New Killzone 2 Content Coming To PlayStation Home

Hello everyone! My name is Victor and I’m the Editor for at Guerrilla. For my first post on the European PlayStation.Blog, I have the honour of announcing the new Killzone-themed content for PlayStation Home.

Have you ever peered out of the windows of your cosy Harbour Studio apartment and wished that the view was a little less… serene? Maybe you’ve stared down at the calm, sunlit marina and wondered what it would be like to overlook a burning, war-torn cityscape. Perhaps you feel that the clean, contemporary architecture of the Studio doesn’t quite possess the grandeur to match your megalomaniacal ego.

Killzone 2 in PS Home - Room 1

The Visari Throne Room apartment for PlayStation Home is just what you need. Based on the throne room inside Visari’s Palace from the final mission of Killzone 2, it combines the majestic proportions of Helghast architecture with the regal aesthetic of the Autarch himself. Tastefully lit by a hellish, alien sunset, it is guaranteed to impress and humble anyone you invite over for a chat.

Of course, no palatial chamber is complete without stately furnishings to match. For the Visari Throne Room, we’ve created five pieces of furniture based on actual palace furnishings from Killzone 2: two types of Visari-style chairs, an administrative desk, a plant container with authentic Helghan vegetation, and a freestanding painting which portrays an important moment in the colonial history of the Helghast. In Killzone 2 these were mostly used by Radec’s elite guard to barricade the palace hallways, but don’t let that stop you from arranging them however you like.

The Visari Throne Room and matching furniture are scheduled for release in the second half of June, with pricing TBD. Be sure to visit soon for a closer look at the new PlayStation Home content, including additional images of the throne room!

OMG I WANT THIS! Thank guys!

ReNeGADe1991 05 June, 2009 @ 16:46

Also please make it free, the Us got a Cool free space :)

What about game launching or mini-games? Anything planned on those?

Looks nice, just wish there was more. Would have been good if the whole experience was more intergrated into Home.

Victor Zuylen 05 June, 2009 @ 17:00

Not to worry, we still have more Home content planned for the future!

elephant_stone 05 June, 2009 @ 16:48

loonytoon1982 05 June, 2009 @ 16:50

Can’t I just have it now? ;)

thank you very much for this space killzone is the best, anyway of having like a trophy cabinet or something to show our trophy’s off for what we’ve achieved in this game

Will game launching be supported in the space?

RagingAvatar 05 June, 2009 @ 16:59

I have no inkling to pay for this kind of content..
A Home room?! So.. basically.. 3D wallpaper.

Americans are getting free content all the time (Rag Doll Kung Fu? Home rooms?) – there’s no way I’m paying for this.

wardragon989 05 June, 2009 @ 17:00

That’s freaking cool, thanks =)

Surprising if that Helghan plant is going to the store it might be the first thing i buy off of HOME =P As it look really good.

Thanks for talking with us =)

Stinkinmushroom 05 June, 2009 @ 17:00

Very cool => But is there any plans for Killzone costumes? I don’t really get why there aren’t many costumes? It’s easier to make than spaces no? In E3 2007 we saw a ratchet costume on Phil Harisson, but we never see these kind of costumes (except for the Watchmen,SFIV), all we see are basic t-shirts with a drawing on it (Patapon, Locoroco,…). Real costumes will sell more than t-shirts with drawings on it!

Great work :)

Looks great!

Game launching for killzone 2 please?! :)

xKillerMonkeyx 05 June, 2009 @ 17:06

Woooooooooooooo this is so cool, just keep the items at a reasonable price if the space is going to be like 5€. :-) Please i mean.

Will this also be available in the US or is it just for Eu?

Victor Zuylen 05 June, 2009 @ 17:10

It will be available in the EU as well as the US. The release dates may differ slightly.

Cool. :)

Home is improving all the time.

Thanks for the response Victor. I’ll be looking forward to this new space.

Haha looks immense. Wouldn’t mind having a mini Sev on my table sometime in the future :)

Alex_Assassin_08 05 June, 2009 @ 17:25

An apartment? On sale? My goodness, my excitement only lasted few seconds! I would have expected that the long-teased KZ2 Home-related announcement would have been the eventual revelation of a public Killzone2 themed space with game-launching support.

and NOT in Germany :(
Thank you USK!

I will/would support this HOME content more, when more content/features are available.
Thanks for the info and i WILL buy this apartment but ONLY when Frames and TVs are available (in my area) so people can media share and make their own apartments feel more HOMEy, I’m still waiting to put a pic of my family on my wall, lol.
Once these features are included, i will buy this.

I guess i wont be released in germany , will it ?

Nice apartment. I love the design…

TheNarrator 05 June, 2009 @ 17:44

that looks so cool, cant wait to get my hands on some of those items, the Helghans had it so rough… so me taking over their land will make it all the worse for them :D

does this mean game launching will be coming too?

It’s a real pleasure to see Home getting more and more support and when it’s of this calibre it makes me proud to be a regular user of the social network app fondly called Home. I’m all for new apartments but I’m more enjoying the interactive side of Home such as the recently released ‘Resistance 2’ space with the Four Barrels of Fury game. It adds another layer to Home when you’re all able to compete on the leaderboards for the prestigious first place and great sharing tips with one another.

Are you hoping or planning to create a public space for the fabulous Killzone 2 anytime soon? I can imagine it being a great success an the mini-game ideas that could be associated with it are plentiful. I can’t remember whether the title supports game-launching but if it doesn’t, is this also something you’re looking into?

Either way, top stuff and if you ever want a hand in being destroyed online, you now know my PSN handle! :D

awesome stuff. I want this free, I don’t pay for it.

Nice work! But try to make it not too damn overpriced…

chrishjericho 05 June, 2009 @ 18:13

Nice to know you supporting home.

yeah it is good to know you are supporting home, but what I and everyone would like to see is game-launching and a game space are there any plans for this?

Thanks for this info and pictures on the visari throne appartment on home victor, it looks great, also hope to be seeing more of this type of thing on home soon, keep up the good work

game launching?

showmeyourpuppiz 05 June, 2009 @ 19:23

Just gotta say – we love the updates for the game so far

FrankieZappa 05 June, 2009 @ 19:26

Hmm…this is for free, right?

RagingWhisky 05 June, 2009 @ 19:34

Unless in this space I can try out new and beautiful hardware of death in a fake firing range…whereby we can take potshots of other sony merchandise characters and view them in all ragdoll goodness flailing and bleeding out (I’m looking at YOU uncharted) then I think you need to revise your Home content ;)

This apartment looks awesome, I know I’ll be getting it. Will there be a “Killzone 2” game space as well down the road?

Looking forward to when you guys release a space in home :) this content is cool too though :D

Hello Victor,
I am very happy to see Guerilla Games, and the Killzone team, are giving Playstation Home some love. The apartment looks fantastic and I will definitely be purchasing it upon its arrival in the shopping centre. The custom furniture looks very cool, but there doesn’t seem to be much there. Only 5 killzone 2 items to kit out the apartment. I think you should make much more like all the new furniture which was released alonside the *free* apartment in the US Home. Is there the possibility of more killzone 2 content making it to Home at a later dat?

– Matt –

That’s supposed to say *date?* at the end of my previous post, sorry for the typo. I might as well ask a question I have been wanting to ask for a long time now. I know this is’nt directly linked to you, but as your working with the Home team I thought maybe you could give me some information.

A while ago a Otorstorm themed apartment was announced for home, but I have heard nothing of it since. Are you able to fish out some details regarding this query.

Here is a direct link to an image which displays the afore mentioned apartment.

– Matt –

Sweet I’m looking forward to this

Angry-Irishman 05 June, 2009 @ 20:32

looks cool, killzone 2 space would also be cool with game launching.

Akira_Tenshi 05 June, 2009 @ 20:32

ooooh! Very nice. I bet it will be expensive though.

Why isnt this on the US Forums yet?? lol

SniperChris 05 June, 2009 @ 20:37

This is a must buy!

TheChoubidoudou 05 June, 2009 @ 20:53

Very Nice!

TheChoubidoudou 05 June, 2009 @ 20:54

This is a sweet apartment.

lol, this is seriously awesome.

digitalpowershot 05 June, 2009 @ 21:13

Make it free!

can you put your own photos in the picture frame??

Victor Zuylen 06 June, 2009 @ 01:22

No, it’s not actually a picture frame but a freestanding painting of a group of heroic Helghan defenders. There’s quite a bit of history behind that painting… More will be explained on
