Recent weeks have been a little quiet as the games industry’s seasonal lull takes effect and there simply aren’t many games coming out. However, that’s about to change and, looking at next week’s schedule, there are a few stories you’re not going to want to miss. I couldn’t possibly lift the lid on what they are, but I can tell you that we’ve got a little bit of something everyone, whether you own PS3, PS Vita, PS Move and/or PSP.

At this time of year I like to enjoy the outdoors and, with relatively few new game releases, catch up on titles I have missed or haven’t gotten around to. This weekend I’m thinking of taking a look at From Dust or Vanquish. Any other ideas?

I’m on a business trip next week but will still be around to keep the blog up to date and answer as many queries as I can on our @PlayStation EU Twitter feed. There are thousands of things you could do this weekend: play FIFA Street, finish a jigsaw puzzle, learn a new musical instrument… and you can also enter this competition from Sony UK and be in with a chance to Visit Naughty Dog Studios in the US and be captured to appear as a multiplayer character in Uncharted 3. There are only a few days left to enter so get that hat of yours in the ring.

And while we’re talking about the wider Sony family, check out this video I discovered earlier in the week (it’s best with headphones). It shows a new audio technique called Binaural Sound which aims to replicate how a person in a particular scene would actually hear what is happening around them.
