PlayStation Store Update – 9th July 2009

I know for many of you this week couldn’t come soon enough (myself included), as this week sees the release of the brilliant Battlefield 1943. For those of you who enjoy a good session of online multiplayer shooter action, this is a great new addition to the genre, and set against such beautiful backdrops too.

This week we also have two demos available for you to try, we finally have Ghostbusters on the store (a game which needs no introduction from me), and we also have a demo for the epic racing game Fuel.

The second expansion pack for MotorStorm: Pacific Rift is available this week too, as well some extra content for Skate 2, High Velocity Bowling, Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, and as usual extra tracks for Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band. There are also a handful of additional PSP games available for download now too.

Right, off to the battlefield!

Downloadable Games (Trial and unlock)

Battlefield 1943 (Trial free, unlock key £9.99/€12.99)
You can explore the beautiful pacific islands by land, air and sea as you take the fight to the enemy. Battlefield 1943 features a great mix of both infantry and vehicle combat. You can also call in, and guide airstrikes upon the enemy bases and choose from a range of weaponry to gain the upper hand on the enemy team and win the day.

Still no Fallout 3 DLC :(

Also, could we get the updates earlier in the day? It kills me having to wait all day for awesome games :(

RadioactiveMouse 09 July, 2009 @ 17:07

Yay Battlefield :P

Mike I think you have a week of from the hoards of “where is this” comments ;)

Nice work again, Now off to the Battlefield :D

Good update, downloading the Ghostbusters demo as I type this!

NightHawk767 09 July, 2009 @ 17:07

Great update

Locke_Tribal 09 July, 2009 @ 17:08

Wow, good update this week!

Great to see more PSP games up too (except for Little Britain that is).

Is CM2006 really only €4.99?

andypritchard 09 July, 2009 @ 17:08

dont no if u can help but think you should look at this
also is the gran tourismo series coming to the store?

Will give Battlefield 1943 a try, loved the others, good price too.

Waiting for the Fallout DLC, otherwise is there any chance we may get the Disgaea 3 DLC any time soon? or at all?

Stud_Kick_Ass 09 July, 2009 @ 17:09

Mike, can you PLEASE let us know when we’re getting Metal Gear Solid?

andypritchard 09 July, 2009 @ 17:09

any news on bomberman?

Better than the last couple of weeks for sure, still not great though >_>

This is an amazing update! btw where’s metal gear solid?

And can someone comment on the lag on Bf1943 servers?

Nice update, will be getting BF and Fuel demo as soon as I can :D

Sir Kebby of Awesomton…

Whatever happened to OPM HD? There was a website where you get notified about it’s release, and possibly win a free copy of Kilzone 2.

And what about Spyro. I know you must get sick of me asking but it’s the game that got me started on PS1, would be great to have it with me on my PSP. I used to kick names and take ass with that game

OK, I’ll stop with the obscure Unforgotten Realms quotes :p

Still no Fat Princess… any news on that, by the way? It was supposed to be released last month.

I was really looking forward to Battlefield 1943 but my PS3 just YLOD.

Very sad now.

Oh awesome! Now I’m gonna download Metal Gear Solid and then I’m gonna play all weekend and… no wait, it’s still not there.

Crap PSN update.

Woo, Battlefield 1943 is cheaper than I thought. Since it’s $15, I figured it’d be €15, as often happens. Woo!

And two demos too. Don’t let anyone say this week’s a bad update, Mike! :)

Ha, some people already have – never mind can’t please everyone :)

Not bad, Downloading the battlefield trial now.

demos are a bit old.

rossthebassist 09 July, 2009 @ 17:13

i give this an good update status myself. well done sony.

its not the greatest of updates. no classics and pretty much we all knew what today would include. but hey thats still better than allot we get.

@ mike, any update on MGS sorry to soudn like a broken record but ill probably keep asking untill its out :P

I will surely be trying Battlefield later tonight, but more importantly where is Bomberman Ultra? It’s been out on the US Store for nearly a month now!

Jack-Bauer-89 09 July, 2009 @ 17:13

Forgot it was update day.

Thanks :)

Still no Resident Evil………… god dammit.

almighty-slayer 09 July, 2009 @ 17:15

Just Battlefield for me then

That’ll keep you busy for a long time anyway ;)

THIS!!!!! is more like it SCEE.

Mike mate, im the first to complain if a store update is whack but this week its alot better hence the demos. The stella games!

But when SCEE releases a half hearted store update like the last 4 weeks its no surprise loads of followers will complain right?

PSN Store update 8.5/10

I love you again sony

lardteamaker 09 July, 2009 @ 17:16

I’d love to download the new Motorstorm pack, but my store hasn’t updated. :(

I bought some “Quantum of Solace” maps a long time a go (for £4) and I have never been able to play them and they have dissapeared from the playstation store. Any Ideas?

Still no sign of Bomberman, MGS1, EU video store.

What the hell is going on?

EU video store was announced at E3 ’08, and yet here we are over a year later and still no sign of it.

Are Sony EU hoping we forget and as a result not bother releasing it?

As for Bomberman and MGS1, titles that have been around for a while now, and yet today sees the simultaneous release of Battlefield on the US and EU stores.
So, simultaneous releases only slide for some games and not others?

Give me a break Sony EU and start treating your European consumers with some respect please.

NightHawk767 09 July, 2009 @ 17:16

…uhm, could it be that the Belgian psn store still isn’t updated cause I don’t see any of this.

TheSabreman 09 July, 2009 @ 17:16

Good update thanks !

With Trine, Fat Princess and my personal fav Gravity Crash to come in the future, hopefully the store can deliver one great game a month (plus a few demo’s !).

Not the best update but it’s better than nothing :)

wardragon989 09 July, 2009 @ 17:17

Strange the store hasn’t seemed to have updated yet, DW6:E did though =/ strange

when’s it going up?
newest stuff on the store i see is last week’s.

Oh, and If you could purswade EA to release 007 Racing on the store, I would be a happy man, and their other bond psone titles.

JesteR17011 09 July, 2009 @ 17:19

Store isnt updated yet…. but nice. Battlefield and Motorstorm :). I just wish the store would have those good updates every week.

Stud_Kick_Ass 09 July, 2009 @ 17:19

Hey Mike, I’m appreciative of what we’ve got but you said that you would find out when we’re getting Metal Gear Solid. Did you find out the release date for the EU/AU regions?

Not yet :( Believe me I keep asking, I’m driving myself crazy by repeating the question but I’ll keep asking until I get answers for you.

lardteamaker 09 July, 2009 @ 17:19

aha! now it is. sweet!

andypritchard 09 July, 2009 @ 17:19
