PlayStation Home: Relive Old Favourites In The PSN Sphere!

December is a great month for events, and so it is that this week we announce the launch of the PSN Sphere public space. The brand new PSN Sphere will showcase the top PlayStation Network titles and act as a hub for accessing the uniquely themed event spaces devoted to each title. At launch, the Sphere will host three classic and much-loved event spaces: Fat Princess, Hustle Kings and Gravity Crash. In addition, those who love puzzles should try out the maze mini game, in which you’ll use the SIXAXIS controller to navigate a glass ball towards a portal against the clock. There’s a reward on offer for each area navigated … if you’re fast enough! The Sphere will be worth revisiting over time, as it grows with information about upcoming titles as well as themed areas for the best titles; the first of which is due soon, and is sure to send a shiver down your spine!

Christmas: a time for good food, good times … and good sledging! The good people at Audi have taken their long-held interest in all things winter sports related to another level with the design of their technically peerless Audi S1 Sledge concept. Now this isn’t your run-of-the-mill toboggan. Nor is it available in the shops any time soon. But through the magic of PlayStation Home you can now give this sledge-to-end-all-sledges a run down the piste. Have you ever noticed those glorious snow-covered peaks in the distance from the Audi Home Terminal? The Audi S1 Sledge game takes you there to the Audi Alpine Lodge to test your sledge skills. For those that are successful there are a range of fantastic rewards to be won. Oh, and who said the yeti doesn’t exist…. Happy sledging! While you’re visiting Audi, don’t forget to get your votes in for the questions that will be submitted to Audi for a Q&A soon. Voting ends December 20th!

Enjoy a good murder mystery? Head for the GAME space this week, where you’ll find a selection of items from Relentless’ Blue Toad Murder Files! In the Billabong store there’s another new release, featuring ladies tight jeans and vests for the guys as the highlights. The MyDeco store has taken delivery of new stock, including lamp, seat and festive tree. Finally, Codeglue’s Cardboard Cartel store updates with a special Santa costume (he’s on a reindeer!) alongside a range of new dresses sure to set new ladies fashion trends in Home this winter.

i’m i right in saying this will be the last update till next month?

cheers n happy xmas all

We’ll have another update next week, however I’m expecting it to be a smaller update as we’re now running with half a team.

Great Update, lots to do

Looks great – love the sphere :)

Very good update, interested to see what this Santa looks like.

Santa … on a reindeer … that kinda looks like a raptor dinosaur … except it’s a reindeer. My head hurts.

Looks like more work Thy^^

Will the events spaces in the PSN Sphere contain the same rewards, new rewards, or both?

I believe the Event spaces are identical spaces to those that were run previously.

Cardboard Cartel: There’s 3 dresses total, plus a woman’s suit, the Tux and the Santa-on-a-reindeer costume.

Also: there’s additional festive season items available in the stores tomorrow that are not mentioned in the blog.

I love that these spaces are picking up… I’ve been hoping we’d begin getting better ‘hubs’ for locations and special events etc.. I’d love for home to be more useful for this kind of thing..

Any idea when the trophy rooms are happening so I can show off the shiney? (or has it happened and i’ve missed it and a terrible home user)

The PSN Sphere has been specifically designed as a hub for accessing PSN related content in Home, so look for it to be updated on a regular basis.

Trophy Room: I’m afraid there’s no news that we can share at the current time.

cool thanks

one last question will the GT5 comp be next week then?

Hopefully, yes!

I’d also like to clarify, will the events spaces be taking permanent residence in the PSN sphere?

Hello there Alex, I have a few questions;

Are we getting the Loot yacht? that were released last week in the US.

Are there any plans to update the Bowling Alley?

Lastly when’s the latest batch of nDreams content coming?

Thanks and merry Christmas to you and all the team.

#Sodium Birthday Celebrations start on Thursday Will you be there on #Playstation Home?

Very good update, i’ll be looking forward to playing some of the mini games that i’ve not played before.

How about a FF7 space? lol

thy running out of ideas then recycle old events in a New space lol poor cash-cow must have a poor Xmas any news on picture frames, video/music streaming even the Music thu XMB.

or are we still in limbo about what to do your lawyers are not up to scratch they not with the times it be matter of time SCEA will enter the next phase of home.

& what with the patch what did it do it was push on Ps3 though auto download

How many people are allowed in a personal space? Can anyone answer this. I’m trying to organise a club picture. Thanks in advance anyone!

12 in a personal space, 32 in a clubhouse.

Any news on the Waterfall tree trunk cabin. It really would make a cool clubhouse. The flower dress looks cool. Id love to see a tee shirt for the guys in that vein. Looking forward to the update(ps thx for the patch. Home is running like a dream now)

Change the record will you, it’s getting a bit samey you using the term cash cow all the time.

If you don’t like Home then stay away. You’ve made your point about it (numerous times) there’s no need to call it a cash cow every time there’s a Home related blog post.

Is there going to be Home content for these games?:

ICO/Shadow of the Colossus Collection and The Last Guardian
flOw, Flower and Journey
DC Universe Online
Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine
Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People
Back to the Future (telltale)
Sam & Max: The Devil’s Playhouse

Quick update: Audi are also showing a new Worthersee car this week (Hotrod), and once again there will be a free reward associated.

Finally a tux! But a nice suit would be awesome..

You know the question marks in the PlayStation Network sphere? Well, there’s a red question mark with red footprints on the floor, what’s that all about? Is it gonna be a rare space or something? I’m just wondering.
