'Heads-Up' Game Store Update 9 May 2012 3 'Heads-Up' Game Store Update 9 May 2012 1

Discover an eerie, intriguing realm in this unique interactive art experience where little is as ever as it seems and mystery and surprise await your every move.

Open the gates to a dreamlike forest, follow the paths between the trees, interact with your surroundings and attempt to answer three questions: why are you here? What are you supposed to do now? And is there a way out?

For the curious – for those willing to face the depths of their own conscience – the answers will be revealed by exploring the world of Datura.

PS Plus members will also have two weeks to purchase Datura at 20% off.

Other titles this week also include demos for Zack Zero and Spec Ops: The Line, as well as Arc Arena and Just Cause being our new PS2 and PSone Classics, respectively.

Andy has also been working on securing some new deals in a new sale with a somewhat retro theme to it. Did you never get round to purchasing Final Fight: Double Impact or *deep breath* Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix? How about some of the PixelJunk games such as PixelJunk Monsters or PixelJunk Eden? If you haven’t jumped to the bottom already then you may want to also know that PixelJunk Monsters, PixelJunk Eden, PixelJunk Shooter and PixelJunk Racers 2nd Lap are cheap as chips (cheaper maybe) for PS Plus members at just €0.99! Check out the list of titles in the sale right at the bottom.

As usual, this week’s content is below.

Ask Capcom for Resident Evil: Dead Aim HD! Also Night Trap HD from Sega!

Damn – some great PSone and PS2 games, but still no Pinball Arcade or Doctor Who: Eternity Clock, the two games I have funded my PSN account to buy! Any news on the release date for either of these titles? Or, and any news on more PSP games being made compatible for Vita? In particular Motorstorm: Arctic Edge and Killzone: Liberation?

Not as generous as the US with the Uncharted 2 DLC then? That does surprise me!

flashfumoLIVE 09 May, 2012 @ 13:05

This is a pretty weak update. Guess I’ll get some Disgaea DLC.

rayquaza2982 09 May, 2012 @ 13:05

Hi there Jawad, do you have any news on when Doctor Who the Eternity Clock will be available. And also any news on Spyro as a psone classic? Thank you. :)

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 14:43

Nothing yet on Dr.Who or Spyro (I’m still pushing this one!)

Wow, Datura is very cheap!

the US blog made the Uncharted 2 Dlc’s free will it also become free to the EU???

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 14:44

I will find out.

When is the next walking dead episode out? love that game. Might pick up dakatara but holding out for sonic next week

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 14:46

Walking Dead is schedule for a monthly release.

Hey bro,

Could you ask Capcom if their planning to release avatars for Yun,Yang,Oni & Evil Ryu from Super Street Fighter 4:Arcade Edition & if we are ever going get those Street Fighter 8-Bit avatars that USA got.

Why is there no discount on Dragon Age II DLC?

Want to have them all, but dont want to spend so much money on it, it cost more, than I gave for the normal game.

where is the Vita games. DLC still the only update?? Not helping yourselves Sony if you can’t get new games out.

Good to see the Rock Band DLC return in force! I’ll be grabbing the RATM tracks when I get home.

Is there a trial version of Datura?

The line demo is pretty good.

I can only recommend Binary Domain. It’s is one of the best third person shooters I’ve played this gen (and I’ve played most of them, including Gears, Uncharted and so on) in terms of gameplay.
Be sure to pick it up when you have the extra cash.

Playstation, are we ever going to see` PS2 classics such as Silent Hill 4 The Room, Grand Theft Auto 3, Enter The Matrix, 24 The Game. Proper PS titles.

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 14:49

I can’t say for any of those games but yes, other games will be come. Will they be the more popular selection? If we can secure it, then sure.

Connor_mufc_1985 09 May, 2012 @ 13:09

@Danlisa couldn’t agree more m8 , CVG asked Sony if us europeans will get the free Uncharted 2 dlc but they haven’t replied yet.

sephiroth180 09 May, 2012 @ 13:09

£20 for Binary Domain, plus 15%… Now I’m considering to buy it. The demo was pretty good.

Hey jawad. Do you know when the 2nd walling dead episode is out? Got my season pass and played episode 1 to death. Decent update. Might pick up binary domain and daktara. Holding out for sonic next week though

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 14:49

It should be by June time (or end of this month). It’s been planned for a monthly release.

MaikelSteneker 09 May, 2012 @ 13:09

It’s a bit disappointing to see you making those Pixeljunk games much more expensive for non-Plus members. It seems a bit unfair to have European gamers pay so much more for the same games. At a dollar a piece, I would have certainly given these games a try. At 4 euros a piece, I don’t think I’ll try them out.

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 17:29

Unfortunately the pricing is something we have to make do with. It was a difficult decision and we only hoped to have done exactly the same sort of offer.

Also, all the Pixel Junk titles were priced at $1 for EVERYONE in the US. How does $1 convert to £3.19?

It goes from bad to worse around here.

What’s happening with the vita it seems like its a machine that gets a look in once a month after buying two on day one I feeling a little short changed where is the software???

Are we down for any releases this Friday supremacy MMA is down for release but seems digital games rather coming late or just don’t come at all?

Hoping there is some change coming because paying top retail pricing to release hardly anything will certainly tarnish hopes of people investing I’ve brought very vita game to date but like anything if there is a draught what do you do have to relocate.

Any chance of Dino Crisis 2 coming to the EU store?

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 14:50

Possibly. Capcom will look into it.

Binary Domain is a fair price for once!

I think you may want to check the file size for Just Cause, missing an extra digit surely? ;)

Where’s the PixelJunk Sale then?

I hope tomorrows Hitman announcement is for the HD Collection!

Connor_mufc_1985 09 May, 2012 @ 13:10

@Kap the line demo rocks .. I played it already

oh and also I think you forgot one l in Gul[l]foss :P

SamTheSkater 09 May, 2012 @ 13:10

Definitely getting Datura!

Hey Jawad is there any chance of you guys getting Dustforce onto PSN? It’s developed by Hitbox Team. It’s like a cross between N+ and SuperMeatBoy. Also includes an amazing soundtrack.

Hey Jawad

Any news on Syphon Filter 2 eventually making it to the PS Store?

For those asking about the Walking Dead episodes they will come out each month.

No love for Vita again apart from some DLC? For shame :-(

theshortbaker 09 May, 2012 @ 13:12

Where is the additional spec ops DLC for resident evil op Racoon city? Is this planned to be released, caught up in QA testing etc
I think I saw the is get it last week and all we got was the weapons pack :-(

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 14:59

There’s some extra DLC incoming!

Oh, the joy of Rock Band DLC returning!! Im getting it all, just to celebrate ;)

@ Danlisa

Not all Pixeljunk titles are $1. PixelJunk Shooter 2, Sidescroller & Pixeljunk Monsters Deluxe are 50% $4.99

Hi Jawad is there any news on access coming to ps vita, noticed america is getting PULSE on vita

You know what I’m going to say already, don’t you?

Burnout Legends and Pixeljunk Monsters compatibility for Vita!!! Pleeeeeease.

Otherwise, a good update and I’ll be grabbing a few of those games with the PSN+ discount today.

ChemicalBacon90 09 May, 2012 @ 13:14

Seems a bit unfair that you’ve decided to make the PixelJunk games part of the PS+ package, when in the US, all users can get the majority of those games for $1 a piece – not just PS+.

My bad, didn’t read the entire post with regards to Pixeljunk sale (Slaps forehead) *DOH*!

Hi Jawad

When RE4 HD was announced in Europe,Sony promised free avatars for those of us who bought the game. Some weeks ago those avatars finally appeared in the store and aren´t free for those of us that bought RE4 HD.Are we ever going to get them for free or even we who bought the game, have to pay for them?

Also do you think it’s possible to get the Deus Ex: Human Revolution dynamic theme that SCEA has? Enjoyed the game a lot so would really like to have that theme avaiable for purchase.

Hi Jawad,

Shouldn’t ‘The Walking Dead (Trail)’ also be listed at not Available in Australia?

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 15:06

It’s listed at the bottom.

Good afternoon Jawad…

If i purchase Pixel Junk Monsters during this sale.. will this be the version i can move onto my Vita on May 15?

good update

Five and a half years and Sony still hasn’t figured out how to have the same offerings across all western regions? How long is it gonna take you to figure out how to do it? It’s the same picture every single week and most of the complaints would be gone if you just started doing a better job at getting content over. It’s not the Publishers, Microsoft has to work with the same pubs and they’re doing a perfect job at getting *all* content to *all* western regions at the same time (you don’t have to have the paid service for that, it’s free).

It’s getting hard to support you guys on the digital front. It might be a complicated process but the problem has been known for more than five years and there have been absolutely no improvements at all.

almighty-slayer 09 May, 2012 @ 13:18

US had a much better PixelJunk sale. Nice work SCEE :P

Just Datura for me this week then

Cyberendpunk 09 May, 2012 @ 13:18

No Parappa No Ape Escape No Legend of Dragoon….

Fine, I’ll continue waiting long after NA gamers are enjoying such titles.

RoninDennis 09 May, 2012 @ 13:18

Sadly, this is the Pixeljunk sale. Have to go over to the US store.

Seems like a decent enough update. Sadly, nothing for me in there.

Any news on the European release date for Pinball Arcade?

I’m going to eat a whole box of Sugar Puffs and then play Datura.

Hi Jawad,

How long will the sale on the Pixeljunk games last?

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 15:53

Finishes on 16th May.

CoolRichy008UK 09 May, 2012 @ 13:21

ye datura for me as well (slaps catkiller1 brain back in place lol) never slap urself lol

Is PSN getting the Ridge Racer Unbounded dlc packs? They have been on XBOX for nearly 2 weeks now!

All_Gen_Gamer 09 May, 2012 @ 13:22

Awesome, more Arc The Lad. Is there any word on

The Legend of Dragoon

Glad to see the Pixel Junk sale on. pity its not the same pricing as the US.
however i do have PS+. is the price £0.99 also or £0.69 for plus members as it is showing as (€0.99 for Plus members)

SuGaR_rAy_RiDeR 09 May, 2012 @ 13:25

Hi Jawad,

Just wanted to say thanks for getting the Dead Space 1 bundle together at a reduced price like you did for dead space 2 :-) was waiting for this to happen. Will defo purchse this later on today!!!!! YOU DA MAN!!!!

updates not too shabby shame i wont be getting much this week as STARHAWKS coming this friday =] any news on ps1 classic spyro i cant tell you how happy i would be to see that game finaly on the eu store would make my day lol sad i know but still hahaha

And still we wait for Sony to send out Renegade Ops codes :(
I know Mike Kebby suggested contacting Sega but don’t see why if Sega can sort it why can’t Sony who handled the promotion. Bizarre to say the least.
Anyways, Datura, MS:RC dlc and maybe pick up couple Pixeljunk games I’ve overlooked previously this week.
Is it possible we will ever see the GT5 Stealth cars on store or the old GT games on store as PSOne/PS2 Classics? I’m assuming its a license issue with the soundtracks seeings as Sony already have the manufacturer licenses for GT5

MrSmadSmartAlex 09 May, 2012 @ 13:26

Just posting my weekly Legend of Dragoon request. Can you tell us what the problem is? It’s a 1st party game that already got a European release.

Nice prices on the PS1 and PS2 Classics sale. The Pixeljunk games… not so much.

Always disppointing~

left4bread3 09 May, 2012 @ 13:27

When can we expect decent ps2 titles here are a few examples silent hill 4, silent hill origins, silent shattered memories, fatal frame, fahrenheit.

Hi Jawad,

That’s totally unfair. That’s the second time US gets Uncharted 2 DLC for free, once PS+ members had that offer, and now it’s free for all US users. We (European) were not presented with either offer. that’s not fair.. Please, pull your strings and try as much as you can to get these DLCs for us as well.

I’m sure you’ll do it :)

Just downloaded the official ps app for android and found out about metal slug and motorstorm rc. Thanks!

xBlackBeard 09 May, 2012 @ 13:29

When will spyro 1,2,3 and croc and kingsley be released in the psn store? the waiting is killing lots of people =(

I have heard that US players are going to get Uncharted 2 DLCs for free, is there a chance that will happen for us EU players too?

Beside that, is there any chance we can get a discount on LBP DLCs? They cost 6€ each (MGS & PotC) and it’s been a long time since they’ve been released…

Light-and-magic 09 May, 2012 @ 13:31

How comes America got the PixelJunk games for $1 each and we’re getting them for £3.19?

The difference between the US and European pixeljunk sales is downright insulting.

$<€!!! Get your act toghether Sony!!!

No free Uncharted 2 DLC? Fail!!!

When Video Unlimited for Netherlands (I heard end 2012)?

So there will be a new PS+ abo, explain!

Snap 02-12

Agree with you completely, shopping on SCEE is a very 2nd class service compared to the U.S and Japanese stores.

modzerowo40i 09 May, 2012 @ 13:36

Koko, Koko kij wam w oko.

geez someone actually wants Night Trap? It could never be HD up as it was shot in SD – the game was originally developed for tech that never came out – the only reason Sega put it out as the Hasbro NEMO system was canned – otherwise it was a really crap game – if you need to see Dana Plato that badly may I recommend Different Strokes : the story of Jack and Jill…and Jill

Datura for me – as I like my psychoactive hallucinogens to be deadly

This is a bit silly really. So in the American store, the Pixel junk games are reduced to $1 FOR EVERYONE, and in the case of Eden, Monsters and Second lap, you get all 3 for $2, again FOR EVERYONE

The sale comes to England, and you’re charging over £3 for them? and PS+ members get them for slightly shy of £1.

Surely everyone should be getting them at 99p? and PS+ for 79p or something at least close to the US offer? This is ridiculously poor that everytime sales transfer from the US store, we get shafted and you don’t bother to actually convert the prices. You charge us the same price (with a £ sign instead of $) or in this case, keep it raised high above. It’s been stated that you want to get all the store on level terms with each other before. Great. So stop screwing over Europe and charging us more than the other regions.

PixelJunk huge Sale (0.99) is only for Plus members in Europe? that’s a shame…
Another greedy move from SCEE. Not surprised.

The_Soviet_Star 09 May, 2012 @ 13:41

What an utter disappointing update :( where are the promised huge batch of Capcom avatars? eh Jawad ? you people promise alot but don’t seem to deliver. John Bergman avatars ? you’re joking those avatars are crap im disappointed i was waiting for loads of Capcom avatars……..

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 16:00

I never promised they’d be here tomorrow, or next week. There are some due. When is a different matter but they are coming.

Before you make the mistake of buying the Dead Space “Super” Bundle for £23.99… go buy the boxed version of the game from for £10 and then buy the DLC bundle for £7.99. £17.99 is better than £23.99!

Very happy that we have Shinobido DLC. And more Dynasty Warriors, of course. Thanks!

Huono_peleis 09 May, 2012 @ 13:47

Where is “Velocity”?

a) It’s UK exclusive and we misinformed you. Sorry. Will happen again.
b) It’s coming __.__.____ . We misinformed you. Sorry. Will happen again.
c) We are ignoring you again. Trololololololo-lol-lo-lol-lo-loo!

Hi Jawad,

I’ve mentioned this before but nothing seems to have been done about it yet. Locoroco 2 is in the Essentials range on UMD but not as a download on the store, and is still priced at £14.99 last time I checked. When will this be amended?

The reason I ask is because I own the UMD but would really like it as a download, and I’m not prepared to spend over £10 for something I’ve already bought once. I’m surprised it’s taking so long for this to get changed, especially as it’s been an Essential title for so long now.

Aside from this gripe, I am really pleased to see PJ Sidescroller on sale. I love both PJ Shooter 1 and 2, and while I enjoyed the Sidescroller demo I’m afraid that I didn’t want to get it a full price, so at least I can finally play the full game now!

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 16:10

I’ll let Andy know and hopefully something will come of it.

Carnivius_Prime 09 May, 2012 @ 13:51

“part PlayStation Move adventure, part interactive art concept” – The first part of that had me curious but ‘interactive art concept’ really just put me off.

Still waiting for Doctor Who. Money’s been sat in my PSN account for a while since I traded in stuff to GAME to clear my flat and then spent it all on PSN vouchers cos there’s nothing in GAME I wanted (and also it’s hard to know if they’ll even be around when something actually comes out that I’d want).

Even the special offers don’t appeal to me. Final Fight is still fun after all these years but I’ve already got it. SSFIITHDRemix is a travesty and overpriced even there and I simply do not care for any of the Pixeljunk games. I wish they were more pixelly and less junky.

The_Soviet_Star 09 May, 2012 @ 13:51

also the Vita i fear it’s going to end like PSP GO there’s rarerly a Vita game around & yesterday the US got free uncharted 2 dlc & pixeljunk anniversary sale games for $1 why is europe treated like third class citizens? about a week ago i read in CVG that the PS3 sells more in europe , XBOX360 sells more in the US & the 3DS sells more in japan. how come europe is being treated like this in terms of content when it’s clearly we are the ones keeping PS3 going strong huh?

@ The_Soviet_Star where you from you not with SCEE when did you get that avatar from? because EU hasn’t got it.

Don’t buy the pixel games from the EU Psn store. Just create a US account and get a Plastation network card.
Btw, adding two psp games to the vita compatibility list in two weeks isn’t progressive.

And, If Sony bothered to put up a schedule or an announcement of 5-10 psp games every month, one problem in their backlog of promised features would be resolved for the meantime.

@klotX I believe plus users did get the uncharted stuff but it was on an irregular day, unpromoted and for a short space of time. because SCEE are that good to us

TheCursedMonkey 09 May, 2012 @ 13:52

I’m not gonna start moaning about the PixelJunk sale even if I do feel a little bit cheated. But I check the update every week and people are always comparing the European update to the American update and there are always complaints. Sometimes I feel the blog could help themselves by explaining why certain things happen like the PixelJunk sale being different and the Uncharted DLC not appearing. If you explain the reasons maybe people wouldn’t complain so much.

@ The_Soviet_Star you from Hong Kong?

All_Gen_Gamer 09 May, 2012 @ 13:55

The thing that [DELETE] me off the most is that we wait a whole week and expect some good PS one and PS2 Classics and we get 1 Import and Just Cause only. Now we have to wait another week and for what. We need information on what the hell is comning up and we need release dates. There are so many awesome PS2 Classics and we get 1 only which i’m not interested in and i’m sure alot of others arn’t either. Arc the Lad is good at least, i’m a huge JRPG fanatic but seriously we could have gotten a couple more games because waiting a week for 1 PS one Classic and 1 PS2 Classic is kind of dumb.

Carnivius_Prime 09 May, 2012 @ 13:55

Last week’s Plus Update was great by the way. Had a couple games already but Awesomenauts was decent as were some of the older games. Found myself oddly enjoying that Mahjong. No idea why. Nice relaxing game though. Same reason I bought Pure Chess I suppose.

DiekStiekem 09 May, 2012 @ 13:55

Any update on those Resident Evil 5 and Asura’s Wrath avatars? (I’ve already given up on the Marvel vs Capcom 3 avatars since those were released over a year ago on the US store…)

Has Capcom already submitted them? Or are they floating in Sony approval limbo?

It’s Asura’s Wrath DLC for me this week.

Hello Jawad! I have one thing that is bothering me.

The Lack of Previews

We’re not on XBL, so we’re kinda grudgingly used to the fact that not every game has a trial version. But if there is a possibility of a trial version, there should be one. If not, then at least a trailer or a collection of screenshots. That should be the case with DLC, too. So why are there numerous games and pieces of DLC with no preview at all? Other content is the same case. There are dynamic and normal themes and wallpapers with a price tag but without previews. Again, why? Does Sony let the publishers decide whether or not to add previews? If that is the case, then I am appalled! That should be changed immediately!

Wow . I was gonna buy all the Pixel Junk stuff because I thought it would be £1 a pop (worse way) but 3.19 wat a joke …….No thanks

@adumr82, you’re right, I have those DLCs, but as you stated it was unannounced, I have a friend telling me to go to the store and download it, it was made available on a friday evening, and was pulled out on sunday, not a single post was given that day :)

SCEE didn’t say anything about it, so it became unnoticed by the vast majority of Plus members.

Even though, and you agree with me, it is not fair !

EternalChaos72 09 May, 2012 @ 14:05

total garbabge!! jesus capcom hurry up with the avatars!!

D-DAY-DANNY-MAN 09 May, 2012 @ 14:07

The UK store not updated yet

I can’t understand why we have to pay £3.19 for the Pixeljunk series here in the UK when the US have them on offer for $1.
Is this SCEE being greedy or was it decided by Q-Games???

Hi Jarad,

Is it correct that Metal Slug 2 is not Vita compatible?

That’s strange because the first Metal Slug is, and I’m pretty sure it is Vita compatible in the US.

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 16:34

I’ll look into this. This is the case as far as I can tell though.

A few of the awesome titles released on ipad today alone:

Gratuitous Space Battles

This Month (Games): 905 ( 129 / day )
This Month (Non-Games): 4,809 ( 687 / day )
This Month (Total): 5,714 ( 816 / day )

I mean seriously SONY. Get a grip on your business model.
We purchased the VITA thinking you would do what it takes to make something of it.

Where are the incentives for new developers? Where are the game announcements? Where are the game releases.

You are – as always – pathetically showing your age in an industry that you should be dominating.

You had a chance here to take back the handheld market. You aren’t giving anyone confidence so far. How do you expect to ship any more units when there is literally nothing to play on it.

I have played more PSP titles on my VITA than dedicated VITA games. You are an embarrassment to yourselves and your customers.

Wow just saw the PixelJunk prices. Insanity strikes again.

Which retard decided on that pricing? It’s an insult to customer loyalty that there would be such disparity in pricing on PlayStation only titles between USA and EU.

There is no excuse for this. But it’s not as if the people here with legitimate complaints ever get appeased. After all we don’t pay the bills here….oh wait.

AaronSOLDIER 09 May, 2012 @ 14:14

Uncharted 2 DLC Free?

Hey Ninestein,

You’re right, Metal slug 2 on psp is compatible with the Ps Vita in the US.
It must’ve been really difficult to make that game vita-compatible for the UK…. NOT!

windsorblue01 09 May, 2012 @ 14:18

why are you complaining if you allready have them is it because you like nto complain i understand the people who dont have them but for someone who got them last time its a bit sad

Any news on Star Wars Battlefront Renegade Squadron updated for the PS Vita

Also, what is that Warhawk PSOne Classic in the “downloads – more images” section on the right of this blog? Warhawk wasn’t released in Europe as a PSOne Classics yet, has it?

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 16:22

Warhawk is an exclusive for those who redeem their Starhawk online pass.

It doesn’t matter if I have them or not, it’s simply not playing fair for the european users and that’s what I’m pointing out.

I’m not complaining, I’m just stating a fact and reinforcing that US and EU members get way different treatment by the same (mother) company and the same gaming platform.
I’m sure that the more voices bringing these facts up to the surface the more feedback and power we and EU PSN team have to make a change.

I’m not trying to be the one here complaining, I’m trying to be plus one. One rarely makes a difference.

I hope this clarifies my position.

@ Cyberendpunk

NA don’t have Ape Escape & Parappa The Rappa!

Not impressed with the fast one that has been pulled with the PixelJunk sale. This is in relation to the US where most of the older titles are $1 each for all yet in europe you have made those prices only available to Plus subscribers.

As a result instead of me intending to buy several games I will be getting none.

Hello Jawad, I have a question, what about Warhawk (PSone) is it coming to the store as a PSone classic, even for those who doesn’t purchase Starhawk? :)

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 16:35

It’s exclusive to those who redeem their Starhawk online pass only.

supersmith2500 09 May, 2012 @ 14:31

A another PS2 game from THQ. Weak!

Can’t any another game company like Capcom, Konami, EA, SEGA, NamcoBandai and even SCE themselves add their games as well. I mean it’s not that hard and the two companies that add PS2 games on there are THQ and that crappy game company Midas. You know Jawad, PS2 collection is already a joke anyways. I know it’s not your fault Jawad but who wants to buy a crappy Midas game from PSN when you can get better PS2 games everywhere for a cheap price?

lardteamaker 09 May, 2012 @ 14:32

i’d have picked up the pixeljunk games for a pound if they were that price. Doing the conversion we’re paying $4.13 more than our U.S. gamers. Shame that.

modzerowo40i 09 May, 2012 @ 14:33

Where’s replies?

I want more ‘real’ PS2 classics on PSN like SSX 1, TimeSplitters 2, KillZone 1, GT3, GTA3, The Getaway etc etc? ? ? :(

@ Opt1mus76

When I return home from work i’ll send you the contact details for Mike Kebby & he’ll send you a voucher to redeem, which also includes Coldstrike, as an apology!

@ BigPaja

Read the Starhawk post & all will become clear!

k1ll1ng5pr33-NL 09 May, 2012 @ 14:40

So why does the US get the Pixeljunk games for 0.99 DOLLAR and we get them for 0.99 EURO? Not to mention, only if you’re a PS+ Sub..

ferenzzz1971 09 May, 2012 @ 14:41

EternalChaos72 09 May, 2012 @ 14:42

jawad please tell me u have some sort of update for these capcom avatars?! this is startin to irritate me!

Disappointed that EU pixeljunk prices are far higher than they are in US. Anyone official care to explain why we must pay much higher prices outside of usa.

DarkRedError 09 May, 2012 @ 14:46

I’d just like to say a big thank you to EA Games (If that’s whose responsible for this) for putting up a Dead Space DLC bundle, i’ve wanted to get all the DLC for a while but it was a bit too expensive separately. Same goes for all the other DLC bundles (Dante’s Inferno, Dead Space 2, Burnout Paradise, Need For Speed). It’s brilliant that I can just buy it all in one go if I want to without having to see which DLC contains bits of other DLC that I could get separately etc…
I know DLC like this is a bit controversial (no trophies, just weapon skins etc…) but I like it so for me this makes things easier and cheaper so thanks again.
P.S. I can’t wait to play Datura & i’m loving the PixelJunk sale! Couldn’t care less if the US are getting them cheaper or whatever, all I know is i’ll be getting them cheaper than what I would’ve paid for them and I was about to buy them all anyway.

Will Starhawk be getting a PSN release, then I’ll buy. I’m not getting the retail release.

Seiten-Taisen 09 May, 2012 @ 14:47

What a joke SCEE has managed to turn this Pixel Junk sale into… Feel sorry for the Pixel Junk guys, hopefully none of this negativity is directed at those guys.

Hello Jawad,

Is it likely that Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock will be released on the store on Friday to coincide with the retail release? I’ll get it in-store if it is the same price, have a lot of GAME credit to use up.

playahater94 09 May, 2012 @ 14:52

Road Trip Adventure for 3.99? That is a great little game.

MadMackemUK 09 May, 2012 @ 14:56

Any offers coming soon for psn plus subs? mine is up end of the month but wanted to see if any deals were on there way.

Jawad Ashraf 09 May, 2012 @ 16:58

Ross has a PS Plus blog post up going through this month’s content. He’ll have another one up for next month at the tail end of the month.

Devastated the Pixel Junk sale is ONLY for PS+ members!! :(
Not a nice way to treat your customers SCEE..

It’s free for everyone in the US.

Shou_Kobayashi 09 May, 2012 @ 15:00

Where is the Batman: AA DLC, it was announced to go online on 29th (yep PSN Sunday) April…

Nothing much for me today to be honest.

D-DAY-DANNY-MAN 09 May, 2012 @ 15:06

What time will the store update?

Kinda cool how he keeps ignoring the people who ask about pricing differences between US / EU and just answer things we all know.

Like walking dead being a montly thing .. that was told when it came out etc

Ah well

Bgjknpqswvyu 09 May, 2012 @ 15:19

Hi Jawad, last week as PS Plus member I was looking forward to playing Max Payne. Sadly once the game was booting up my screen turned to black & white which normally happens with imported games cos I don’t have an HD ready tv. Is there any advice you can give me and will I have the same trouble with other PS2 games cos I was interested in getting the two Maximo games?

Hmmm, it seems like forever that I’ve been waiting for Pinball Arcade to come out here.
What’s the delay? Is there a release date?

Week after week goes by, but still no sign of it.

That should clear things up! ;)

what’s up with those NIS avatars for netherlands we weren’t even on the list as not available and yet we still don’t have them!!!
how many times does a person have 2 ask the same question at this blog. before he get’s a honest awnser.

Where’s the Flow soundtrack? The US store had it last week. Could someone (without wishing to victimise Jawad here) please tell me what possible excuse there can be for the delay?

I know it’s available on iTunes, but I don’t want to purchase from them. And do you really want to lose a cut of your profits to Apple of all people? Come on.

LOL, Starhwak link updated to state that it’s retail only ;)

+ The Pixeljunk games, 1$ FOR ALL in USA. 4 euros here in Europe. ¡You must be joking!

+Uncharted 2 DLCs free in USA. NOTHING for Europe.

+No Pinball Arcade here for Vita or PS3, is a month old in USA.

Good work Sony… >:(

Time to spend my money at the Xbox Live marketplace…

TheKillingBean 09 May, 2012 @ 15:27

When is Pinball Arcade coming for the Vita in Europe? America already has it for a few weeks.

Vita is turning into the GO it already looks like.

This is starting to get a bit worrying Each week i become a step closer to flogging the £260 dust collector

And For the Pixel Sale i Have two words for SCEE G____Y B_______S !

Rant Over Have A Nice Day ..^_^..

Any news about the free Velocity mini?

About my #39 Comment:

Currently, it has ‘Availability: Not available in AS, DE, NZ’ for the Walking Dead Trial.

Yes, and where is Velocity mini? Oh yes, you must be Plus to buy it, wait another week, maybe a month, you are a second-class customer…

Dont forget it’s psn maintenance this afternoon 4pm till 12.good thing it’s a crap ps store update.and just buy the pixaljunk games from the USA store like I’m going to give my money to a store that know how to treat the customers right

Wraith_Bringer 09 May, 2012 @ 15:44

Hi Jawad,

I asked a question last week that went unanswered and I’d really love a reply as I am thoroughly annoyed with this.

I’ve wanted NHL 12 since it come out but I didn’t have the finances to pre-order and nowhere has restocked since. It’s on PSN for £57.99 and yet £19.99 in GAME if I order it in store.

Now I really want a digital copy but how the hell do EA justify that price? It won’t be supported in three months time, it has one British team I know of. The price is a abyssmal and totally stupid. Please tell me there’ll be a reasonable price soon.

Annoying with the PixelJunk pricing, this is the internet, things like this don’t stay quiet.

I wonder if this week SCEE has learned to spell and grammar check their data entry’s in the store.

I’m with everyone on here about pixeljunk. I’m a plus subscriber so get the cheaper price but it is highly offensive that everyone doesn’t get it. I don’t remember the last store update that went smoothly. no wonder no one actually wants the job of doing this post. then again of scee did their job right it wouldn’t be an issue.

Stonesthrow 09 May, 2012 @ 15:47

I’ll get Datura, eventhough it’s expensive for a game that only lasts a couple of hours. And releasing at the same time as Starhawk isn’t all that either.

Anybody know what has happened to ‘Deadly Strike’ PS2 game. Was going to buy it later today, but it has disappeared.

Just wondering if there is any chance that the ‘RockMan’ series of games will be coming to the EU store?

Where is Pinball Arcade? Where is Pinball Arcade? Where is Pinball Arcade?

( Sorry, nobody seems to be listening. )

wanderingscotty 09 May, 2012 @ 15:52

Bit confused with Metal Slug 2 regarding compatibility with Vita.

You are saying it is not compatible.

But Sony released a list of PSP games which are compatible with the Vita and Metal Slug 2 is listed.

Bashful1979 09 May, 2012 @ 15:54

Hi there, I asked last week but dont know if i was too late for comments to be replied to so I shall try this week. Is there any chance of any of these games appearing in the playstation store for ps3 or vita…

1 Clock tower
2 clock tower 3
3 Haunting ground
4 Michigan report from hell
5 Cold fear

and could sega be persuaded to let us have shenmue 1 and 2 as well?

If you dont answer i take it as you do not know :p

Thank you

loonytoon1982 09 May, 2012 @ 15:54

Despite already owning the Pixeljunk games, I see a lot of complaints regarding the pricing this week. However, here is what Dylan Cuthbert had to say on the matter earlier:

“it was the best eu could do – I pushed for the exact same condition but there are different costs there”

So it sounds like it’s down to how things work in EU due to the pricing structures or whatever. Either way, the price of the games are discounted for all users, I paid around £6.50 for each of them, you can only imagine how much I’m kicking myself now at those prices but even at £3.19 they’re well worth the price.

ChairyBoyArmy 09 May, 2012 @ 15:54

To whom will have the POWER to make this happen ,will we get a ps2 CLASSIC “The Warriors” plz answer me either way, simple yeh or nah will be all i require. thanks in advance.

I’ve jsut noticed Red Faction Armageddon is £57.99 is that a mistake?

AngelVsMadman 09 May, 2012 @ 15:59

I’m missing the Velocity mini in the AT-Store, can only find it in the UK or DE-Store.
When can we expect it?

Light-and-magic 09 May, 2012 @ 16:01

@Skookie: That avatar is from the asian deluxe version of FFXIII. I also have it but can’t use it since I have a european PSN account. (Also it’s expired now). I believe their flag is Hong Kong

the Pixeljunk series, Uncharted 2, and Legend of Dragoon.

what two things are common to all three.

1: they’re all published by sony computer entertainment.
2: they’re all available for sale, in a sale for all, or having their dlc free, in the us but not in europe on their official sony playstation store.

I love how in the US the PixelJunk games are $0.99 for EVERYONE but only for PS Plus users in Europe. Why does Sony constantly give it’s European users a worse service?

I can’t see me buying a console next gen if Sony keep this [DELETED] up, I’m going to stick to my PC.

So the store has been updated with all those PS1 & 2 games and none are even worth playing let alone paying for !! Where are all the good games ? There are literally hundreds of classics on these consoles, the very foundation of gaming exists on playstation’s back catalogue so let them loose dammit !

Also Binary Domain is now £11.96 at Amazon, not so much of a saving now huh ?
And lastly could we have a free demo/trial for Datura please. It does look very interesting !

Hey Jawad nice pixeljunk sale, but it seems we don’t have the bundle pack like the US.
Anyway I was wondering if u have any news about persona 3 release in europe?

crackalakaling 09 May, 2012 @ 16:17

Any chance of WRC 4 or WRC:Rally evolved can make it part of the ps2 classics? Been disappointed with all the rally games on the PS3.

@Catkiller1, thank you. I appreciate that but my point is that Sony should have sorted this by now. Not Sega. Sony cocked up with the Play promo, firstly with Payday and then Renegade Ops but no one is willing to take responsibility or correct it other than Mike who shouldn’t need to get involved to resolve it. Its been an ongoing problem where codes aren’t sent within any reasonable time period or in some cases, like Renegade Ops, not sent even after about 5 months after release of the associated content. If Mike/Sega is sending out codes does this mean Sony have washed their hands of it?

like some other guys asked before.
Are there some News about the release Date for Pinball Arcade? Is it already in the process? or not. If you can´t answer it, a short statement would be nice. Thx.

Connor_mufc_1985 09 May, 2012 @ 16:26

Jawaad pardon my ignorance but I think I speak for most of the eu ps community when I say we are fed up of SCEA being heavily favoured over ourselves , we put way more money in Sony’s pockets than America do , yet we get continually screwed over in regards to Content , Sony do realise the PS3 will never do better than the 360 in America right? it honestly feels like Sony spends most of there time trying to convince Americans to ditch the 360 and come to PS3 but it hasn’t worked out so far has it and probably never will.

Another disappointing week for psvita i see. I seem to be confused are you wanting to sell the device or not?. What was is Sony said once, content is King.

Major releases outside launch line up in feb include MK,Motorstorm RC,Unit 13,Disgea 3 and Pure chess. Its like you not even trying 3 months after launch. What happened to regular fresh content. Still no word on Zen pinball 2 or pinball arcade, Sound shapes, Doctor who etc etc. Piece of advice get psvita into as many hands as possible, tour country’s with booths so joe public can see the devices potential etc and get regular new content on there for those launch day purchasers. If something doesn’t change i can say how much longer i’m gonna be a proud psvita owner for.

@ Bealinator

Just so you know the retail version of The Eternity Clock isn’t out this Friday. Looks like its been moved to the 25th.

Supremacy MMA – Unrestricted (PlayStation Vita)
by 505 Games

Releases this Friday 11th May so is this getting ignored?i ask week in week out about releases for vita do we have a schedule for release or is it doing a Ben 10 racing and be ignored for weeks. Also silent hill book of memory’s do these games even get recognised?

MR Jawad Ashraf its a simple question “Why the price difference on the PixelJunk stuff”

Answer 1: thats just how it is..

Answer 2: I’ll Look into it there may have been an issue with the price conversion.

If you have to ask a higher up …so be it..

Please think about adding Tetris Worlds to the PS2 section. I love that game!

Dont think we’ll get a fix on the PJ prices …

he ignored all questions sofar from page 1-2 about it.

We just have to pay a lot more or dont buy em at all.

EU is a very strong market for Sony, stronger than the USA. And what do we get for that? More expensive prices (PixelJunk pricing is a joke), no free DLC.

lardteamaker 09 May, 2012 @ 16:59

@166 no brainer then really for me. No sale if the developer tried and couldn’t because of something on the EU end then unfortunatly that’s the reason i’m not going to buy.

EU is overlooked once again. Let’s all move to America

Yep ….! put me down for a NO PURCHASE on the pixel junk, Shame but i’ll get over it.

Odd move by SCEE with the PixelJunk ‘sale’, they walked straight into bad PR & can’t be bothered to explain themselves.

The only thing I can think of is that SCEE are desperate to get people to sign up to PS+

Shadowdragoon 09 May, 2012 @ 17:33

Still not getting the Disgaea 4 DLCs? why? If it’s true that SCEE is demanding the text for storeentry in Norwegian, DO NOT DO THAT, WE CAN READ ENGLISH YOU BLOODY FOOLS.

Found another one, On the PS3, under Vita Games, the Hige sqaure that shows “ads” On the Top Sellers picture there is the game Disgaea 3, when I enter (X button) the picture, It do not show up in the screen whit the games, either let us buy it or remove it from that picture, it is false advertising and its actually illegal for you to show it as purchaseable and not have it for sale. (Yes, I am getting annoyed enough at SCEE idiocy to consider using things like legal ways to get back at SCEE however small and probably not much more than a blip on the lower managements screen).

SCEE has found another way to Shaft EU fanbase,

“It’s exclusive to those who redeem their Starhawk online pass only.”

it could be on PSN but not for free, here another cheap gimick at the cost of EU ppl that wants ps1 classics.

chrisandsheva 09 May, 2012 @ 17:57

About the Pixceljunk price fiasco…. I think No-one has added how us PLUS subbers are supposed to feel about this.. obviously i and most of us aren’t happy it’s PLUS only… But i ain’t very pleased that this ‘offering’ will be considered by the store/plus team as a actual contribution towards Our monthly gains… ie IF it was the same price for all, like in the US, We would still get (maybe) different (and Better, imo.) content, But No, give them, (EU,PLUS) the US ‘leftovers’, Again… Am i the only one thats spotted this different side to this Bad move by scee… Whatever way you look at it it’s a shame and a Insult.. speaking of which, Why doesn’t ‘someone’ have the deceny to Reply to at least ONE of this blogs MAJOR topics.. WE Know Walking Dead is monthly etc… Stop Ignoring VALID comments, please.

@171, shadowdragon:

According to a small FAQ blurb at the end of last week’s PSN update post (after pertering about it for several weeks), apparently it was the publisher’s explicit decision to withhold all current NIS DLC (Disgaea 4, Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2, etc.) content from customers in Scandinavia and Poland.

As for the actual reasoning behind this decision, one can only guess. They don’t want our money, it seems.

Ross has a PS Plus blog post up going through this month’s content. He’ll have another one up for next month at the tail end of the month.

he said Plus Sub offers … not offers for monthly stuff.

As in ‘buy 1 year get 1 month free’ or something like that.

Jawad plz read questions before u reply … its not really professional.

And fix the PJ prices to the US standard too

probably just datura for me this week… wish there was a demo cause unsure about the perspective never been keen on games where you’re in the characters head lol. but looks very very interesting… also any news on the next ffxiii2 dlc? it was rumoured theres a snow and/or lightning dlc episode due out mid may so please tell me thats next week?! completed every little bit now apart from the coliseum and one more fragment…

Light-and-magic 09 May, 2012 @ 18:32

The thing is, PixelJunk have a new experimental game coming out soon, but they just lost a huge chunk of their fanbase in a whole continent with one poor move, this is going to damage the company pretty badly, not to mention that despite the price being so much dearer of the ‘sale’ games, they’ll still earn less from those because so few will actually go out of their way to buy them (mostly those who weren’t aware of how cheap America got them). I suppose what I’m saying is, atleast we have some solace in that PJ are screwing themselves over too. Morale: Don’t try sales promises you can’t keep

Brilliant price for Binary Domain, really fantasic game. I’d get it myself if I hadn’t already paid full price with my pre-order and got an import copy too :(

Anyone into TPS games should check out BD, the robot dismemberment mechanic is great, there’s plenty of really good and varied enemies, lots of great boss fights, entertaining story and characters (like any game from the Yakuza studio) etc :)

DarkRedError 09 May, 2012 @ 18:46

On the PlayStation Store, the section on the right hand side of the main page advertising the newest content is wrong.
When it comes to the sale section it shows Street Fighter II, Worms & PixelJunk Monsters.
I believe that there isn’t a sale on anything Worms related at the moment but please correct me if i’m wrong.

Huono_peleis 09 May, 2012 @ 18:55

I quote myself:

“Where is “Velocity”?

a) It’s UK exclusive and we misinformed you. Sorry. Will happen again.
b) It’s coming __.__.____ . We misinformed you. Sorry. Will happen again.
c) We are ignoring you again. Trololololololo-lol-lo-lol-lo-loo!”

And C it is! :D

Jawad Ashraf 10 May, 2012 @ 09:47

A no response doesn’t mean you’re beig ignored, come on now.

I’m going to speak Ross about it and see what we can do. From what I know the game wasn’t made available everywhere.

InnerSenses 09 May, 2012 @ 18:57

I’ll probably end up getting Hercules for PS1 just for the memories! Any word on Legend of Dragoon? Please keep pushing them for it! WE’RE DESPERATE!

Jawad Ashraf 10 May, 2012 @ 09:41

Pushing for what I can, good sir!

Is this update live now?

i am also hoping for the Uncharted 2 DLC to come free of charge for us EU PSN users. Cheers!

Yesterday, when I saw the USA update I want to buy ALL the PixelJunk games and maybe the new game next week. Now, with the “european” price (4 euros per game) I am not goind to buy ANYTHING. ZERO. Even the new game. I am very angry… >:(

supersmith2500 09 May, 2012 @ 19:40

*sigh* Nothing but more complaints as well due to Sony’s ignorance with expensive pricing for PixelJunk games when they are 3.19 while in US they are $1.

Well, looks like the Vita is getting crap content then ever now and is slowly turning into A PSPGO. I’ve already giving it a year.

I call bulls**t from jawad. If scee really wanted to offer the same they would have. they had no interest in a fair deal and more interest in Europeans subsiding americans. the comments from the pixeljunk guy confirm this.

OMG why the hell are we not getting velocity!!! I demand another free mini!!

Jawad Ashraf 10 May, 2012 @ 09:40

I’ll get in touch with Ross.

Are you guys serious about these PixelJunk prices?
Instead of paying $2 in the US, I have to pay $11, and because of your stupid pricing I have to pay $20 for the credit for my account.

So instead of getting $2 or even more from, say, the US bundles, PixelJunk is getting $0. And further discounts for PS Plus users in Europe, but not in the US? Give me a break.

It’s like how we pay double for everything. $120AUD for $60USD games. $11AUD for $2USD games. And sometimes, I just get sick of it.

Jawad, PS are releasing poor PS2 titles that nobody wants!

If you release games like GTA3, Vice City, and San Andreas, then you’ll see sales!

Same as Silent Hill 4 and the other more popular classics.

Jawad Ashraf 10 May, 2012 @ 09:36

The big ones are definitely getting a look into. When or if they come out isn’t so easy to pin down, though.

why US store has everything you want in low-priced than EU store?
also there are alot of stuff in US store than we have(games, themes, avatars etc…)seriously SONY at least we want some justice here.

marcocatena 09 May, 2012 @ 21:21

Can I suggest putting 007 Nightfire PS2 classic on the store, that would make my day.

When will you make Killzone: Liberation [PSP] compatible with VITA?

* Is there any option to make PSPGo ambassador games (Everybody’s Golf and Resistante: Retribution) compatible with VITA? Paid version are.
Thank You. Greetings.

Jawad Ashraf 10 May, 2012 @ 09:31

PSP compatibility is an ongoing process for a variety of games. If it isn’t working it may do in the future (or the game hasn’t been looked at just yet).

There are no plans to change the PSPGo Ambassador games to work with Vita.

Great to see the Pixeljunk series available nice and cheap.

Also a parliamentary enquiry has been signed off on here in Australia to investigate the disproportionately high prices of software down under. I’m sending through some details of the PSN price comparison where the AU prices do not reflect the active exchange rate.

The EU store is a shame. Give me Persona 3 already. :( Let’s not even talk about this version of the sale.

Jawad Ashraf 10 May, 2012 @ 09:34

Persona 3 is available in all EU territories. Are you not able to find it?
