Assassin’s Creed III’s First Trailer

Countries: , , , ,

Hey there PlayStation Assassins!

After several years of work, by hundreds of some of the most talented developers on the planet, we are extraordinarily pleased to show you the very first official trailer for Assassin’s Creed III. Today, we’d like to offer a glimpse of the rich backdrop provided by the American Revolution, as well as sneaking in some details about our Native American protagonist: Connor.

Keep your eyes peeled for a certain historic figure you may recognize (trust me, he’ll be hard to miss)… and ponder his role both in a story of the foundation of a nation and the ceaseless conflict between the Templars and Assassins.

As previously announced, Assassin’s Creed III ships for PS3 on October 31, 2012.

Far Cry 3: A Look Behind the Scenes of a Mo-Cap Studio

Countries: , , , ,

DSC06704

Nowadays, where a Triple-AAA rarely leaves the development studio without having at least 13,000 animations (excluding cut-scenes), it seems only logical that the evolution of game animations leaves the sprites of the early days and the 3D-models of the not so early days behind and enters the universe of real-life actors.

This being said, we must not forget that Motion-Capturing for videogames is still a technology in development. While nearly all the big studios in the world are experimenting with it, no one would really claim having found the perfect solution for all kinds of games.

We didn’t really have to think twice when Ubisoft offered us a flight to Montreal, Canada, so that we could visit their mo-cap Studio and talk to actor Michael Mandor, who plays the character of Vaas in the upcoming Far Cry 3. I don’t want to get too corny here, but for someone who is usually only allowed to see almost-done games in nicely decorated booths it is kind of a special moment to enter the room where the actual magic in game development happens today.

Ubisoft PS Vita Week: Relive Pop History In Michael Jackson The Experience

Countries: , , , ,

I started at Ubisoft around the time that we launched the first iterations of Michael Jackson The Experience. Being a longtime fan of the King of Pop, I always hoped that I could experience the game on the road. With Michael Jackson The Experience coming to PS Vita on February 22nd, my wish has been granted!

Michael Jackson The Experience for PS Vita Michael Jackson The Experience for PS Vita

In Michael Jackson The Experience, you’ll experience the King of Pop’s chart-topping tracks as you draw shapes and tap on both of PS Vita’s multi touch pads to the beat and choreography of the Michael Jackson avatar. You’ll play through 15 HD scenes inspired by Michael Jackson’s iconic music videos and short films, including “Smooth Criminal,” “Thriller,” “Remember the Time” and many more, all with high-definition quality graphics. Master each of those performances and unlock collectibles and rewards, including alternative outfits and special effects. Michael Jackson The Experience will also have song-based leaderboards and an online Dance Battle mode, giving you a reason to to keep playing these classics over and over again.

Lumines Electronic Symphony for PS Vita

In 2005, Lumines was released as the number one-ranked title for the PlayStation Portable, and still holds its place as one of the top five games currently available for the system. Now, we are taking steps to build beyond the PSP classic and bring the best Lumines experience to PlayStation Vita with Lumines Electronic Symphony. (more…)
