alone is a game about friendship and jumping. As you can see from the images and videos no doubt littered amongst this post, it is also very much about rectangles. If you’ve got PS Plus and you’re in the EU, you can download the game as part of the IGC at no additional cost. Which is awesome.

This version will also give you first access to some new stuff. There’s a new DLC episode which tells the story of Benjamin, a new square with a jetpack and big ideas, and a commentary mode in the main game where you can listen to me going on and on about how clever I was putting the game together.

ibb & obb: How one man realised his PS3 indie dream

We’re almost there. ibb and obb is nearing completion and we hope to release the game on PSN this May.

Getting to this point has been quite an adventure. Currently there are between four and ten people working on the project, but around seven years ago this all started with my graduation project and I could only dream of where it is right now.

I studied industrial design and always thought I would become a product designer. But over the course of my studies my interest for product design faded and at the same time it felt like something new was happening in the game industry.

It was around the time that Katamari Damacy made its first appearance on PlayStation. I loved it and to me it signalled a start of more original titles finding their way to a larger audience. I strongly wanted to be part of this change and decided to focus my graduation project on game design.

Hitman HD Trilogy on PS3

The release of Hitman: HD Trilogy this week on PS3 and PlayStation Network brings Hitman: Blood Money onto the PlayStation format for the first time. With it come two additional classic Hitman games – Silent Assassin and Contracts.

More than anything else IO Interactive has created in the past decade and a half, Hitman has been the defining series for the studio. Five titles in the franchise have been released in the last 12 years, across most AAA platforms available within the same time period.

MonkeyPaw Games is always looking for something to twist your mind a little. A game that makes you wonder ‘who came up with this?’. Luckily, there is no shortage of weird and wonderful curios from the land of Japan. And today we’re pleased to bring you the next of our “subliminally strange but always pleasing” Japanese imports for the PSN section.

Rapid Angel will debut, today, 21st December, at the reasonable price of £3.99/€4.99.

Anime characters set the scene in this captivating action beat ‘em up. Choose between three heroines, each with their own fighting style and personality. There is much nuanced charm and detail here.
