‘Heads-Up’ PlayStation Store Update 11th January 2012

Amy for PS3 (PSN)

PlayStation Store (via PS3, PSP and Media Go)

Greetings! Another week brings another content update to the PlayStationStore!

To start with, we have AMY from Lexis Numerique – a survival horror game not for the faint of heart.

If you’re too frightened then there’s Zack Zero, a 3D platform action title from Crocodile.

Demo wise we have Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Asura’s Wrath to play around with – two games I am greatly looking forward to!

This week also brings more content for titles ranging from Battlefield 3 (pew pew pew!) to EyePet (pet pet pet?)

Finally, at the bottom of this post you will find answers to some of the most frequent questions in the comments from last week’s post. We’re taking this approach because, while we would love to answer everyone and everything instantly, sometimes giving an accurate answer requires further research, legal clearance or approval from one of our third-party partners. We will still get involved in the comments and endeavour to respond as much as we can; if you’re query isn’t answered right away then rest assured that we do read them and hopefully it will be addressed in the following week’s FAQ.

PlayStation Plus Discount

For PLUS this week we have a 20% discount on Darksiders. Additionally, PS Plus members also save extra on some of the special offers we’ll be announcing here later today.

Q. “I bought the Fortune Hunter’s Club membership, and I thankfully received three skin packs along with bonus Killzone merchandise. One problem I have though is that you cannot see the Doughnut Lazarevic skin once you buy it. I found it by ‘searching’ the store, but others might not think of that. Could you ask the store people to fix this little problem?”
A. This has now been fixed. Do let us know of other issues and we will try and work on solutions as quick as possible.

Q. Magic: The Gathering – Issue with DLC packs
A. This issue is being looked into and a solution is currently being worked on. We have been told this should be coming very soon. Fingers crossed!

Q. When will the MGS and UMvC3 avatars come out?
A. MGS avatars are currently being submitted so we should hopefully see these shortly. As for UMvC there are prolonging issues with these and are still being investigated.

Q. minis Pick and Mix issue.
A. If you are unable to download your Minimix bundle to your PSP, please contact PlayStation Support.

Did you enjoy this?

I have contacted customer services by both phone and email and still have not recieved a Jurassic park code.

    Andy Stewart 11 January, 2012 @ 1:31 pm

What did customer services say when you contacted them? I will have a chat with them about this.

I have a question: When will Sony be able to release free 16+ rated content in Germany? It’s absolutely a lie when you say that you’re legally not allowed to – you are, you just have to jump trough hoops. And you’d only have to jump through that hoop once! Germany is one of the biggest gaming markets in Europe and we’re still getting treated like second-class gamers. Yes, we know it’s a pain that our government doesn’t make it as easy for you as it is in other countries but Microsoft managed to find a way around that, and other companies have found a way too. And that’s not only because they’re American companies operating from America. I’m worried because we’re more and more moving towards digital distribution and it seems like Sony is not the horse to bet on when it comes to DD. So please tell me if there’s actually anyone working on resolving that issue?

RedeyedRonin 11 January, 2012 @ 1:08 pm   3

what about the download list bug?

    Andy Stewart 11 January, 2012 @ 1:33 pm

I am still waiting to hear about the reason/solution for this, as far I can tell all that has happened as it has flipped the order from the newest downloads being at the top to now being at the bottom.

Murderdoll 11 January, 2012 @ 1:09 pm   4

Final Fantasy demo 🙂 but 🙁 need to wait until.tomorrow when im back home.

This is a really good update! 😉
When we’ll get Trine 2?

Is there Move-capabilities in the demo of grand slam tennis 2?

Is there going to be another PSP sale sometime soon.

    Andy Stewart 11 January, 2012 @ 1:39 pm

Yes there will be another PSP Power sale soon, don’t have the exact dates yet but should be within the next couple of months.

Is there anyone that hates PSP more than SCEE?

Hi Andy How are you is there any news yet on Jurassic Park for psn in Australia and why is it takeing so long please help Thanks

    Andy Stewart 11 January, 2012 @ 1:40 pm

Sadly no news yet, I am not 100% sure what the hold up is, I will try and find out from the publisher.

Falcon1991 11 January, 2012 @ 1:11 pm   10

Oh sweet! A demo for FFXIII-2 and Asura’s Wrath! 😀

Also good to hear that the MGS avatars are coming eventually. Also great to see a ton of avatars today. 🙂

Lastly it is always nice to see another Access TV.

blueyoshi5 11 January, 2012 @ 1:11 pm   11

hay Andy… any update from capcom about the resident evil avatars, you know the ones from september:)

Saints Row 3 Avatars and Amy for 🙂 Nice Update this Week

Darkliquid 11 January, 2012 @ 1:12 pm   13

Cant wait to get my hands on AMY . . . . . No, wait, er . . . . That’s not what I meant !

On a more serious note I really am looking forward to playing it. Looks brilliant. I noticed the Americans have to wait an extra week for it because they wanted it cheaper to lol.

Muttykins 11 January, 2012 @ 1:13 pm   14

Is there any news on why arc the lad wasn’t put up on the store last week ?

JonnWithTwoNs 11 January, 2012 @ 1:13 pm   15

Uhh, no Rock Band songs this week? Que?

That’s a lot of avatars! :O

Noiceee.. will be pickin’ up some of them Disney Avatars. Amy looks fantastic too. xD

well if you liked FF13 then you won;t be disappointed as its more of the same except you get a little moggle to follow you around – if you hated FF13 like me then you won’t like FF13-2 either – i really wish Square would remember what it takes to make good games – unfortunately that was Squaresoft that made great memorable games and Square – Enix just puts out visually stunning but vacuous games

really hoping we get the NIS sale like the US had awhile ago also maybe putting the Disagea3 stuff on sale – especially as the cost for all it around £35 is a bit much

Jesse-Blue 11 January, 2012 @ 1:13 pm   19

Still no TRINE 2 for PS3 in the EU?
360 got it since 21. December worldwide! US PSN since 20. December.
Eurogamer revealed recently that the reason is the game failed Sony CE Europe QA.
Frozenbyte commented saying they don’t understand why, as the game is 100% identical to the US version (even languages).

So – again – as with Mortal Kombat Arcade and many, many other titles before, a delay of several weeks is due to Sony QA…

Now I am not one who usually complains a lot here, but…

EternalChaos72 11 January, 2012 @ 1:14 pm   20

As for UMvC there are prolonging issues with these and are still being investigated.

so how long are we expected to wait? ive been dying for these 4 ages..

    Andy Stewart 11 January, 2012 @ 1:43 pm

Sadly I don’t know as this is in the publishers court, however from the discussion I have been hearing I am not hopeful.

Hey Andy 😀

No demo for Amy? thats disappointing to say the least any plans for one?

Also a little request could you have a talk with Square again about releasing Kingdom Hearts BBS on the store? with the Vita out soon that’s one game i’d like to put onto it

Thanks 🙂

This may not be the best place to ask this but I can’t think of any other place to do so : when are we going to see playstation content on the Xperia devices (especially the Xperia Play)?

What about Rock Band DLC? We’re waiting for 2112 from NYE and the new Hall & Oates tracks, no sign of them yet? Or were they just forgotten in this page?

And I know it’s not the right place to ask but as it’s STILL not been addressed, what’s happening with Arc The Lad? Come on guys, get your acts together.

CookieMonsterES 11 January, 2012 @ 1:15 pm   24

Good update and great idea the new FAQ is. As always, excellent job, Andy.

chrisredfield_97 11 January, 2012 @ 1:15 pm   25

MaikelSteneker 11 January, 2012 @ 1:15 pm   26

I like how Sega prices their PSN games recently. These prices are lower than most retail prices. While I could get them cheaper, buying them via PSN becomes really tempting this way.

Where is Arc the Lad for Plus members? It still wasn’t up last time I checked.

Any news when the first Uncharted 3 DLC is going to appear?

    Andy Stewart 11 January, 2012 @ 1:47 pm

I will be investigating the Arc the Lad situation and will try to update you all in next weeks FAQ as I don’t have the answers to hand right now. However what I do know as soon as it is available it will be free for PLUS members for a whole month.

As for the UC3 DLC, i am waiting for the confirmed release date.

lonewolf23786 11 January, 2012 @ 1:16 pm   28

when will you release the SNK games that were released on Xbox Live over to PSN?

Also when will King of Fighters 96 coming out here? It’s already released in US PSN Store.

    Andy Stewart 11 January, 2012 @ 1:50 pm

SNK Games – That decision will have to come from SNK if they wish to release them on our console, so you will need to approach them for this, sorry.

King of Fighters 96 – I have no news on this yet but I will do some digging around and try and find out for you.

Ooh, Darksiders under £10 with Plus – rented that for a week not long after it came out but never completed it – may be time to correct that.

Also, nice idea with the FAQ.

Disgaea 4
Adell (£2.39/€2.99)
Laharl Kaiser V (£1.59/€1.99)
Rozalin (£2.39/€2.99)

Rating: PEGI 12
Availability: Not available in Belgium, Netherlands

why am i not suprised morons at Nis america.

have you contacted NIS america yet for those disgaea and hyperdimension neptuna avatars?
cause a few update´s back you said you diden´t get a reply,
Funny thing is NIS america said you guys never contacted em and if you actually would they would have hurried it´s release.

and why don´t you ever add a japanese import game on the list unlike SCEA.

o ya and secondly the NIS america DLC that hasen´t been added 2 the netherlands yet they say it has 2 be writen in dutch according 2 SCEE rules. is this true and if so it´s retarded cause the full games in english just release DLC and forget about the stupid description in original language.

    Andy Stewart 11 January, 2012 @ 1:58 pm

So by your comment I assume that I will be hearing back from NIS shortly, which is very good to hear, good work sir!

As for Japanese imports on the list, do you mean why we don’t split out the PSOne stand games to Imports? It’s just historically we have not but I will look into this as it is a nice idea, if we get anough content to support doing it that is.

As for the SCEE Rules, sadly rules are rules and have been implemented for a reason and I believe this is a legal reason so this will not change anytime soon, sorry. However I will send on your comments and see what the feedback is.

Ryandsimmons 11 January, 2012 @ 1:17 pm   31

Q. minis Pick and Mix issue.
A. If you are unable to download your Minimix bundle to your PSP, please contact PlayStation Support.

3 phone calles (totalling 47 minutes) and 5 emails and Support still have no idea how to fix this and cannot advise on how or when it will be solved.

And Arc the Lad is still not up from last week.

blendercat27 11 January, 2012 @ 1:17 pm   32

Sweet. Nice update. I’m pretty keen to check out Amy, and I’m tempted to try the Final Fantasy XIII-2 demo. I have the crystal edition (ebgames exclusive) pre-ordered and I can’t wait to get my hands on it on Feb 2.

Might try Darksiders, but 10gb download… Ouch! I might wait until next week when my usage resets for that one.

Keep up the great work guys. ^__^

When will the Andy Stewart and Ross McGrath avatars be released? 😉

    Andy Stewart 11 January, 2012 @ 2:00 pm

You want my face as an avatar?!?! Are you crazy!!! My face as an avatar would probably make your TV screen explode in sheer horror 😀

@Benji_en – didn’t the English version of Arc the Lad come out last week, free for Plus subscribers?

GaiaScythe 11 January, 2012 @ 1:17 pm   35

This seems to be the end of the psp-era …

Is there maybe the last Dissidia012 DLC for Gilgamesh,
or a original Verison of Final Fantasy 10 coming for it.
The Remake is only for PS3 and Vita..
It´s sad no one cares about the PSP anymore ….

    Andy Stewart 11 January, 2012 @ 2:03 pm

I care about PSP, hence why I am sorting out the PSP Power Sale #2. However I do understand your pain.

EternalChaos72 11 January, 2012 @ 1:17 pm   36

LOADS of avatars which i love but not the ones im lookin for.

nicolajNN 11 January, 2012 @ 1:18 pm   37

Hi Andy

Do you know if NFL Blitz will come to Europe?

    Andy Stewart 11 January, 2012 @ 2:04 pm

As far as I am aware there are no plans to release NFL Blitz in the EU. However if there is enough interest I will approach the publishers about it and see if we can get it.

Chocobo115 11 January, 2012 @ 1:18 pm   38

The Disgae characters I was waiting for! You’re awesome Andy 😀

I don’t want to sound rude but is there a chance of Sam & Max Season 2 to go on a sale soon? I really want to play the episodes but I can’t justify the current price at the moment :/

    Andy Stewart 11 January, 2012 @ 2:06 pm

Funny you say that… All I can say now is watch this space and maybe you will see something before the end of January. Sadly no promises however.

AvenGer20 11 January, 2012 @ 1:19 pm   39

Im gonna test those demos, even tho I already pre orderd FFXIII-2. I wonder if Asura’s Wrath is good.

Will there be KOFXIII avaters? if you dont know, you dont have to answer.

    Andy Stewart 11 January, 2012 @ 2:08 pm

Asura’s Wrath is amazing! Well I say its amazing I should really say that is it CRAZY!! but good.

BloodMountain88 11 January, 2012 @ 1:19 pm   40

Is there any news on the Renegade Ops DLC that those of us that preordered/purchased the game as part of the PSN Play promotion were told we would receive for free? It was advertised that we would receive a free pack for two new characters & vehicles, but we still haven’t received this.

lardteamaker 11 January, 2012 @ 1:19 pm   41

Friend I was speaking to last night was on about a ps1 game called Project Eden. Any chance it’ll head to the store at all? Still no Trine 2 or the latest Zen pinball table. 🙁

Opt1mus76 11 January, 2012 @ 1:19 pm   42

Hi Andy
Good to see FAQ section added.
Any word on Renegade Ops dlc codes for those that pre-ordered through Play promo?

Nice demos this week!

Why is it that Deck Pack 3 for Magic 2012 is released when the first two still haven’t been?

It has been a month now since the original mix up yet they still haven’t been released. The US now has all the deck packs and all are working fine…it has gotten beyond a joke now, and I have lost all interest in supporting Wizards/Stainless and Sony by giving them my cash. There is a rumour going round that Magic 2013 is to be released in June…I highly doubt I will be picking that up anymore.
