Welcome – You’ve Been Waiting

Hello and welcome to the brand new official PlayStation.Blog from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE).

For the loyal PlayStation fans, the title of this post echoes what Patrick Seybold said when the US blog launched back in 2007. Yes, it’s taken us a while to get here and we know that many of you have been asking for a European blog for a long time now. We’ve been listening and thank you all for your patience and support whilst we’ve been getting everything ready for today’s launch. Now that we’re here, it’s our hope that this blog will grow to become a one-stop-shop for your daily fix of PlayStation news from across the SCEE region.

A special welcome to all the readers from the SCEA PlayStation.Blog and ThreeSpeech – you guys probably already got a pretty good idea of the type of content we’ll be posting; but let me give any newcomers a quick preview of what you can look forward to hearing about….

Like our US sister-site, we’ll be sharing with you all the latest PlayStation news, interviews, trailers, event coverage and much more with a European flair; everything will come firsthand from the people who work here at SCEE, in the development teams and across our third parties.

Did we mention contests? Yes, we’ll have some exciting contest for our European fans, sadly the US folks won’t be eligible :-(

Plus we’re expecting to bring you a good mix of international gaming news as well as cool insights into what’s going on in your backyard; from the British Isles, across Europe and all the way down under to Australia and New Zealand.

Some news is bigger than SCEE though, so where appropriate we’ll be coordinating efforts with Jeff and Chris from the US blog on major announcements.

But it’s not all about us! We’d love to hear from you too; anyone with a PSN Online ID can rate blog posts and leave comments, giving you the chance to post your thoughts and questions directly to the people from across SCEE and the game industry. To get started, have a read through the Comments Policy then just sign in with your PlayStation Network ID, click here if you don’t yet have an account.

Looking ahead, we’ll be launching French, Italian, German and Spanish versions of this blog in the run-up to GamesCon this August. We’ll continue to adapt the content that we post here in response to what you enjoy hearing about, and bring in new features to help you get the most out of the blog.

In the meantime, join me on a little PlayStation Blog Tour to find out a bit more about all of the blog features, including how to follow us on Twitter or receive daily updates in your mailbox.

So we hope that you’ll stick around, join in the conversation and tell us what you think. Have fun and enjoy!

Does this mean we can look here for PS store updates early i.e. get a good idea whats released or is planned to be released before the store update goes live ? :)

Good luck with the blog

We should have a couple of updates for you this afternoon on the new content in the PlayStation Store and SingStore. The guys who work on these will be posting the updates on a regular basis, as soon as we get the content locked in.

Congratulations guys from all the team at

SinsToJudge 28 May, 2009 @ 13:27

Congrats guys, the site looks fantastic :D Let’s hope there are lots of competitions (and that AU and NZ fans are eligible :) )and that we can get lots of positive dicussions happening. Also, lots of blog posts by developers :D

Perhaps you can do a focus on development in EU regions? We always hear about how games are developed in the US, it would be nice to go behind the scenes with devs like GG and indie devs also.

Viva the EU blog :P

Great job SCEE! :D

Spawnofmoose 28 May, 2009 @ 13:28

Welcome to the internets! :D

First Portuguese here… loooool

I’m loving the design of this site, its own identity whilst remaining true to the style of the US PS Blog. Looking forward to a more Euro Central Community as well.

Hooray the wait is over!

Yay.. This is good…..

Great, liking this. I would like cross referencing with the us blog so we won’t miss anything important.
