‘Heads-Up’ Game Store Update Wednesday 25th April 2012

Countries: , , , ,

Greetings citizens!

Telltale_WalkingDead_Feb_15_(1)_PVWIMG

This week’s front runner is The Walking Dead, courtesy of Telltale Games, who previously brought you the much loved Back to the Future: The Game.

Set within the same universe as the hit comic you take control of Lee Everett, a brand new character for the game. You’ll see the world of The Walking Dead from a new perspective, find out more about existing characters from the comic and see the emotional development of the various characters. With the success of the comic book and TV series, now you can experience The Walking Dead in a new light. What better timing than now, before the next season begins later in the year?

You’ll be able to get a Trial of the game (see below for locale details) as well as the complete episode. There’s also an option to purchase a Season Pass, netting you access to all 5 episodes (episodes 2-5 will release monthly) and an exclusive theme, all at a discounted rate.

Last Friday saw the digital release of Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention for the Vita, so if you missed it then be sure to grab it now!

I trust football fans are all over this. Released yesterday (Trial also available), this expansion to FIFA 12 gives you the chance to take on a brand new expedition mode and take on challenges based on the real tournament. Please note, FIFA 12 game disc is required.

O the back of our announcement for an all new God of War, I’m happy to also announce a sale, aptly named The God of War Sale! The sale includes the first two HD titles, the PSP games and some little bits and bobs for other games. Check out the full list below.

And finally, PlayStation Plus members all the details can be found here.

‘Heads-Up’ Game Store Update 18th April

Countries: , , , ,

Hey, hey!

Out of the gates today we have The House of the Dead 4 (move compatible) with a Plus discount of 30%, Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time (mmm, sandwich) and NHL 12.

PaintPark

We’ve got a new app for the Vita today. A little art based app with the simple name of Paint Park. Using the touch screen controls, you’re able to draw, doodle, sketch and scribble whatever you’re able to think of. Feel like getting creative with photos taken with your Vita? You can do that, too! I wonder what amazing drawings users will manage to produce with this. Oh, before I forget, the app is also free. Colour me excited!

CoD_Black Box - Wing Defense

On Thursday, April 19 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection #1 will release on PSN, the first of four Content Collections available for purchase to CoD players. MW3 Collection #1 includes an unprecedented breadth and variety of content for Call of Duty downloadable release – four brand new multiplayer maps Liberation, Piazza, Overwatch and Black Box along with new Special Ops Missions Black Ice and Negotiator, marking the first time Special Ops has been made downloadable online in franchise history.

I know a whole host of players will be excited for this so to avoid overloading the servers please consider topping up your store wallet today in preparation for tomorrow’s release. This will hopefully relax the strain on our servers somewhat.

Of course, let’s not forget other DLC content ranging from more Motorstorm RC content, more Soul Calibur V costumes and a new level pack for Disney Universe. See below for this week’s list of DLC.

Also worth special mention, FIFA Euro 2012 trial and the full release will happen on Tuesday, April 24th so mark your calendars for that. Please note FIFA 12 is required for this content.

‘Heads-Up’ Game Store Update 11th April 2012

Countries: , , , ,

Episodes from Liberty City heads its way onto the PS Store on this fine sunny day*. This includes both expansions (The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony) and won’t require the original GTAIV disc.

For PlayStation Vita we now have Stardrone Extreme, a game that I can only describe as really, really colourful!

U3DDMapPack_DLC_london_3

There is a varied bunch of DLC content today, too from Dynasty Warriors 7 to Uncharted 3. Yep, Uncharted 3 has a new set of maps available today for you fortune hunting folk out there. Nothing like running around on the streets of London, eh?

FFXIII-2-Gilgamesh-2

Gilgamesh also travels through time to say hello and then proceed to make your life difficult in a new coliseum battle for Final Fantasy XIII-2. Noel gets his outfit from Assassin’s Creed and Serah gets her outfit designed by a member from AKB48, a Japanese group so big both in members and popularity.

The Journey soundtrack today is also being released today, too. A game praised for its music, I am sure this will go down a treat for some.

We’ve also got a bit of a sale going on for various Tom Clancy titles. More information will be detailed courtesy of Andy soon but, you’ll be able to hunt the offers down once the store refreshes later today.

As always, the list of content follows below.

Happy gaming.

Adieu!

*It was sunny as I wrote this. It may not be sunny now, however…

Ahoy there!

I Am Alive, Wheels of Destruction and two bundles of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire are this week’s main PlayStation 3 titles.

IAmAlive_FeaturedImage_PVWIMG

I Am Alive, is a believable post-apocalyptical tale, there are no supernatural threats, just an everyman who faces the permanent insecurity of a now decaying and hazardous world and humanity’s darkest inclinations. Will you hang on to your humanity and help strangers or are you ready to sacrifice others in order to survive?

Keep it going with your rage fits in Asura’s Wrath’s new Episode 15.5 DLC or, if getting angry isn’t your thing then, how about strutting your stuff in some new Trials for Ninja Gaiden 3? New customisations and a new weapons all see release for Ninja Gaiden 3 today.

dampierre

Dampierre finally becomes available to the wider public for Soul Calibur V so now you too can prance around with your curly mustache (not to be confused with the other game that refers to a curly mustache).

Check out the complete list of all the DLC and other content below. For Plus content click here and don’t forget, the Spring Savings continue on, with new titles added this week – check them out here.
