What time will the store update?

After platting God of War 1 and 2 recently, I shelved it, never expecting it to see the light of day again.
But now, I just might get it out whilst the wife insists on watching Eastenders…

@Andy Stewart

Come on mate, these are first party games. You’re the publisher. Get them reduced in price on the store!

Now!!!!

Please.

Doesn’t Zen Pinball 2 have some cross-platform feeatures (Cross-Buy)?

Anyway been looking to pick both these collections up along with the Ratchet and Clank collection.

Looking forward to going through SotC again.

Time to get a vita me thinks

I’ve just booted up my copy of ICO/SOTC collection and the patch is not like in UK

6.1

It should go live with the Store Update at around 4.00pm.

Cross-Buy: You forgot Zen Pinball 2!!

We’ll add it to the list.

I’d love ICO+Shadow of Colloseus on Vita itself too!
All those HD remakes for Vita would be cool as well!

will the next ps3 firmware include remoteplay configuration so we can play ps1 games at the 852×440 resolution via remoteplay on the vita for games that will never stand a chance to get put on the psn store due to too much copyright?

Brilliant, you should make this a standard requirement for all new PS3 games, unless the devs have a very good reason to not support it.

Great work, can we look at getting remote play patched in on Jak and Ratchet collections now?

12

I am SUPER jealous of Vita owners right now. I’m only up the 6th colossus because I never have enough time on the TV (unless I kick my poor wife off it). If I could stream it to my Vita while she watched the TV it would settle everything… Please drop the price of the Vita, Sony! It’ll end TV Wars all over the nation :P

Finally!

Though these are PS2 remasters, not actual PS3 games, I can’t complain, as I’ve been waiting for a reason to revisit ICO and Shadow of the Colossus and this is very much it :D

I’d just like to add, for me, the best game to apply this feature to, is the new Twisted Metal, as it’s the most fun I’ve had in years. If you could also fix the online as well – I haven’t been able to join a single match since launch. Just a suggestion.

Thanks guys!

I meant not live

I meant not the patch is not live

15.1

It will be by 4pm

I’ve just booted up ico and no patch in the uk..

Tried some older games and newer titles

Retro/grade works via remote play but still remote play looks very low quality :(

I can’t seem to write a comment that makes sense today so I’ll give up now. :p

18

Is it for both GoW collections?

18.1

No, it is just the 1st one

19

Wow this is pretty cool! Do you know if any other HD Collections will be playable on the Vita soon? I’d really like to play the Ratchet and Clank Trilogy on my Vita!

What a nice surprise, guys, really sweet!

Goddamn I love my Vita. I can only hope it eventually finds some legitimate success.

Hope to see GoW Origins Collection get similar treatment (along with all of the other Sony HD collections), though I can imagine there’s more incentive for Sony to encourage people to buy the PSP versions. It makes sense to start with the first GoW collection, at least.

@17 – Chalkywhyte?

@18 – “First up, God of War Collection, which features the two classic titles God of War and God of War II remastered in HD.”

So just the 1st collection then

I thought remote play would be a service/feature for PSVita owners, not something for a few games that need a patch. Very confusing, very not user friendly, very poorly executed.

25

Bonus info. you can also use Remote Play for all the PixelJunk games, and most if not all of the PS1 games.

woot! it just so happens that Ico and GoW are the only classics that I’ve ever bought, and I’m nowhere near completing them. :)

Is this just for Vita or will it work with Remote Play on PSP too?

@16 – Retro/Grade has Remote Play???? REALLY???

This is cool but try and get some FPS games for remote play like resistance 3 that right analog is seriously under used on vita with only one FPS

I enjoyed this on my brothers PSP,remember playing pixeljunk eden on it.Lag was the killer, worked well streaming music into the garden, any real distance killed gaming.

I would be interested in seeing if the Gaikai tech plays a part in the future. Will PS3 run the streaming tech for PSV,or will our PS3 content be accessible by the PSV via Gaikai.

Great news, wasn’t expecting this for a few weeks, Vita really seems to be picking up steam. Can’t wait to get home and play god of war now. Might order ico too.

May be a buzz kill but remote play is pointless and never works properly

Everything I’ve used stutters and lags :/

Although I wouldn’t say no to the ICO collection and gow collection becoming cross play :3

Lower the price of the Ico colection and then we’ll talk.

@12 why not just buy another tv? You could probably get a 42″ HDTV for the cost of a Vita

You also forgot Foosball 2012, which is cross- buy and cross save (and cross play?)

35

Remote play, PLAGED by the fact 99% of us have dynamic IP addresses with our broadband providers.

so i can be using it out and about and then suddenly my routers internet ip changes and i can’t reconnect.

Support for somthing like DynDNS or other i.p updater would help this system out greatly.

Then you have using remote play in my house. Well im in my house, so thanks but ill play on big tv.

Dont get me wrong its great news that remote play has got some ps3 titles at long last… but the feature is still not what it should be, and probably never will be. NOW using my PS3 as a gakai server to stream all games to my vita… that could be an intresting thought.

Great start, unfortunately I finished and traded GOW Collection 1, I do have Collection 2 waiting to be started, when can we expect an update for that?

Allthough great, original GOW collection needs 3d update more than this!

doesn´t this work for the single game from psn for ico? There is no Patch available and remote play doesn´t work as well

@37 that depends on whether you have a 3D TV or a Vita, both or neither lol

god of war patch is up. I had a go on it and theres a major lag. I was only one room away (maybe metres) and it was unplayable. I really want this feature to work. I’ll try again later but so far disappointed

Any date on the Cross-Controller Pack for LBP2?

Just a quickieee, but i take “PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale” cross-buy function will be in the aspect of costumes, weapons etc. not infact you buy one digital version on the psn store and you get it on both?

Connor_mufc_1985 05 September, 2012 @ 14:08
43

THIS ISNT OUR GAMESTORE UPDATE

I’ve finished everything in the first GoW collection but have hardly touched the origins collection so it’d be good to see that get the same support

ok i take it back. playing through the PS3 is giving me a major lag but over the internet it works perfectly.
this is awesome!

Can I access the PS3 PS Store via Remote Play on a Vita or PSP? Will I be able to download mu PS Plus content from another country, even if I don’t bring a PS3 with me?

please let us use our vita’s as ps3 controllers

48

Do it for Fallout 3 and I’ll buy a Vita just for that.

Carnivius_Prime 05 September, 2012 @ 15:03
49

Nice I care not for Ico stuff but more ways to play games of God of War on the move are always welcome.

50

Why is Sound Shapes in upcoming titles… I thought it was out already?

51

Hey, Great News but…..does anybody know if Trophies will unlock while playing Ps3 games remotely? Cant seem to find any info on that.

I wish these idiots who moan about Remote Play not working over the Internet and being pointless when you’re home would keep their foolish, selfish and short-sighted opinions to themselves.

Well, YOU people are most likely the reason it’s not been fully implemented. I suspect Sony are scared of people going “wah, it’s rubbish, it lags, I can’t do it over 3G, what’s the point” etc.

Well, personally I have no desire to play PS3 when I’m not at home. I do, however, wish to play my PS3 on my Vita when my girlfriend is hogging the TV with “Big Fat Embarrassing Gypsy Bake-Off” or whatever.

52.1

“Big Fat Embarrassing Gypsy Bake-Off” – time for Remote Play!

I think Sony should market Remote Play as something that you can use WHEN ON YOUR OWN NETWORK, i.e. the same as your PS3, for precisely the reasons I mention above. And ditch the “playing games when you’re out” angle because it won’t work great and people who don’t understand why will only moan.

I just want to play my PS3 via Vita when I can’t as the TV is in use. It’s such a simple concept and would make Vita 100% better and worthwhile for me.

I’d like to be able to log in to the store and perhaps play turn-based games remotely when away from home perhaps (as lag won’t matter) but I can’t see me playing Skyrim on the go any time soon. And I’m fine with that.

Sony need to come up with some buzzword that will say “you can play your PS3 over your wi-fi network [but not so great if away from your network]”. Like for example “Local Linking” or something.

For those of us out there who have partners who like to watch rubbish TV. “Local Link” your Vita to PS3 and don’t worry about people h...

It would make me SO much happier as currently I only get to game after about 11:30pm.

Local Linking! Forget being “remote”, play PS3 “locally” via Vita.

@51 Yeah you should still get trophies, the PS3 is doing all the processing, the Vita is just streaming it!

I’m playing God of War II on my Vita as I’m typing and it looks incredible! Graphics are gorgeous, definately streaming above 480p resolution! Some slight lag at times, but not very often.
This is what I’ve been waiting for!

55

@54 Thanks for the reply man! Yeah, thats what i kind of guessed, but i just wanted to be sure. Ive already got the Plats for all the God of War games but it’ll be awesome playing the ICO collection while the missus watches the utter DRIVLE that is TOWIE.

Apparently they are 2 very challenging Plats too! My favourite kind!

Will God of War Collection 2 also be patched?

any plans to add more titles to this list. heres some suggestion for remote play:
Ratchet & Clank HD collection
Devil May Cry HD collection
All the Uncharteds
All the Yakuza games
Resistance 3
Assasins Creed series
LBP Karting
and pretty much any new PSN game release from November onwards

Just think how amazing sales would be boosted if you could do all this

Hm, might someone clarify, why can’t I load the God of war collection blu-ray and get “not supported” message?

Great stuff :D

Oh had to update the game as well, haven’t seen any mention about that, only firmware, anyways – working now: Hoooray

Some small errors:
– StarDust Extreme on the vita and StarDust on the PS3 also have cloud saving and even cross-trophies!

– Sound Shapes is already released but still under upcoming titles.

Might get the Ico collection soon so I’m wondering how it’ll work!

Please tell me that there is a slight possible chance that the sly collection will get this update?? pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!!! I’ve barely played it because I’m away from home so much :( this is more than likely the only time I’ll beg… (lol) so plleeeeassse I beg you to reply!! Give it to me straight Doc…

63

If you buy the team Ico games individually, will you still get the cross controller? (remote play thing).

I really hope this is just the start and so much more compatible games are available

As welcome as these patches are we shouldn’t be waiting for individual games to be “switched on” for remote play. We should be able to just remote play majority of games which seems to be completely technically feasible over wifi and was demoed quite clearly early on with KZ3.

If this is how the feature is going to be “legitimately” executed then we have no chance in seeing the majority of games anytime soon. Especially 3rd party games like Skyrim with lazy ass developers implementing remote-play patches.

Remote play at this point is no better than what it was on the psp which is well, a joke in my opinion for what was lauded the new relationship between Vita and PS3 would be if it still needs to be up to individual developers, like before trophies became compulsory. A new “paradigm”.

66

@smokey, you think Skyrim would be on there if it took more than 10 minutes to do!?!? Bethesda have shown they don’t care about PS3 gamers.

This is a nice step in the right direction, I think the ability to play PS2 games and using the Vita as a PS3 remote will take it up a notch but I will always support new ways to play classic games.

Looking forward to playing ICO on the hand held in a big way. These games and Okami would be freaking awesome to have on the Vita.

Thank you & keep up the good work!

Why do we need such patches in the first place? Why isn’t Remote Play a standard feature of the PSV for all PS3 titles? Oh yeah… Sony didn’t think that much ahead.

Not a feature I’m particularly interested in. Having to leave your PS3 on for this is the dealbreaker for me. If anything, I should put it off more so it can get some rest.

Should be a standard feature, at least on first party stuff. It was all but promised pre launch and then never really happened. At least they are getting their stuff together now I guess? Add this to more titles please Sony! GT5? Resistance 3 ( so I can try and forget burning sky ever tainted my vita).

remote play for all PS3 games was never promised…

Were people aware retro/grade works with remote play? Or am I just slow on this?

Was really excited about this but was very underwhelmed. Played Ico for 10 minutes but gave up due to the lag / dropped frames and muddy YouTube quality visuals.

@rdcomics, can’t say I’ve played ico but god of war and retro/grade ran perfect for me. Make sure you have nothing else hogging you bandwidth, no one else on netflix etc

Will resident evil 4 support remote play soon

thank the lord its finally here this is what i bought a vita for so cannot wait for you guys to try an get the silent hill collection remote playable

Great news guys!

One question though: What do I have to do to play Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 with my Vita (cross-controller).. Do I have to download a patch?

At last, THE ONLY reason i bought my vita (launch-day) is now being switched on, well, it helped having Uncharted GA, and other ‘similar’ games (to come) also, But RP, thats why i really dropped 320quid back in Feb, So obviously you may understand my frustration when reading about psp/ps1 requests and so on, just not my first choice of (limited) gaming time. But, thanks to reading a few comments above, it looks like i Did just buy a useless gimick, i mean wt darn is a geiko server, or what does having ‘normal’ ip address/provider have to do with IF i Can benefit from RP or Not come into it, And more importantly (for me) WHY am i only just reading this now, Where were those comments back in Jan/Feb ?, and i Did read most every comment, in every single (endless, lol) vita promo blog.. It just isn’t fair, i mean i watched (in horror) back in March when resale/trade in value dropped from 230(ish) 3g, to about 110.. But i ‘thought’ RP (and cod game) would bump it back up a bit.. seen jus...

Thank you Sony.

The puzzles slowly come together huh, keep more of this coming please please :P

Great News, and why do people complain about remote play being laggy? if its laggy then get a better broadband connection. Dont blame Sony for stuff that has nothing to do with them. Ill be honest when i first got a vita i was, admittedly dissapointed. However this system will only get better. For example Cross-Controller.

I bought the God of War Saga just because of this. Frickin’ awesome!!! This capability is why i bought the Vita in the first place. Sony, if you’re listening, THIS is what makes your customers happy, and THIS is what will improve your Vita sales!!! Now we need way more patches for PS3 games (Killzone as initially promised, COD, Battlefield 3, and more). Keep them coming!!!

@Bumblebee #52 #53

Well put matey ;-)
It REALLY annoys me when people say things like “buy a new TV” or “play the PS3 in a different room”. These idiots obviously do not have significant other halves in their lives. Even if my Missus is watching Big Fat Gypsy Bake Off on the main TV I (and by the sounds of it you too) am not about to skulk off to a different room for the night and play PS3 on a big TV while the Missus is in another part of the house!
I am not a moody teenager and my Missus is not my parent. We love being in each others company in an evening even if we are doing separate things.

If these short sighted fools do have other halves and cannot see the advantage of remote play then I really feel sorry for their partners (if they have them at all that is ;-))

TINTIN :-)

Great news and long over due. Can’t wait to test it out. I hope it is at a decent resolution as everything else I’ve tried to use on remote play looks too low res to me. Even the recent Retro/Grade which I hoped would be hd as its a new PSN title with remote programmed in?
Two great titles to start with and I hope more come online in a steady flow?
How about some PSN titles and a fw update to the ps3 so it can stream at a higher res to the vita?

Is it being worked on other titles? Killzone 3 or GT5 will look good on Vita for sure.

I’m not one to blog or pass comment often but I just wanted to the say that it’s great to see the remote play feature finally delivering the goods on the Vita. I’ve tested ICO + SOTC both home and away and it works well, the responsiveness of the controls is especially good which came as a surprise and I’m not even on fibre at home!

I hope third parties consider jumping on the bandwagon and patching their products too. I wonder how difficult/easy it is to implement? Oh well that’s the black box for you. Would be great to see something like Okami HD or Dragons Dogma working or PS2 support (either for classics or BC machines). Anything you get a long game out of basically.

Be interesting to know if there is anything else in the pipeline… or is this really a test bed for some replacement to remote play which connects to some next-gen cloud unknown thing (and possibly LTE vitas?). It will happen for sure as things ever converge, just nobody knows when…

Anyway I digress with my musings, ...
