Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron On Blu-ray And PSN This Week

Excited to join you today as we celebrate the impending release of Transformers: Fall of Cybertron with our new launch trailer. We have what we believe is the most complete Transformers game ever. There are so many different Transformers that are playable and many of them – the Dinobots, Metroplex, the Combaticons — are appearing for the first time.

In a first for us, the full Fall of Cybertron game is available day one download via PlayStation Store – that’s this Friday afternoon. Skip the drive and join us on Cybertron!

Many of you have already been enjoying our free demo on PSN and we’ve loved all of your great feedback. The demo features single and multiplayer modes and you can expect tons more in the full game this week. I wanted to extend a personal thank you to the hundreds of thousands of you who have played the multiplayer part of the demo. Your feedback has helped us make important changes to the final game. If you have not yet tried the demo, give it a shot. The ability to transform makes for a very unique and exciting multiplayer experience. We offer tons of depth with four different classes and an amazing character customizer that allows you to build your own Transformer from the ground up.

Enjoy the trailer! I’m happy to take your questions.

Did you enjoy this?

What is the price on psn?

Well firstly I would like to thank you for doing what you did with the War and now Fall of Cybertron games they have been truly great games and I love how they link with the G1 series.

I have my pre-order ready and have received my Grimlock t-shirt in the mail this morning 😀

On a side note; I was just wondering could you guys make it so that double XP is gained in War for Cybertron multiplayer? For people that would still love to complete it?

wardragon989 20 August, 2012 @ 6:19 pm   3

Also I forgot to ask what will you being doing more Transformers games after Fall of Cybertron? Or have you wrapped up the Transformers story you wished to tell?

Way to go, releasing it the same week on PSN as retail. Might not get this game, but please, keep on doing that with more and more games please.

HI Matt, both myself & my wee laddie really, really enjoyed the demo, great stuff.
Looking forward to picking this up on Friday, may even buy from the store if the price is right, can you tell us the store price please?
Higher than retail price for disc version would be the norm for store version, but would be VERY disappointing!!!
Who decides on store pricing YOU or SONY?
I have a novel idea which may not be down to you, depending on who decides the price … download version of any blu-ray release could / should be substantially cheaper due to lack of overheads, but is usually the same price, if not actually dearer from the store.
Surely any game released as a download would sell more units if it was substantially cheaper than the retail disc version? (& pigs may fly, eh!?!)
Also, my 6 year old son wants to know if it has split-screen online / offline modes? (in the main he wants to know if we can both play together in split-screen mode, in online games).

Would you please be able to tell me when you’re announcing the latest competition winners please?

Game and Gamestation (the best source for a proper high street price as RRP doesn’t exist any more) are doing the game for £39.99 or £44.99 for the G1 special edition.

It needs to be at this price or lower really.

Captain-Ultima 20 August, 2012 @ 10:10 pm   8

I didnt see perceptor’s parts available in the demo multiplayer. Assuming there wont be any new parts in the full game will we be getting he’s parts as DLC eventually?

I really like perceptor’s look. especially he’s tank form.

SpiderMike_X 20 August, 2012 @ 10:13 pm   9

Since it’s published by Activision you can expect this to retail for £49.99. Quote me on this, come Friday.

I’d really like to hear from Matt on how much influence developers have on publishers pricing. I doubt it would be very much, but it’s a shame if they do price it so high, the game deserves a lot of sales.

The parts shown in the multiplayer demo are just a sample the rest of the characters in the story will be there for the full game. It would be weird to not have them in there.

@Matt Tieger
Will we see Hound and Ultra Magnus from the preorder trailer added as multiplayer parts in the future? Also I noticed Dragstrip is in multiplayer, will we see the rest of the stunticons as DLC?

Immortal-Wolf-- 20 August, 2012 @ 11:39 pm   12

@Matt Tieger – Game Director, High Moon Studios

Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron

Where is my legend Hot Rod Transformer he was one of my childhood hero and Hot Rod was on the Fall Of Cybertron Transformers movie but he isn’t on your Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron game???

Why my Fav Hot Rod Transformer the lengend of all Transformers not on your game Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron when he was main legend of the story Transformers Fall Of Cybertron anime movie.

This Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron game is a Epic Fail!

Immortal-Wolf-- 20 August, 2012 @ 11:58 pm   13

Ok so no Hot Rod Story on your game Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron???

Like this video is a Epic Fail but funny i guess you guys at High Moon Studios being funny no Hot Rod at Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron???

High Moon only answers questions on the US blog, this post is a copy-paste job, as usual on the EU blog.

Immortal-Wolf epic troll?

If not then here is the reason Hot rod is missing. The game is set just before arrival from cybertron so none of the characters from the movie will be making an appearance, it isn’t even confirmed if Ultra Magnus will be in game yet.

Hot rod was a replacement for optimus so if anything he will be in a third game when Hot rod gets Optimus prime killed and then we can have a level where they dance to weird al yankovich song on a junk planet. I would expect hot rod, springer, kup, arcee and ultra magnus to playable in a third game IF they do one.

Personally I hope they avoid the whole rodimus prime thing since he sucked compared to optimus and his name sounded like a 70’s porn star alter ego. Also if fall of cybertron is “epic fail” then simply don’t buy the game 🙂

I am happy to see a full retail release coming to PSN on day one, but it is going to be the price that is really important. Judging by Activision’s past pricing on PSN for full games (£40 for Prototype two years after the game initially released on disc!!) I am not especially hopeful that the PSN release of Transformers will be reasonable.
The game can currently be pre-ordered from a few online retailers for about £35, so if the PSN release is more than that then it really is just too expensive to consider (and I love digital content, I hate having so many boxes and discs clogging up my home).

bjarne321 21 August, 2012 @ 5:55 pm   17

HIGH MOON! why did you let us Europeans wait 3 days longer? the wait is killing us!

BF3: EU PSN = $120nzd. US PSN = $60usd ($72nzd)
Ghost Recon Future Soldier: EU PSN = $120nzd. US PSN = $60usd ($72nzd)

Don’t tell me you’re going to charge the EU regions almost double for this game too.. if so, I’ll take my money to the US store, again.

stuntmonkios 23 August, 2012 @ 6:07 pm   19

@ Matt
An answer to any of the queries here would be nice, you’ve been answering questions on the US blog, but not here, why is that?
Your post states “i’ll be happy to take your questions”, well we’re asking questions, but no response (here) from you, why is that?
Don’t you want EU sales too?

My original question was ‘please can you tell us the EU store price?’
I also asked if there was split-screen online multiplayer?

stuntmonkios 24 August, 2012 @ 8:30 am   20

Hey Matt, seeing as you can’t be bothered to answer to answer a single question (here on your EU thread anyway) i’m not so sure i can be bothered buying your game, PSN version or otherwise.
I’ll find out soon enough, when it hits the store, how much i will NOT be spending on it & as for my query about splitscreen online play, well, it doesn’t really matter now.
Your lack of even a single reply here has REALLY got right on my ****.
THANKS!!! (for making me consider spending my hard earned cash elsewhere).

stuntmonkios 24 August, 2012 @ 1:19 pm   21

Decided to buy the game today, on disc, bought the G1 edition & cannot play past the 1st level.
Twice so-far, at different points of the level, the game stops, a ‘GAME DATA CORRUPT YOU MUST DELETE THE GAME DATA TO PLAY THIS GAME’ message comes on-screen & the game quit, putting me back to the PS3 XMB.
Twice now i have deleted ALL game data, including autosave, but it still won’t work.
Is this game broken, does it need patched, was i mad to still buy this game after getting totally ignored above ???
High Moon, you’ve just really made my day!

Has this popped up for sale on playstation network yet… And if so how much in the UK??

Well its about 8.30 in the UK and its STILL not on the PSN store to buy.. whats the crack with that?

WHERE THE HELL IS IT?! The US had it FOUR days ago and we’re still sitting here in silence, no sign of it and not a word why.

This is a really poor show from sony/high moon… not impressed 🙁

I’m getting tired of turning  on my ps3 and looking in the store for this piece of ish game. Smh

Hundreds of game stores up and down the country have employed hundreds of staff to move around hundreds of thousands of physical copies of the game just so they could have it on shelves before their doors opened around 7am yesterday morning so their customers can pick the game up without a hitch.

Why is it then that Sony can not have a virtual copy of the game ready and waiting for me on the day of the games supposed release?

Why is it that I feel like I am being penalised for wanting to shop direct from Sony? Not only will I be paying extra to cut out the middle man, but on top of that I have to wait even longer too? wtf

….and to think I actually walked past hmv at around 7.30 on the way home yesterday morning. Smmfh

Besides all that rant, Sony isn’t doing themselves any favours when this is meant to be the first full game released along side it’s retail counterpart on the same day. I wonder how many others are mad like I am right now.. and I wonder how many others next time will just buy from the US store, get the game two days earlier and probably save a pound or two in the process.

QuiteMike 25 August, 2012 @ 12:06 pm   28

Totally agree with the guy above, I forked out the last of my money to put funds on the store to buy FOC yet here I am a day after the supposed ‘Day 1 release for the Store’ still waiting for it to appear yet alone download. Sort it out Sony! You give it to the US store on day of release yet forget about us. If I had known about this I would have purchased the disk.

Downloading now from the UK store, had to search for it but it is there.

I see the game is now in the store. However £44.99 is a disgusting price and I refuse to pay that especially considering the same game in the US store is $60 which translates to just under £38 gbp and my local HMV retails the game for £35!

I am also not happy as like the guy a couple of posts up, I poured all my available cash this week into my psn wallet, which totalled at £43! And really 43 is way too much to pay for any game let alone 45 quid smh.

I guess I’ll just skip on this game, the demo wasn’t really very good, the last game DoTM sucked completely and the first game WFC was completely overrated. Even the massive transformers fan that I am I don’t feel like I’ll be missing out on much.
