Okay, hands up if you saw Tuesday’s Ratchet & Clank movie announcement coming. Anyone? A lovely surprise indeed and, judging by the trailer, it looks like it’s in great shape.

Elsewhere, I think we had a great mix of posts on the Blog this week. We offered a closer look at the PS4′s new DUALSHOCK4 controller, a brand new Splinter Cell Blacklist trailer and a nice little Store sale on some great ‘hidden gems’ (my personal top pick – phenomenal strategy title Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes).

And it was another week plump with PS Vita game announcements – including TxK from eccentric industry legend Jeff Minter, charming new episodic adventure Jacob Jones and the Bigfoot Mystery, and laid-back puzzler Quell Memento.

Finally, while we’re on the subject of PS Vita, don’t forget to download excellent indie platformer Thomas Was Alone, which launched on Wednesday. It’s available free of charge for PS Plus members now.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and see you back here tomorrow!

Yes, it’s time again to look back at the week that was. The main event? Surely news of your PlayStation Plus content for May. Hitman: Absolution, Catherine, Sine Mora, Velocity Ultra, Malicious… that’s as strong a line-up as the service has seen to date, in my book.

Elsewhere on the Blog, we revealed Jak & Daxter’s first full PS Vita appearance, welcomed Sega on to talk about their new version of classic Disney platformer Castle of Illusion, debuted a new Diggs Nightcrawler clip and unveiled the box art for Quantic Dream’s keenly anticipated blockbuster BEYOND: Two Souls.

We’ll have more on BEYOND next week, as well as the results of our recent PS Plus content poll and plenty more besides. See you on Monday!

Hey there everybody. After a relatively quiet start to the month, things really picked up this week. We saw a major new system update arrive on PS Vita bringing some oft-requested new features, a great new development video on The Last of Us, a release date for Media Molecule’s charming adventure Tearaway, and news of a demo for Soul Sacrifice. We also welcomed Ubisoft and Bethesda onto the Blog to show off tantalising new expansions for Far Cry 3 and Dishonored, respectively.

Oh, and in case you missed it – in this week’s sale post we revealed that Hitman Absolution will be next month’s headline PS Plus title. Stay tuned – we’ll announce the rest of May’s content next week. It’s looking like a great month for the service! See you all Monday!

So, it’s yet another frigid weekend up here in Northern Europe. Southern Hemisphere/Mediterranean readers, we are mighty jealous! Still, all this unseasonal snow and ice is the perfect excuse to hunker down and catch up on some gaming, and I hope you’re all enjoying whatever it is you’re playing right now.

Should you fancy taking a break, we’ve got plenty of catch-up reading right here on the Blog. My highlights this week: news of insane indie platformer Stealth Bastard migrating to PS3 and PS Vita, a release date and new trailer for brilliant Japan Studio platformer Puppeteer and a look at a raft of enhancements coming soon to God of War: Ascension. See below for the full reading list.

Meet you back here on Monday – we’ve a busy week planned!

So, last week I promised you a bumper seven days for indie announcements, and I hope you’ll agree that we duly delivered. We took the wraps off Spelunky, Terraria PS Vita, Limbo PS Vita, Guacamelee!, Metrico, Primal Carnage and Divekick, among others, and saw progress updates from the genius teams behind rain, Velocity Ultra and ibb & obb.

With the likes of Hotline Miami, Frozen Synapse, Thomas Was Alone, Sportsfriends and Luftrausers also on the way, it’s shaping up to be a fantastic summer for those PS Vita and PS3 owners into the quirkier side of gaming. And there’s more exciting reveals to come, of course. ;)

That said, the indies didn’t have a total PS Blog monopoly this week. Ken Levine stopped by to mark BioShock Infinite’s triumphant launch, Insomniac boss Ted Price answered your Fuse questions, we caught our first glimpse of some Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag gameplay and Sly Cooper returned to the wild. Oh, and don’t forget the beefy Spring sale on PlayStation Store.

See the full reading list below and, should it be observed in your region, I hope you all have a great Easter holiday weekend!
