New LittleBigPlanet 2 Featurette – The Controlinator!

Hey Sack-watchers! It’s time for the latest LittleBigPlanet 2 Featurette Trailer – this time we’re focusing on the ingenious technological might of the Controlinator!

This unassuming looking little device is probably the single most powerful tool in the LittleBigPlanet 2 creative arsenal, because it unlocks the possibilities of “direct control”. This means that rather than controlling Sackboy alone, it is now possible to directly control all kinds of vehicles and contraptions. Whether it’s a racing buggy or a flying bumblebee with built-in honey-powered artillery, you can tweak every aspect – from the controls used to operate it, to the ways that gravity and inertia affect its movement.

Now, you might think that tweaking inertia values isn’t for you (although believe me, it’s far more fun and approachable than it sounds!) – but even if you don’t feel like putting on your creative hat and harnessing the possibilities of the Controlinator yourself, you’re going to find plenty of levels created by other users that utilise it in fascinating ways – top-down racers, side-scrolling shooters, rhythm action multiplayer face-offs, and much more besides… It’s thanks to the Controlinator that we can truly say that in LittleBigPlanet 2, it’s not just about platform gaming anymore!

Check out the trailer for a peak at the possibilities…

Looks amazing! Any news on why the collector edition seems to be more expensive than the standard edition, your previous post stated they would cost the same.

This is the thing that can control anything and everything :) can it wire up to anything or just electronics ?

Why are these posted on the US blog first? You are an EU development studio. Show us some more love! ;)

Hello, Alex!
I have one question.. (again. if it’s ok)

Will there be the 3D tool in LittleBigPlanet 2?

Also, Nice videos! Keep up the good work! :)

This is the tool that gets rid of 70% of the problems with LBP, bear in mind though that that 70% of problems accounted for 1% of the game :D.

wax sack and crack

The signature piece and the end of these promo videos, where you see the stack of TVs and the dramatic soundtrack kicks in, always reminds of The Matrix. :D

awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D .:D .:D .:D .

looking good

HaHa i’m soo looking forward to listning too all the tutorials with the logic switches and other things. I CANNOT WAIT.

this will enable so many things… lbp was a step to creativity, this is a leap

Given the possibility and amount of levels created in the first LBP I reckon LBP2 is easily gonna be even better value.

Also. I still would like Doctor Who themed costumes please. Quality british game and quality british tv show. Could probably make a better Doctor Who game on LBP than the crap ones the Nintendo consoles just got.

Looks amazing!!!!

Will the giant PS-Controller on the chip be present in the actual game? Because if so that’s awesome. =D

Sorry for the double post, I don’t buy the constumes but I would totally buy the Dr Who theme, David Tennant please =D My sackboy needs that crazy quiff xD

Best Feature included in LBP2?
