PlayStation Store Update: PS Vita Launch Edition

Tomorrow, PlayStation Vita launches across the PAL regions and here is the full list of what will be available to download when PlayStation Store is live on the system later this evening. We believe that the PS Vita launch line-up is the strongest in PlayStation history and this list of games and other content, some of which is completely free, is testament to that.

Don’t forget that if you already own Hustle Kings, Top Darts or Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom DLC on PS3, you can also use it on your PS Vita at no extra charge.

Have a blast and look forward to the PS3 store update coming soon. See you (or the digital formations of you) there.

Any hope that we’ll get comics store back in the near future, and be able to re-download comics that we bought? Vita’s screen would be perfect for comics.

It’s not an endorsement for digital downloads when Sony has a history of pulling the plug on a service, with the result that we can’t use the content we paid good money for!

And I know I can still download the comics with the PC app, but I can’t view them on the PC, so they are useless: I’m selling my PSP Go to fund my Vita purchase. There’s no such problem when buying comics from a store; they work no matter what bookshelf I have :P

Is the store being updated later today so we can download the games when we get the Vita tomorrow morning?

            2.1

Yes, that is correct. The Store will be live by midnight tonight and I’ll let you know as soon as it is.

            Australian prices???

            Awesome!
That 16GB memorycard will be very handy :D

I know what twitter and flickr is, but what is Foursquare?

Why is ModNation dearer than on the USA PS Store?? There it’s the same price as Little Deviants etc, in the LOWEST retail game price point. Here it’s in the medium price point??

Holy bloody! My PS Vita is ready :D
            Can’t wait!!!

@Si_85 I second that. It’s about time we had Australian prices on the blog updates. If anything it’ll emphasise the pricing disparity (and we can then import from the UK anyway).

            9

44.99 for f1 and FIFA you can keep it getting the boxed copies a lot cheaper

Can you use the foursquare app on the wifi only Vita or is it for the 3G version?

My Vita came today from amazon :) Whats the eta on the store going live? Would be good if you could add the size of each game.

We’re working on our workflow for this and we’re aware that it’s going to be important to know how much space PS Vita games are going to take up on your memory card. Expect to see them added to Store updates soon.

#5 Foursquare is location-based social networking (in a nutshell). Read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foursquare_(website)

Jawad: Good update. Very pleased we’re getting demos of everything too! That 16gb memory card will be very useful.

Can we use Media Go to download this stuff onto our PC, and transfer from there, or will I need to download this on my PS3 if I want everything downloaded and ready to go when I pick up my Vita at 4pm tomorrow?

prices are not good whatsoever, there is just no incentive to buy digital! £45 for fifa is ridiculous!

what is the uncharted DLC for 0.79?

Woo! Got my Vita on Saturday finally i can use it for something ;-)

So much for a fair pricing of full digital games. Thank KB for physical media.

Gutted I won’t have Vita for little while (my wallet still bruised from the festive period) but can I download any of this via PS3 until I have Vita? Would like to have MS:RC’s rare rally cars on my download list for when I get Vita in month or so

Will PS3 Store also update today?

            18

Excellent! Definitely getting Motorstorm RC, maybe even Hustle Kings. But what is the DLC for Uncharted? I’ve only got Rayman to play at the moment, but do have Uncharted on order.

            19

Really quite absurd to price digital versions of games higher than physical media versions. Uncharted is £37 on Amazon on LAUNCH DAY. The price will drop soon after and continue until it’s in the bargain bin, at which point the digital price will seem even more farcical.

If you were in any way serious about digital distribution, you’d have taken the giant cut which is normally wasted on distribution, manufacturing, and retail, and sliced it clean off the digital price. That would have made Uncharted somewhere around the £15 mark.

The only platform to have got digital pricing right is iOS, and that’s because it never had to deal with old fashioned discs and cartridges and the parasitic retailers who sell them.

            Nearly time woooooooooooooooooooooo

            21

awesome can,t wait thanks for the heads up

Can u give more details about the uncharted and motor storm dlc? What is it exactly we are getting?

Ps! I thought prices on the store would be more reasonable for games. I’ll be buying boxed games all the way (aside from motor storm and stardust).

Am I missing something or are we also not receiving a 10% discount on digital games like the Americans??

hey, what does the “Uncharted: Golden Abyss (£0.79/€0.99)” DLC refer to!? thanks

            24.1

It’s an in-game map that shows the locations of the hidden treasures to help any Platinum hunters out there.

Satisfied with everything apart from the one game I wanted, FIFA. Very disappointed in the price

            26

What is the DLC for Uncharted: Golden Abyss (£0.79/€0.99) ?

            Also @James

will there be any plus Deals coming up, would like to know before i make a sub for a year, maybe the 15 months deal for 12 ;)

            27

Will Motorstorm RC also be available for PS3 tomorrow ?

            aww yiss! can’t wait!

#16, sure, you can download now and store on the PS3 until you get your Vita. I currently have 7 Vita games on the PS3 waiting for my Vita.

As much as I’m looking forward to getting my Vita… those prices are much more than I was hoping!

“Don’t forget that if you already own Hustle Kings, Top Darts or Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom DLC on PS3, you can also use it on your PS Vita at no extra charge.”

            That’s quite good though.

Any word on when we get our codes for our pre-order discount… and if I’ve selected the Super Stardust one, does that mean the “bundle” version or normal? Or either? ‘Cause I don’t want to be shafted on DLC later, otherwise I’d have picked Escape Plan.

I thought the whole point of having the games on the PSN store was that you could sell them cheaper because its just a download. But when I see Uncharted for £40 on there and look at somewhere like Amazon and its £37 I feel like its Sony doing the same old one step forward two steps back all over again.

also, i agree with what Kotatsu2000 said in post 19. there is a clear difference in cost to companies between packaging and distriubuting physical copies of the games, and making them available digitally. this saving should, in part, be passed on to the loyal customers who continue to buy your games. bit disappointed with the prices tbh, Motorstorm about the only game to get it right.

            33

            £44.99? Really?

            Jesus.

            MaikelSteneker 21 February, 2012 @ 12:19
            34

@16: Motorstorm RC is also a PS3 game, so you should be able to download the DLC for that to your PS3 regardless.

As for other Vita content, I assume you can access everything from the PS3 Store. The whole idea of this early Store update is that you can download everything you want in advance, so you only have to copy it to your Vita as soon as you get it.

@#29 DKShadow, games can be downloaded now on the ps3!?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m looking forward to my vita like i can’t explain, but the Digital prices for games is terrible, what happened to the whole, cheaper digitally to offset the cost of the memory cards?!?!?

            Nope not at all!

Little to no incentive to buy into the digital ecosystem!!!

#35, I had the Vita for review, so I got a bunch of games early. I’m afraid you wont be able to get them officially until midnight tonight :)

So how come in the US they get discounted price if they buy the games from PSN but we are charged RRP? Shame on Sony again for treating EU customers differently

            Motorstorm RC (Psn Only) (£4.79/€5.99)

Evolution said that the PS3 version of this title is a standalone edition, will downloading/buying this copy entitle/download the PS3 copy at the same time?

what about super stardust delta James. Is it cross platform like motorstorm rc?? Playable on ps3?

            James Gallagher 21 February, 2012 @ 13:48
            40.1

No, it’s a different game to Super Stardust HD on PS3.

£44.99 for a portable game in 2012 is a great way for you to ruin this opportunity for success. It simply will not sell at that price.

Sony are in for a big surprise if they believe these prices will help keep this system from going under. I have a Vita on the way and have bought WipEout 2048 in physical form already (£30).

I was encouraged by the statements from various Sony people which were implying they were taking digital downloads more seriously, learning from the mistakes of the PSP and more recently the PSPGo. But little here has changed, other than they have had their first parties create one or two games at a decent price.

So much for cheaper DD games. But only in Europe of course, as usual.

            @29 & 34, Thanks :)

Sorry but those prices are a joke! Digital games should be priced cheaper than retail games, not the same or MORE!! I cant wait to get my Vita but theres no way in hell i will be paying £40+ for games on the store when you can get the physical version for £30-£35. (Those prices are already too steep…)

Please sort the store out, i dont want the Vita going the same way as the GO…

@DKShadow #36 at cool thanks! damn you! i’ve my vita atm an really wanted to play RC! not long to wait i suppose!

i hope that this is just Sony capitalising on the launch day with these prices, as it’ll be physical format for me on most games if this pricing is not reconcidered

What are those DLC Pass unlocks for Motorstorm RC all about?

            Anyone know?

            47

            Look on ZAVVI,
VITA games are some of the cheapest I’ve seen.

That so many people do not understand why digital releases of retail games cannot be much cheaper is a little saddening. The retailers will NOT stock consoles if they are going to be undercut on games.

That there is any discount at all (and there is on most titles) is a first for digital console games.

Though I have to say, Fifa and F1 at £45 is a joke.

Will be purchasing Escape Plan, Motorstorm RC and Super Stardust though without doubt.

lol @ the prices.. dvd.co.uk, zavvi sell the retail copies at much cheaper price.. everyone should boycott the digital download versions..

Also, was that the first confirmation of Plants Vs Zombies and Mutant Blobs Attack for the EU at all? let alone Launch day?

That makes 30 games for launch day if that is the case.

            James Gallagher 21 February, 2012 @ 12:54
            50.1

Yes, but they are ready for launch. I’m working with SOE to try and get a post on PvZ so that you know what you’re getting before you buy.

            51

            Blazblue Continuum Shift Extend
            Shopto.net – £36.85 (Limited Edition) – £25.85 (Standard Edition)

i can understand that retailers will not stock games if they’re to be continuously undercut digitally, but some of the prices are still laughable

i own Plants vs Zombies and Super stardust on PSN so do i get the vita versions free or is it only hustle kings/topdarts and M:RC?
Same with future games too, i have strangers wrath on psn and i know a vita version is coming so will i get the vita version aswell? we really need more clarity on this.

            James Gallagher 21 February, 2012 @ 12:55
            53.1

That currently only applies to Hustle Kings, Motorstorm RC, Top Darts and the Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom DLC.

So I see some third parties didn’t adopt the digital discount… smh.

Anyway, what is the Uncharted DLC for?

Also, any ETA on PS1 Classics compatibility?

I don’t want to repeat what everyone else has said but I will anyway, why are the digital prices so much more than retail!

I mean really FIFA for £45! I know you say it’s set by the publisher but that just doesn’t sit well for me. Amazon for example buy physical copies for lets say £32 and sell it on for £38, they make profit, EA gets their profit from the original sale to Amazon and I get a game.

Whereas your online store which sells a digital license to download and play that game can only offer £45 because EA said so? That’s mad and really needs to be sorted before anyone can take digital distribution seriously.

Even Steam can occasionally offer week one discounts on its selection of PC games and even has regular discounts on older games at prices I find hard to believe publishers would really ever set on their own. As an example Just Cause 2 is currently £4.75, that’s cheaper than Amazon’s current price of £5.99.

Sorry just wanted to get that off my chest. Can’t wait for tomorrow regardless of PSN pricing got my Uncharted for £32 from shopto and will be receiving the Vita from Amazon tomorrow.

            Long live physical games!

            Ridge Racer Gold Pass (£5.49/€6.99)

            Ridge Racer (£16.99/€19.99)

Is this a typo? the gold pass should be included with all the standard copies selled withing the launch window.

            57

so the US get a discount for downloading of the store but we don’t? Good move Sony I will still go with it maybe it will change there is a decent line up fair play for me i think im going with Super stardust delta, ridge racer, katamari, wipeout & maybe rayman

Who has Plants vs Zombies on PS3 will be able to play it on PS Vita with no extra charge? Or will have to buy it again?

That a lot of money to be asking for on Dungeon hunter Alliance, is there any differences from the PS3 version to warrant such a cost?

If not, I think I’ll just stick with the version I already have.

            60

Sony said they’ll make digital copies cheaper. What happened there?

Very disappointed by the digital pricing, I am not buying most full games because of it (I want VITA to be digital only, can’t be bothered with sticks).

            Hi Jawad,

Alot of the prices are very good for a launch day lineup, am very impressed, however, it just seems the store prices have come to late for me to purchase. My order at Amazon has already gone through, so I am unable to cancel and get the games off the store, which is probably what is happeneing with alot of other buyers. For this reason I will not be purchasing full games from the store at the present time, maybe in the future when the 32gb comes out. Anyway, I’m still psyched about the release and cannot wait!!!!!!!!

What happened to the Vita games being cheaper on the store than in the shops? Are Europe getting shafted yet again when were the place that will probably help save the Vita?
Im constantly sick of this, and wont be getting a Vita on launch now.

            What is this:

            Motorstorm RC:
            – Access All Areas Pass (£0.79/€0.99)
            – RC Collection Pass (£0.79/€0.99)
            – Full Game Pass (£1.19/€1.49)

Is the “full” M:RC game basicly a large demo, or is the DLC only to open area/cars that must be unlocked by completing stuff otherwise?

            Hey!!!
Where is the love for + members????

            Is the Vita a phone?

            No.

            cheers for the reply james!

“Don’t forget that if you already own Hustle Kings, Top Darts or Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom DLC on PS3, you can also use it on your PS Vita at no extra charge.”
            That is COOL:P Nice 1;)

FIFA Football Digitally in the US is €30. it is €49 in EU. this is disgraceful to be fair. there goes the “sony are forced to charge higher by developers” arguement out the window. nearly 20€ more expensive for the exact same digital copy of the game

            69

I have chosen the 5€ discount for Super Stardust Delta. Will it apply on the bundle edition too or I’ve just wasted it?

            70

Two things to note on pricing:
            1. Sony has set pricing on all the games in the online store a few days back. Retailers can cut their prices at any given moment. Therefore it’s no surprise that some games are cheaper at retailers – they want you to buy from them so their pricing reacts to Sony’s online pricing, and vice versa.
            2. Third party developers set their own pricing, not Sony.

            71

You’ve still got a long way to go with applications and games. If you want to really hit the competition where it hurts and boost sales then you’ll enable lower prices for the game developers that want to release their games at a lower price. Uncharted: Golden Abyss should be around 35-39 dollars while Gravity Rush should go down to 30 dollars. But that’s just an idea, hopefully we’ll see more app/game/price diversity as time moves along.

            72

obvoiusly great update but i too thought downloads were cheaper than retail and they are not at all, and modnation is so much cheaper in U.S, the U.S get all the good stuff

            @72

Super Stardust Delta addon is $8 or $5 in the US, It’s £2.40 or £1.50 here.

            It swings both ways.

“That so many people do not understand why digital releases of retail games cannot be much cheaper is a little saddening. The retailers will NOT stock consoles if they are going to be undercut on games.”

            Saddening? SADDENING? It’s hardly “saddening”!

Digital copies SHOULD cost less because you don’t get a box, you can’t resell them, there’s no manufacturing or shipping involved… to suggest retailers won’t sell consoles if they’re undercut is nonsense. What about smartphones? For the time being there’s still a market for boxed games as not everyone has Internet connections, not everyone can afford memory sticks to store loads of games, lots of people want to buy and sell used games, etc etc etc… digital copies should, really, be AT LEAST a fiver less than boxed copies. For the reasons I gave above.

A bit disappointed in the demos, was expecting a few more.
            Like Gravity rush!

            Bring on PS Vita tomorrow!

I like to know that too! Is Motorstorm RC not complete at £4.79? You have to pay for extras?

The only thing missing is Gravity Rush demo..which is turning into a complete mystery..why we haven’t been given at least a release date is beyond me..Its obvious your staggering releases but to be told it was a launch title and then everything goes silent isn’t great.

I’m working hard to get that release date confirmed for you – won’t be too long.

So glad I have booked tomorrow off work, looks like it’s going to be a busy day/night. My postman will be in trouble though if my Vita does not arrive !

Also James, when can we expect out £5 pre-order discount code?
Was hoping to receive it by launch day for Super Stardust Delta.

Pathetic pricing, why does the UK get no discount on downloadable games? The US gets them cheaper than retail. Way to go on getting me to not buy anything from PSN. IDIOTS.

The digital only games (Hustle Kings / Motorstorm RC) look to be great value.

No news on Gravity Rush being a launch game then?

            James Gallagher 21 February, 2012 @ 13:52
            80.1

No, we’ve never stated that Gravity Rush is a European launch title but it is coming over here. I’m working to try and get the release date confirmed soon.

What’s up with the Fifa,F1 2011 and UMVC prices?? 50 euro what have they smoked?

No Frobisher Says? I was really looking forward to that. Hopefully we’ll see it next week.

Now if only we could get the PS3 store updated at midnight each week instead of having it updated anywhere between 2pm & 8pm

Could we have Australian prices too please? I am very excited by the Vita as somebody who owns all the Sony consoles and hand helds. But I want to go digital downloads for it, and I will not be purchasing a Vita until the Australian prices are revealed, and most likely explained for why they are so much higher then the rest of the world.

Is there any reason why you do not show Australian prices you can share? The questions seem to be ignored every time.

Fair point, I’m having a chat with Jawad now and we’ll aim to start including AUD prices in Store updates from now on.

Is there any way you can get an official statement from SOE as to why they’ve decided not to give the European store the discount on Digital titles and what they’re going to do to make it up to us?

I believe a bite sized version of Frobisher Says comes with your preorder pack..others like me (who imported a vita) have to wait till May 2012 for the full game.

Also..i agree…the digital pricing is awful and extremely unfair to your European/Uk customers! No-wonder im sticking with buying boxed versions.

            £44.99 for F1 2011?!

I can’t believe that. Some of the Pricing is good but some of it is just absurd. I’d rather get a boxed Copy of it any day over a Digital Copy for £44.99!

PS Store updated this evening? odd, normally it’s gets updated on Wednesday. =P

            Awesome launch lineup!
BUT: Regarding the demo availability situation in Germany – combined with the more difficult account change on Vita this is really annoying!

Can’t you just post those demos under the PS Plus section in Germany? We’d be happy and you wouldn’t lose sales.

            Can I get something clarified?

WipEout 2048 is listed as ‘Wipeout 2048 + network pass’

but Everybody’s Golf is listed with the game and the network pass listed separately. Does this mean the digital copy of Everybody’s Golf doesn’t include the network pass and you have to download it separately for extra cost? Or does it include the network pass and the separate item is just for pre-owned buyers (not that there will be any yet, obviously)?

            James Gallagher 21 February, 2012 @ 13:56
            91.1

New games, whether download or Game Card, will all include network passes where required.

I would like to know if ‘The Rock'(WWE’12) will be available to purchase on 22nd February when the PS updates in Europe because THQ said it would be available, but I don’t see here on the list. Thank you.

Sorry – not excited by that lineup (or prices!) at all. PS Vita seems to be just another way to play versions of big ps3 first-party titles, whereas great games are still being released on the old PSP like 3rd Birthday, Final Fantasy IV, Lords of Arcana, Tactics Ogre, Dissida, etc, etc for under a tenner.

Prices aren’t too bad bar F1 and Fifa.

Shame PvZ isn’t included in the Pay Once deal.

It disturbs me when DLC is available for games the day they launch.

Will probably get lost in the torrent of abusive messages but any idea when you will release info on possible PS+ discounts for the various vita games?

no surprises for me here apart from super stardust being even cheaper than i thought, by the time we get a £5 discount its going to be £1.49 for one of the highest if not the highest rated psvita launch game :) to people stating there is no discount on games you are infact wrong, there is a discount applied to the rrp of games its just that most stores are selling below rrp and as documented the titles that are discounted are by around 10% while its true you will prob be better off still buying retail you cant say theres no discount, what you can say is theres not much of a discount :)

one question will the discount apply to the base game or can we use it for the bundle instead(stardust)?

shop around you can get f1 2011 for about £25 online, also if your getting your machine from game or gamestation they have a selection of titles you can buy for £25 when you are buying your unit, i know fifa and f1 is in this deal so it might help some get it a bit cheaper

Anybody know if you can buy the vita games from usa store and play them over here ?

Sony if you think iam going to pay for a game that is higher in price than the vita players in the usa you must be having a laugh, Are we not all equal customers ?

            103

My god is it too muc to ask to include file sizes next to the downloads. Space/memory costs a pretty penny as it is so no even knowing basic info like that is a real slap in the face. I see a lot of little dlc ‘extras’ creeping in everywhere too. How money grabbing are Sony and devs getting theese days plus 100 or so comments/questions and 3 replies… Go Sony :-(

Do the download versions of games come with Network Passes? or do they have to be purchased separately?

i.e If I ant to play Everybody’s Golf online do I need to buy Everybody’s Golf for £29.99 AND the Nwetwork pass for £7.99, making £37.98 in total?

            Thanks.

The full games do come with Network Passes and there’s no need to download the separately if you DL for PS Store or buy a new Game Card.

            Great stuff.

But… What I really really wanted was gravity rush (or daze, I just don’t know anymore what it’s called).

            106

Any chance we can see the file sizes for the games? Or is that information going to be on the store itself. I wanna know how full my 16Gb card is going to be after tomorrow =P

            107

            *much *these angry typing!!

            108

well that pay once thing is a load of rubbish then really if it only applys to 3 games on launch day and is not gonna apply to anything else. I was all in favour of supporting the digital purchasing model but to be honest after launch day and gonna just stick to buying physical games as cheap as i can and avoid all this confusion and nonsense rubbishy thing like pay once.

            109

Why do Japan and the US get a discount on the download titles compared to the retail box versions and we dont?

btw will there be new vita content very week like there is atm on ps3 or will it take a little longer to ramp up to that kind of pace?

            James Gallagher 21 February, 2012 @ 14:00
            110.1

Good question – I’m not sure about next week specifically but there are plenty of great new games in the works. Are you saying you’ll have worked your way through this list in a week?! ;)

Will the update be simultaneously for the Vita and PS3 consoles?
i.e. will I be able to download vita games through my PS3 tonight as well?

@74 Of course they SHOULD be cheaper.

However as I said, if you release a console and want retail to stock it you need to give them a reason to do so since margins on hardware are slim. If you then tell them that you’ll be selling the software for 25% less than they can sell it they just won’t stock the console which means it will bomb.

Sony has two choices, stick it to the retailers and release cheaper games digitally and watch retail refuse to stock the hardware as they can’t make any money on it, or just not bother with digital releases of retail games. Which would you prefer?

            Ridge Racer Gold Pass
            Ridge Racer

Do i have to purchase both?

            114

… Why don’t you update the entire store today rather than staggering it?

Damn, this is a really nice list of launch titles! Compare this to 3DS launch titles… If the postal service isnt screwing up, im getting my Vita on the way home from work in a few hours. :)

For the love of god, could you please find a solution to the “not in Germany” problem for demos already? It’s been many years, and five years since support told me they were working on something. Just put them in the PS+ section or something like that. Microsoft doesn’t have a problem with this, they never have, and Sony doesn’t seem to make any progress.

Again: It can’t be that hard to simply put them into the PS+ section to make sure no underage people can access it. You do this with Betas and other Demos already.

@James Gallagher it’s a cool thing that Vita games will be constantly updated with DLCs. I have question on Hustle Kings’
Hustle Kings Snooker Pack (£2.39/€2.99) what kind of snooker it adds ( it would be cool if along with the regular one there is power snooker and short snooker )?
            Time Savers Pack (£1.19/€1.49) What’s that ?? :)
            And one more question:
Little Deviants Trial & Unlock (what does it mean trial and unlock ???)

            118

            James Gallagher,

If I may ask, does the US get motorstorm tomorrow? If not then do you know the release date.

And one more I forgot to add – Can I transfer Media Go bought PSP game that is not in the list of compatible titles(I do not own PS3)?

Dropped the ball here, i thought digital was going to be cheaper than there physical counterparts!

lol not at all but i anticipate the vita being like ps3 where i consume far more psn only titles than i do retail blu ray.

im just hoping that the future holds lots of £10 or under psn titles for us like we have on the ps3(which im sure it does) only so many of the full big budget games are appealing to me due to both cost and desire to play.

as a ps3 owner i dont see the point in me paying more to play something on vita than i can pay on ps3.

for example f1 2011, umvc 3 and rayman although these are stellar launch titles that play fantastic on vita they dont add much to the mix over there ps3 counter parts and as they have been out a while now on ps3 they all can be purchased for around £20 on ps3 so ill stick to my ps3 for stuff like that.

what im after on vita is stuff thats truly different than the ps3 version of said title, that being said not all vita owners will have a ps3 so its totally understandable why these titles exist on vita and going forward if a tit...

what im after on vita is stuff thats truly different than the ps3 version of said title, that being said not all vita owners will have a ps3 so its totally understandable why these titles exist on vita and going forward if a title is released at the same time on vita as ps3 i may opt for the vita version, one example will be street fighter x tekken if both titles have same release date i will opt for vita.

hope this answers that question ;)

Probably not right place to ask this but ….. will my PSP Valkyria Chronicles work on my PS Vita …… please say yes !!!!

            125

WOW, most of those prices are ridiculous & i’m glad i’m sticking with PS3!

WHERE IS THE LOVE FOR + MEMBERS????

When can we expect the Netflix app for Vita in Europe? I have seen that the US will get the app today.

            @s-p3ci4L-K

if i was a gambling man id guess top darts and hustle kings will end up on plus soon enough so that if you have plus and a vita you can download both.

hopefully we will also get a discount on some titles every month also.

AT last I can use the store on my Vita!
Does anybody know if DLC will be region locked? I only ask because I live in Japan but use my UK account… I have the Japanese Golden Abyss but was wondering if the UK DlC would work with it? I’m guessing not if the PS3 is anything to go by.

Still great news, finally everyone can enjoy the Vita :D

Yay! Completed my first Vita game UMVC3 :)

Disappointed with the prices for Uncharted and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 wish I was an American now we are ripped off so much

            Curio

I do like how James is only replying to the positive comments, whilst ignoring and not addressing the concerns everyone has with what I would call a gross over pricing structure. I was on the fence about getting a Vita and was waiting to see it launch and how Sony was gonna be handling the pricing for the online store. Well guess I got my answer now.

            BIG QUESTION!
Can I buy games from the US PS store on the vita and switch back to my UK account to play those games that I bought on the US account?

Curious why A-Men isn’t available in Australia… Also curious on what the Aussie prices will be…

            @liortttttttttttt

nope as the account you buy a game on has to be active on a console when you try to play it much like if you delete your usa account from your ps3 the games wont play on your uk account.

this is why quite a few people are upset at only being able to have one account on vita at any one time , some people think this will be changed with firmware update but i dont see it myself as people using usa and other accounts to buy games negatively impacts scee sales figures so i dont see more than 1 account ever being allowed.

have they fix remote play yet bc that the only thing stoping me buy one

Any ideas on file sizes for each of these games, specifically the PSN only titles?

I thought digital versions were supposed to be discounted compared to physical releases? This is why the PSPGo failed because of a crap store of overpriced and late content, now you have overpriced proprietary memory cards too. Looks like physical may still be the best way to go for now at least, and I’m certainly not jumping onboard with Vita from day 1 now.

Thanks for the earlier reply regarding ‘Gravity Rush’…obviously i cant tell Sony what to do..but a release date in April would most certainly be suitable.

Gravity Rush was listed (wrongly) as a launch title on the PS Blog and on the official site..so thats why customers believed it was coming out tomorrow.

Even the official Australian site has it listed as 23rd Feb launch!

Its extremely anticipated..so Sony would be best to get it out sooner rather then later and sales will go through the roof!

Will the INDIAN PS Store have the Similar Content listed Above???

            When will it go live??

Disappointed coz Vita Arrives 2 days late to Indian shores i.e 25th Officially.

I agree that digital copies should be cheaper, but I really don’t see how they can be. If Sony sold Uncharted (for example) at £30 digitally, they would be undercutting all the retailers. They may as well shoot themselves in the foot, as no retailer is going to do business with a company that personally undercuts them. Until there is an end to physical copies, there is not going to be a big difference in digital/physical prices.

Besides, I see the physical copies as better value for money anyway. Even if the digital copy was 20% cheaper than the physical one, I would still get the physical copy. If I decide at some point that I no longer wish to play the game, I have the option to trade it in against a new game (I always buy new, never pre-owned). The vast majority of the time a game I trade in is worth more than 20% of its original cost, thus saving me money at that point. And if I keep playing the game and never want to trade it in, then it was obvioulsy worth the money I sp...

It’s my birthday tomorrow, but i’m currently very poor, can I have a free PS Vita as a birthday present :D?

            (was worth a try)

            Will be getting:
            Motorstorm RC,
            Escape Plan,
            Wipeout 2048,
            Hustle Kings,
            Super Stardust Delta

maybe Little Deviants. But prices on other games are too high for me, especially when compared to Boxed versions.

As I am going DD only I will have to wait for PSN sales. Was looking forward to Army Corps Of Hell but £34.99 :-z

I thought that Sony said that games were going to cost less on the store than physical. I mean you release a new console and you still cannot push digital? I am buying a Vita but I do not think I will be buying anything larger than 4gb card as these prices are just stupid. forget that stores give you discounts if your a student and they have loyalty schemes but the fact that they sell them cheaper buy day one is just stupid.

            150

The store is kinda live now in europe. No Vita’s contents, but if you go on search, you can find PSP/minis stuff.
Plus, check your download list, you’re be able to download some PSP games purchased in the past ;-)

Video Store running and working at 100%

            :D

ps plus when update?!?! i don’t know why tryne 2 never is on psn europe I will never buy this game to much time, on pc and xbox360 comes out in december we are almost on march, no problem i wil not buy no more. ps plus needs more games, why I pay 50 euros for one year? to have minis game?

ThePlay3er: I’ve read that even with phycical copies you can only earn trophies on them with the first console they’re activated on, if thats true secound sale market will be pretty dead, but I really hope it’s not true…, could anyone confirm if this is true or not as I read it in some article just around the japan launch…

Wow, thanks a lot Sony, I thought PSN prices were suppose to be cheaper, I was looking at downloading UMvC3 but at those prices forget it, at Retail its £29.99-£34.99, PSN:£39.99

First you keep it quite unlike the American store then you announce high prices just before launch and make it harder to now purchase retail copys and get them in time for launch.

Gravity Rush one of the two games I was really looking forward too is not here…

And again prices are just wow, I skipped on Shinobido 2 to get the digital version but its cheaper to get retail copy ~_~…

Other than that any news on what psp games can be played on launch? Think I saw a list on US blog but can’t recall one here.

Oh and I do hope that the discount for selected title from pre-ordering VITA will be available starting today ;)

EA are indeed the true villains in games business My god 45 quid i got to laugh too the interview with andy house.

saying about download prices he too understands download = cut out the cost of development it a pity sony does not set a example.

SCEE always says we don’t set prices so how comes uncharted is 40 quid it is a sony game.

lastly poor Ps3 to take a backseat this week it all about the vita.

tomorrow intresting day how many vita games out number Ps3 games tomorrow remember SCEE only releases about 3/4 ps3 titles per week 1/2 ps1 classics per quarter. :D

Andy House, President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment:

“We are aiming to recognise that expectation and have a lower price point for downloadable versions of games; we will need to evaluate exactly what difference that will be.

We have fantastic relationships with retail partners who have a large stake in the success of PlayStation Vita and we want that to continue, but we recognise the need to have a lower price point for digital games taking into account that you don’t have packaging costs and other extra considerations associated with physical copies.”

Just as well I went for game cards then!

I don’t see the skype app listed. Is that coming inbound anytime sure? I was under the impression it would be available upon launch.

seeing as gravity rush is download only, what are the odds on sony alienating it further by charging a ridiculous amount for it?

Just checked the Vita Store and theres now some access to content. No Vita games up yet but films/tv programmes are there as well as some PSP games.

Can we buy this from the PS3 store?

            161

for frobisher says is this the demo that’s been at the evens like playstation access or is it the full game do we know???

And will the code come at the same time as the codes for the £5 off or does it automatically show on our accounts as I wanted to buy soon as the store updates if I brought at full price would I get the £5 credit back to me?

It’s no wonder Sony kept such a tight lid on the store and PSV digital pricing… these prices are awful. I love the convenience of digital copies but I also love a physical box, but these prices are not what I was expecting! Come on Sony, do you really think Vita will compete with iOS when the prices are so, SO much more? Sure, you may say these are “premium games” compared to smaller games you get on smartphones, but let’s take Plants vs Zombies, for example… so much more on Vita.

Get a grip and stop being so greedy! You’d probably sell more games if they were cheaper and still have enough profit to buy a pint and chips at the end of the week.

Looking very good, PlayStation. Dungeon Hunter: Alliance seems like a fun online RPG. Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour & BlazBlue are already on its way to join my other launch party games. Fond of the love Sega put in.
I don’t like how for fellow PS gamers the DD BlazBlue is 39e, but in US $35. “What’s up with that?” /saturdaynightlive. Could you please get confirmation for Ragnarok Odyssey to come over?

aussie prices would be great but from looking at those prices, it looks like buying physical will be cheaper especially after a month or two. Should I regret buying the 32gb memory card now :(

I hope there will be discounts for psplus members.

might just pick up super stardust for now and wait if any “discounts” popup in the near future, not too happy since ive already spent around $600AUD on the console and accessories. with the games I want to grab, ill be looking at spending a total of $700-$800 :(

            165

I normally refrain from bashing but I had a check the other day at the currency exchange between US Dollars and UK Pound while looking at the prices on the US store for the Vita games. Golden Abyss was selling at the equivalent of around £28, now I understand prices will fluctuate but I will refuse to buy Triple A titles on the PS Vita at that difference to the UK.

Still can’t wait though as even stupid pricing like that will not dampen my spirit.

guys you cant compare these prices to ios at all for 1 reason.

ios is 100% digital distribution so there is no undercutting of retail stores going on, for us to have the prices most users are wishing for it would have to be a 100% digital platform like the ios family of products.

if the vita was announced as 100% dd people would have been up in arms at having to buy games but not having a physical product so i dont see what they were supposed to do here it seem’s like a lose lose situation to me.

i dont see the problem here just do what you do with ps3 games, buy the ones that are digital only if you want it and are happy with price and shop around online for retail titles.

for people who use the internet to keep up to date with games news i think most of you have been living under a rock as its been pretty well documented that even if titles were discounted on the store there was still going to be better deals to be had online at more traditional retailers.

What about a Gravity Daze demo, or whatever it will be called over here.

@Bumblebee I odn’t think that SOny is to blame
After all Vita’s SDK is cheapest on a PS hardware(cheaper than 3DS as well).
I believe that the prices are so high because of the need of rating the games and maybe the % of every purchased game Sony gets however I’ll stick to US PSN

#155 Skype will be coming to PlayStation Vita. However since Microsoft acquired Skype insiders say they are ruining it. The deal is also going to be challenged in European Union by Cisco.

            170

            Good luck for the launch

…thankyou once again SCEE for proving you are clueless at digital pricing, charge much more for games than the US, charge more than retail and that anyone who is buying a Vita until you treat us fair and equal is an idiot.

Sony, you are nowhere close to making this look appealing to a large number of your PS3 userbase or the general public. We are educated and know how SCEE likes to treat its customers, like we are second rate and many of us have had enough of it.

The SCEE PS Store compared to the US and Japan is insuting, we regularly get content long after other regions either something as small as weeks or in many cases years, much content we never get. Of the content we do get we usually end up paying much more than the US, your rivals are not the same and content in SCEE stores for both are always a higher price on PS store than the rival. The idea of a digital sales focused console is laughable to SCEE customers. The situation now is no better then when the PSP GO launched.

            ..tbc

We have heard the promises to catch up to other regions stores for years yet every week the gap in content grows, it does not shrink. Why should anyone have any faith this will change? There is a reason so many people on PS3 have made alternate US Store accounts, it is the only way to get access to much content they would otherwise never see. Yet PS Vita have disabled this abilty thanks to requiring a factory reset to switch PSN accounts, something that at the same time will destroy interest for people who wish to share a single PS Vita console the same way they share a single PS3 system. You seem completely disconnected from your customer wants or needs.

Promises that things will change will not be believed by many, especially since on day one you will already be robbing SCEE users of a choice by not releasing the 32GB memory card (the prices of these compared to standard memory cards is another major issue entirely), in addition to that Vita game prices seem to match the US pound ...

            ..tbc

Any news on what PSP games that are supported on the Vita? i took a look at the list SCEA gave out but alot of those titles says they cant be downloaded on Store on Vita (Yes you get in if you use the search).
Some games was available but very few comparted to the SCEA list.

We are already being treated like second rate customers and the Vita not even released yet, charging us much more for games for aparently no reason since not an issue on PS3, and then robbing customers of the 32GB memory card option meaning they will need buy an inferior sized card they may not want in the mean time or else no saving content.

You need to SHOW you can treat us equally to other regions before many will decide if they want a Vita and you have failed to even come close to showing that so far.

This blog post just proves it all bad once again.

            177

Will all the Vita stuff be available on the PS3 store at the same time?

Completely Agree with KylieDog above, Why do we keep getting shafted again and again SCEE?

I’m still at a loss for words. I’m never one to moan but surely when deciding the price someone suggested that people might not be happy with £40 price tags for games. And not only that, but announcing the prices at this time, mere hours before launch and way too late for anyone to cancel an order should they wish, is just disrespectful. You’ve lost a couple day one sales from me personally, and I can imagine other users are feeling the same. Way to undercut what was otherwise a fantastic lead-up to launch. Try to make the Vita compatible with PS1 titles so I’ll actually make use of the grossly overpriced memory card.

            180

please categorise the download list for PS3 & Vita… Thank you :)

Seeing more and more games up on the Vita store now, prices are looking good for us here in norway, usally the store prices are way lower. Looking at the PSV games it seems from 5-10 euros cheaper.

            182

The store is slowly going up! :D Only question is, when will we receive our £5 off and Froshibar says stuff?

            @uncleniccius

Apparently if you registered the email etc then it should be within the next 72 hours.

@uncleniccius you get that in the mail, atleast i did today. A box next to my Vita with headphones and a code to redeem on the store for Forshibar, home items, avatar and the discount.

            186

@gincairn @Djrabbit I registered my code, but no email… is it within 72 hours of release? If so that’s annoying.. wanted my $5 off today!

just reading through the posts and theres ALOT of disgruntled SONY customers (or potential customers) since the digital prices have been confirmed. This is a real shame SONY, this could have been an opportunity to really push the digital content and give your loyal customers a real choice as to whether they go hard copy or digital. Following the price confirmation there really is no choice considering memory card prices and now digital game prices. Disapointing – not to mention the price comparisons with the US versions!

            188

@Hugh, sony can’t dictate third party prices… although I feel Uncharted should certainly have been £35.

There are ALOT of trials/demos! I like that! :D
